If you turn on Cindy Avenue you will see Exotic Underworld go just a little further. They are located in the corner. The pricing varies depending on what sort of repair you need. But I have found them to be affordable. The turn around time is also great. For small repairs they require cash payment. But do not worry if you do not have it on hand. You can pay at pick up. They also of course take cards for all other repairs. Another plus, they repair more than just shoes. Ace repairs bags, totes, small luggage too! I have taken many pairs of my shoes and my husband's too. They always come back to me looking fantastic. The gentleman working behind the counter is always honest about telling me if it is not worth it to repair a pair of shoes. I appreciate his customer service. There is no working phone number for the business to check on the status of your repair: The two phone numbers for the business both are not in service: The one here on Yelp 912-691-0170 The other on the store front window and google search 912-920-8819 The business advertises itself as "Instant Shoe Repair" but when you enter the store there is a sign posted, "No Instant Repair today" The business requires full payment in cash upfront when dropping off shoes to be repaired. The claim ticket contains nothing in reference to the business or a phone number. The shoes I dropped off were not ready when promised - I stopped by the store a two weeks later at 3 PM only to find the store was closed even though all three signs state the business is open until 4:30 PM. Never again - so sad too because I was a first time customer of this business and would have used them again.

One was finishing her shift and leaving, so I was assisted rather quickly by an employee who was knowledgeable about the product. As I was purchasing for a farm manager and not myself, there was no opportunity for a proper fitting. However, the employee was very adept in trying to rush me through the purchase process. I like to assess value, not only fit and appropriateness to the application. I selected a pair of shoes which happened to be discounted. Immediately the shoes were brought to the register and I asked for a few more moments to assess a second purchase, at which point the register had to be cleared. I really felt as though I was being "rushed." I selected the second pair of work boots, which were brought to the counter and immediately scanned. I asked the store clerk if a "GATE" tax exempt card was acceptable as the shoes were farm work boots. I was told NO, but I insisted saying I had the appropriate credentials, which were eventually accepted. The order was processed and as both pairs of boots were discounted, the first pair by $51.00, the second pair by $21.00 & the tax exempt GATE deduction of $23.00, I quickly noticed, though I asked for the deduction on the first pair of shoes, it had not been applied. The order had to be reprocessed to reflect the $51 discount, then reprocessed once again to deduct the second discount and finally, I had to request the tax discount. Bottom line, Aaron E., my cashier had no intention whatsoever of following through with the agreed displayed discounts or the tax exempt request. Bottomline, check your processing receipt or expect to pay full price. Dishonest merchant, definitely. Would I return to this store? Absolutely not.

Peter and Sons luggage repair to the rescue!…read more I have a larger size Samsonite Strarium case (from Japan) that unfortunately lost one of its wheels. I tried looking everywhere for it, to no avail. Even more difficult was trying to source a replacement wheel (since it's an Asian market product line), but thankfully the suitcase was still warrantied by the brand. Peter and Sons were extremely fast with the wheel replacement; in fact I counted 9 days from the time I dropped it off at the local Samsonite retail store to when the suitcase was mailed back to me at my front door. Props to them for a fast and no-cost repair!

I had a damaged clip on the sternum strap on my Gregory Jade backpack. Something that seems so…read moresimple was a nightmare. I was sent a replacement strap from Gregory, but I wasn't able to attach it to my pack and neither was anyone at the two REI stores that I visited hoping to get it fixed. I was a little desperate and tried on several backpacks while in REI, but none fit me as well as my trusty Jade 38. Also, most of the backpack frames now are too large to conform to the carry on restrictions. Next, I brought it to a local shoemaker, but he didn't have the proper equipment to sew the backpack. Luckily, someone at the Gregory warranties department, suggested sending my pack to Peter and Sons. Well, not only did the shipping and repairs take less than a week, my pack is usable again! These guys are awesome! I wouldn't hesitate to trust these guys with any kind of repairs on luggage, they do great work!

On 11/16/17 I brought a pair of boots to W & J Discount Shoe Repair to be resoled. I asked for a…read moreVibram soles and was shown a catalog and selected specific soles to be used and was told they had to be ordered. I was also told that I had to pay up front for the repair. I asked if they'd be ready for Thanksgiving or soon after and was told it could take a bit, but no date could be given. I came back two weeks later and the shoes hadn't been worked on. I was told that it takes a while to take off the original soles. I came back two weeks after that and the shoes were still in the same place, unfinished. The third time I came to check on the repair, they couldn't tell me when they'd be finished and yelled at me when I asked when the boots would be finished. Since they hadn't started on them, I asked for my boots back and was told that I should take them and that I wouldn't be getting my money back so I told them then that they needed to finish the job. The two shopkeepers yelled at each other about promising a date that the repair would be ready, which got really heated. After this I left the shop. On 1/4/18 I finally received a call that my boots were ready to pick up. They did a very sloppy job putting the new soles on. Contact cement was everywhere--they had to sand it off and the stitching they did on the welt which was already coming apart. Also, they repaired the shoe with a completely different and less expensive sole than what I ordered. I ordered a specific sole made by Vibram. When I said I wasn't satisfied with the work, I was screamed at, told I was ignorant, would not get a refund, should leave the shop, and that I was never welcome back. When I returned to my office, I tried on the boots. The shoes felt like I was walking on marbles. They are extremely lumpy and not wearable. All in all, not a great experience.
