I can't understand the negative reviews and I'd hate for people to overlook this garage just because of 1 mistake they may or may not have even made (I spoke with Frank and he informed me the Better Business Bureau had dismissed Margs L.'s grievance). I've dealt with them numerous times and the service has always been fast, of good value, and well executed. The first time, I went in for brake maintenance and Frank (I believe that's his name) told me everything I needed and didn't need and exactly why. He even offered a cheapo band-aid solution to make the discs last a little longer, at very little cost to me. What other garage does that? The brakes he temporarily fixed were smooth as silk after he ground off the rust, but he informed me it was a temporary solution, and this held true. After a few months, I could feel the brake pad friction again, exactly as he had anticipated. I went to Midas because I was out of town, and although they did a fine job, it was about a million times more expensive, and they threw a ton of extra unnecessary services at me. Most places hammer you with extra services and parts, but this place is very straight with you about what you realistically need and the price for labour isn't sky high. Don't worry about past bad reviews. They are ancient. I've taken my car here a few times in the past 2 years and have been very happy with the service, the cost and how I've been treated. As the reviewer before me stated, "there are some larger jobs which can't be done here because of the proprietary computer systems and tools required." But I'm giving them 5 stars anyway because even with these limitations Frank thoroughly examined my car for a day and a half and when we discovered that the problem was not resolved with a new camshaft sensor he refunded my money and recommended I take the car to an auto electric specialist. Frank saved me money there too because I could tell the specialist what had already been diagnosed and done. As a woman, I've had to deal with unscrupulous auto repairmen in the past who tried to take me for a ride so I'm very watchful and leery. It's great to know there is a place I can go to get an honest and fair auto repair done by a very polite fellow. The lady in his office is really nice and helpful too. I'd go here again without hesitation. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Referred to Crawford's Service Station by MTO on College Street for emission testing about five years ago. Have been going to Crawford's ever since. Having a strong beleif in, "reduce, reuse, recycle," I have always owned used cars that require repairs from time to time. I have lived in many places and visited many mechanics over my last thirty years of driving and car ownership. As a resident of downtown Toronto for nine years, I continue to service my vehicles at Crawford's because I am assured of a fair fix. Frank always provides me with an explanation of the cause of the problem and options to solve the problem. He is very concerned about the cost to me as the consumer and seeks the most affordable parts, new and used, based on discussion with me. They work hard and above all are honest. I have been taking both our cars into this garage for maintenance for year and couldn't be more pleased with the service. I'm a busy eye care professional and having a mechanic that's trustworthy and efficient is invaluable, so that I don't mind driving the relatively long distance for service there. They actually defer costs for me by being forthright (I took one vehicle in for a muffler replacement and Frank mentioned that I could defer the trouble and expense of replacing the muffler by welding it as the factory used cheaper rivets originally at the seam that had opened). read more

These guys have come to the rescue for me more times than I care to count. Frank is a straight up bloke and many times for little nit picky things, he's sent me off without charging me a red cent! One time, he drove over to my house to help fix a problem that was keeping the car grounded. If you're looking for a mechanic who will NOT rip you off, this is your man. read more

This garage has been providing us with excellent service for the last 10 years. We took our old Dodge Caravan there, and then our new Ford Escape (once the warranty expired). Frank and his mom have always been honest and have never ripped us off. Our car runs smoothly and is in excellent shape, largely because of the outstanding service we've gotten here. read more
