I have very thick curly hair that was a mess! Not only was she able to get me in on extremely short notice, but she transformed my hair and gave it a style, not just the dreaded triangle shape most curlies are familiar with. Neil is awesome! We started going to see him based on his Yelp review a year or so ago- and every appt since has been worth it! My son's hair is always on point- he gets compliments from his friends at school- a big deal in teen world. You're going to need to make an appointment; don't drop in. Go ahead, make your appointment now. I'll wait. My son and I needed haircuts. We were QUITE shaggy. He's three and I'm... Considerably older than that. I'm not used to going to a salon; I usually take my boy to an athletic barber shop chain in the area. Full disclosure, they're much cheaper than The Standard but your mom was right: you get what you pay for. I showed up very early for my appointment and the person ahead of me had cancelled, so Neil sat me right away (yeah, half an hour early). He asked me for direction, and I let him know that I typically get quarterly haircuts and I'd like about this length in front and off my neck and ears. That's all he needed; I don't think he asked me a single question about "want me to trim your brows?" or anything like that. It's awkward to have that question stated. Like what would I say anyway? "Nah. I like really bushy brows; I'm going for the Eugene Levy look." Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that he needed very little direction and ended up giving me EXACTLY what I wanted. If I'd given him more direction, I would have been driving him further away from what I really want. I don't know that I've had a haircut this good this DECADE. No fluff. Neil is laid back, calm, positive, and friendly. So he made me happy. Now for the part where he does a task much more difficult: He makes my wife happy by making my son look good. My son doesn't approach a haircut easily. Though he really wanted a haircut, the prospect of actually sitting in a chair while getting it cut made him nervous. Neil was really good with him (Neil's a dad, so yeah; he's good with kids). He went slowly around the places where my son sank in the chair because it tickled; and I can't tell where he made a single erroneous snip. I told him to give my son the same cut he gave me, and I think he did that perfectly. So does my wife. Apart from how spectacular Neil was, I suppose it's also noteworthy that the environment is clean, upscale, and hip. Overall, I think I'll be trusting Neil with the male heads in my family for the foreseeable future. I was bracing myself for a much heftier tab than it was (I don't think it was even $10 more than the other place for the two of us), I got a flawless haircut for two heads, and my purchase helped a local entrepreneur instead of a franchise. read more

Just got my hair done by Devin! She did such an amazing job i got a trim, deep condition, and she toned my orangey ombre i had. Then she styled it into big curls and my hair has never looked so good. She was also really sweet and friendly and she definitely knew what she was doing! Being mixed race (half black, half turkish) with different textures its even more difficult for me to find a good stylist but she rocked it and made me feel fierce! I will definitely be coming back I highly recommend her. Oh and shes really good at eyebrows too! read more

I have to say I was a little nervous when I went in for a cut and color. I had been watching this salon on yelp for a while, and have read all of the reviews. Amanda did an amazing job! She explained the best way to process new color and growth for my curly hair. She is an awesome host, and the rest of the staff are awesome as well! First time in a LONG time I've left a salon EXCITED about the way my hair turned out! Kayleigh is a very talented stylist. I've had balayage done to my hair in the past but was not satisfied how it turned out the last time so I started looking for a new stylist. I found photos of Kayleigh's balayage work on Yelp and I did not hesitate to ask her to work her magic on my hair and BOY did she deliver!!! She listened to what I did not like about my hair and what I wanted as well as offered suggestions. It's been 2 days and I've already received many compliments on my hair. My husband usually can't tell a difference after I go to the salon (except the last time, neither of us liked that outcome ) but this time he noticed and keeps complimenting it! Please save your time. If you want an incompetent stylist who doesn't know what shes doing. I scheduled my Saturday appointment a week in advance, sent photos and explained my hair history. I showed up to meet Havin and was disappointed to find out she lacked the education, knowledge and time management to have a successful appointment. I walked out. Brittanie is so talented! I've lived in Vegas and California and thought my hair dresser of 7 years in Las Vegas couldn't be beat..I was wrong! I got a cut, color and highlight. She did such a great job choosing just the right colors, and really listened to me. She's a perfectionist and accommodated me coming "after hours". Brittanie has such a genuinely friendly, and caring personality. She loves what she does and it shows in her work! I went yesterday and saw Ashley, she was great! I've seen Kayleigh before as well (also very nice) and both did a great job! I love Ashley's personality and I would definitely book with her again. She worked with my crazy work schedule and did a good job. I went in just for a trim, as I'm in the process of growing my hair back out. I didn't expect a trim to cost me $40 (not to mention tip) but she did do more than just take some scissors to back of my hair. She washed, trimmed (quite a bit off the back) and blow dried and styled so I'd pay it again .. It's hard to find a good person or place these days that aren't around that price range for a trim. So just throwing that out there. But overall win win. Looking forward to working with Ashley in this growing out process! I feel like I can trust her judgment when it comes to hair as she was very knowledgeable and open and that can be hard to come by! read more

I recently changed to this salon. I love it. Amanda does an amazing job. She listened to my concerns and requests, talked me through everything, and made me feel comfortable. The salon is very clean and well kept. The chairs you sit in while they do your hair are very nice and comfortable, unlike any other I've seen.
