When I went I knew exactly what tooth needed work, I was asked to make a payment up front before they billed my insurance. I just got a bill in the mail (almost three months after the date of service). I'm almost offended by this bill. The root canal in itself is a huge expense, add in the x-rays and we're already well over a grand. There is an extra $104 oral evaluation charge and random "service charges" added on that date several months after treatment. The examination charge would have seemed fine other than that I had maybe a 2 minute discussion where Dr. Schaeffer checked to make sure I did have the correct tooth, and then very quickly there were needles in my mouth and my treatment started. Care: I am a busy person. I work full time and was told by my dentist that she was "fast," so I was already appreciating that. I'm not a scared dental patient. I have had some work done before, but I honestly was so anxious and on edge during the treatment. I was actually in and out in less than 40 minutes with completely paperwork and paying. Her work was so fast and aggressive and she began working immediately after shooting me up with the numbing agent. It was a very uncomfortable experience. I have never felt like so much like a dollar sign than a patient. The good news is she seemed to do good work and I had no issues since then. I'm just not thankful for this obscene bill right before Christmas.

I showed up, filled out paperwork on the fancy tablet and e-pen they gave me, and I was briefed on my root canal. The procedure was pretty much painless and Dr. Schaeffer is great at what she does. I highly recommend them.

Dr Hampton pulled one of his teeth and left a section of root in his gum causing infection and pain until the root finally worked it's way out of the gum. In the mean time, Dr Hampton prescribed several antibiotics that really messed up Larry's digestive system so he still has chronic diarrhea. I generally just go for cleaning every 6 months and although I have some problems I'm hesitant to share and get the care I need. The hygienist doesn't clean the front of my teeth at all. Apparently I am troublesome and in need of punishment for my very existence. I guess we need a new dentist.

The one listed was gold. I have a gold crown. After my biopsy, my pain was unbearable. If anyone has had a toothache, they understand the pain can make one crazy. I called Northgrand dental to see if they would remove the gold crown, fill any cavities and put a temporary crown on my tooth. I didn'T want to make future plans at this time. While the receptionist was polite, her concern was getting paid and the next step, and the next step and the next step. I just wanted this crown removed to see if the pain would stop, I was thinking I would make future plans after I had this done. Possibly remove other crowns and have them replaced. I just wanted to take things one step at a time. She decided to put me on hold to speak to the dentist. No one ever came back on the phone. I hung up, waited a few minutes and called back. it went to voicemail. That was my one and only experience with Northgrand Dental.

Well, that wasn't the case at all. I was walking out on my second appointment (out of three that I needed for a mouth guard). As I checked out, the receptionist informed me that I owed around $200 for my last two appointments, one being from when I was in high school and wasn't even paying my own dental bills. No one quoted me anything at those appointments. Wouldn't that send the message that I don't owe anything because of my insurance? I sat and cried in my car afterwards because I'm a college student and don't have extra to spend. I called to ask about it before my third appointment because I have not been quoted anything for my mouth guard at this point. The people in the office couldn't tell me what my bill was because there is only one person that can do that and they weren't in. Upon finally getting my mouth guard, I now owe around $500 and again, was not told how much it would cost in advance. Isn't that important to tell a patient before getting something done? I'm disappointed because they have always been great as a dental office. But, now I almost feel cheated for the lack of communication about what appointments and procedures cost and what will and won't come out of my insurance.

I went in to get a filling drilled out and a new one put in and I was numbed 3 separate occasions throughout the service. They couldn't figure out why I could still feel everything so they told me they were almost done and I had to push through. I can honestly say I am scared to go back to any dentist at this point. My jaw and nerves were shot for more than a week from just a routine filling. After the fact when the bill came it was way over what we discussed and they admit that the bill they sent was wrong. Won't go back.

No fault to the dentist, I just have longer roots than the average human apparently. First of all, he was able to see me the same day. My past experiences with being referred to endodontist usually meant waiting another week or more before I could be seen. Dr Erickson and his team were able to get me numb enough to finish the root canal. I didn't feel any pain and they even gave me a blanket and some apple juice because I was cold and shaking from the additional numbing they did. Afterwards they provided after hours number in case I had any issues. I was able to text him and he would always respond promptly and put up with my constant worries and questions. Unfortunately I did have to go back and have an apicoectomy on the same tooth. Due to the complications from the initial root canal and my lovely long root! Now I've had countless work done on my mouth but this procedure scared me to death. The team there were very patient with me and put me at ease. I'm recovering from it now and so far everything is going good. It's definitely reassuring to know if I do have anymore problems that he will be there. I wish he was an oral surgeon. I'd go to him in a heartbeat to have implants done. If I ever do need anymore endodontic treatment, he is the only endodontist I'll go to as well as if any of my family will require it.

I was finagling appointments between the endodontist and dentist office. The dentist numbed me up for the endodontist office because my procedure at the dentist office made me slightly late for Dr. Chan. Dr. Chan was still overly concerned to make sure that I wouldn't experience any pain. This is an endodontist that thoroughly checks, rechecks, and rechecks again his work. It's too bad that I'm his first reviewer, but if it makes you feel any better I am an RN who has worked in over 60 hospitals across the USA. I know the good from the bad doctors. He must be a great endodontist anyway because he gave up a life in NYC to serve the people of the DMI, right?
