I have been to EWC in both CA and AR, but this was my first time at this location. It had been a…read morehot minute, and let's just say it was a hairy situation. I made my appointment online via their app. Super easy. I showed up and met my esthetician, Shatanna. Shatanna is super cute and bubbly. She just had really amazing energy and put me at ease. I've had lots of Brazilians, but I still get a bit nervous -- it's hot wax on my cooch. Shatanna was just great at making me relax and feel at ease. You can tell she really loves her craft. She is a perfectionist, which is a good thing -- my stuff looks good. I also got a brow wax, and I got several compliments at work today. She shaped them very naturally. I HIGHLY recommend Shatanna...she does an awesome job, and she's just really fun to talk to...very bubbly and sweet. Also, my wax was as close to painless as I've ever had, which is a big deal when it's a delicate area.

I'm disappointed with my recent experience and wanted to share my concerns for anyone considering a…read moremembership or booking an appointment at European Wax Center. I attempted to reschedule my appointment and was informed that I would be charged a cancellation fee if I canceled. I specifically asked whether the cancellation fee applied to unlimited memberships, but I never received a response. Despite not receiving clarification, I was subsequently charged a $30 cancellation fee to my card. I then had to rebook my appointment for the exact same time and day, which made the situation particularly frustrating. I also have concerns regarding the cleanliness and overall condition of the facility. During my visits, I have noticed hair and wax residue on the floors, which gave me the impression that the facility could be maintained to a much higher standard of cleanliness. Another concern is the lighting in the waxing rooms. The fluorescent lighting does not seem appropriate for a service that requires adequate visibility and attention to detail. I was told that customers at several locations have previously requested improved lighting, but that those requests have not resulted in changes. Additionally, I have heard concerns from customers regarding the way management allegedly speaks about clients. While I cannot personally verify those comments, it contributed to my decision to reconsider continuing my membership. Overall, I believe customers deserve clear communication, professional customer service, a clean environment, and appropriate conditions for the services they are paying for. Based on my experience, I will be canceling my membership effective November 1. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and considers making improvements for current and future customers. There are other businesses in the area that provide these services in a more professional and consistently clean environment, so I encourage anyone considering an appointment to research their options carefully.

On this day, I was taking a 10-year-old daughter who lost her police officer father in the line of duty on a belated Christmas shopping trip to honor her loss. Sadly, Ulta didn't feel the same way, as shown by the treatment towards her and those accompanying her that day. I had tried calling for two weeks before our trip to Ulta to speak to the GM to see if they could make her day special by offering her a discount or some beauty samples, but the manager was never available. Based on the rude attitude I received on the phone every time I called, I doubt my messages were passed on to her. This should have been a premonition of how our visit would go. Our only shining light that day was Danielle. She was wonderful! She helped us throughout our shopping experience, giving us ideas of what our 10-year-old guest might like and taking us straight to the register to ring us up. She was truly lovely and is a benefit to the Ulta brand. Things only went down from here on out. The rudest person was the sales girl wearing a white top and short, messy brown hair who was ringing up customers next to us. She purposely yelled and was super loud to drown out Danielle's and mine conversation so we couldn't hear each other. She kept frowning at me and those with me. I found out afterward that while we were checking out, this girl approached my party, standing at the front of the store, and told them in the meanest way that they were blocking customers, which they were not, and they needed to leave. By this time, we had been joined by our special guest, a local, very well-known police officer who told her she was insulting and he wanted to speak to the manager. When the manager, Kristi, came over, she defended her staff but acknowledged she knew who the officer was and didn't make them move. Kristi then came over to me, and I again asked if there was anything she could do for our guest. She was adamant that Ulta couldn't even give her one beauty sample! I couldn't believe that Ulta wouldn't do one thing for this child who lost her father and sacrificed his life for others. I'd like you to know that I have been taking children on shopping trips like these for 7 years, and your store is the ONLY one that has never offered anything to a child. You should be ashamed of yourselves. In December, I took two teenage sisters to Sephora, and they tripped over themselves helping us! They gave the girls two bags filled to the top with samples, and they were thrilled! It doesn't take much to make these kids happy, but it also doesn't take much to show them that they don't matter. Congratulations.

FYI....four years ago, QVC bought out Lancome and Belk was forced to remove Lancome, Christian Dior and and Mac brands and all fragrances from the Belk store in Branson. However, Ulta has all the good brands of makeup and fragrance, and a little bit less expensive .....plus their employees are nice and helpful. The only thing I would recommend is actually giving a sample here or there of the fragrances, especially during the holidays and having someone available to show the fragrances that knows what they're talking about because they keep their fragrances locked in cabinets and you can't even smell them to see which one you want to purchase.
