Believe it or not, you CAN pet kangaroos in Kentucky. My coworkers and I visited the Kentucky Down…read moreUnder Adventure Zoo, and even though we are all adults, we had a blast. The zoo isn't large, but it's big enough to spend a morning or afternoon there as a family. If you have mobility issues, golf carts are available for rent, but if you're in good health and wear the right shoes, you can easily walk and cover the whole zoo. The zoo has a few hills (it is Kentucky) so do wear comfortable shoes and prepare to walk unless you rent a golf cart. My favorite parts were petting the kangaroos and also seeing the sheep dog demonstration. Do pay attention to the times for demonstrations and animal shows; they are worth seeing and the times are a bit limited. You can also feed the goats and interact with the animals, which I enjoyed. We also toured the underground cave, which was a lot of fun but involved a lot of steps. Some of the steps were wet and steep, so be aware of that if you have mobility issues. If you're a parent of young kids or a person who enjoys animals and nature, Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo is a great attraction and worth a visit. It's not too far of a drive from Bowling Green, and a lot of schools and summer day camps visit on field trips.

We did the cave tour - you can tip the guide at the end, we didn't know and didn't have any cash on us. We enjoyed the feeding the Kangaroos and Emus. Some things were closed because of rain but it didn't stop us from having a good time.

So I have been here twice. Once 10 years ago when the wife and I got a Groupon from residents…read morebecause at the time they were doing bridge construction and I'm sure they were trying to gather up business. Which worked because the family and I enjoyed it a lot and we came back about 5 years later with my now larger family and a few friends. Not going to lie I kinda forgot about this place until the photos popped up on my Facebook memories today. So it inspired me to share my old photos and review on yelp. When we last went the farm was called Deere farms. The reason we enjoyed it so much is it is a alternative to hubers. Nothing personal against hubers as it is great as well. But this place does not have the insane crowds hubers does and it's more peaceful. The reason you go to farms is for fresh air and space. At hubers it can get stressful with the huge crowds and watching out for your small kids. Off memory this place has the traditional pumpkin patch, a short but neat little wagon Ride through the Forrest, corn guns, corn maze, inflatables, unique play ground and a small Petting zoo. I'm sure I'm missing some things and some things may have been added or removed by now with time and a name change. Every time me and my family went we have loved it. Pricing is a bit on the high end but like most farms during this fall season that is to be expected. They do/did have concessions with hot dogs, sodas and candy apples. So you could spend the day there and eat and take your time. We will have to try and get out here soon and check this place out again. May not be able to This year because of covid precautions (not sure what all is open or even open at all). But if they are open I would highly recommend especially if you are looking for a less crowded and different experience than hubers farm.

Hubs actually was exploring our route and discovered this place so we bookmarked it in case we had time. Both times we visited, we were kind of strapped for time so we have yet to go on the tour. They do allow for tastings of their many boozes but they limit it to 6 or 8, which is very smart. I think we did not have that many our recent trip. Since we purchased 6 bottles our first trip (they give a discount for 6+ bottles), we were already familiar and wanted to try some of their new items. Both times we visited, we brought in our dog and she received a lot of attention. They have dog toys so of course I had to buy her one each time. Now those are really expensive! The prices vary for their bottles, maybe averaging about $55. Some are cheaper and many are more expensive than that. They also sell merchandise in the same room you do the tastings. We never have time but they do free tours and I wanna say they last about 45 minutes. It is in the middle of nowhere so it's not like you can make a day out of it any stay in town, while filling up an entire itinerary for a day. We really enjoy their bourbon and keep stock of the Blueberry and Mint Julep flavored bourbons. Everyone is always hospitable when we visit and that motivated us more to support them!
