Found this awesome boutique while visiting Gillette for the first time. Loaded with lots of unique items and run by a lovely woman who was a pleasure to meet. Bought a gorgeous sweater made by NYDJ that I cannot wait to wear here and back at home. This place is a real find! I could spend an hour just browsing. Be sure to check it out. This quaint little store has so many wonderful things to look at. It always smells wonderful because of the yummy smelling candles she sells. The clothing and jewelry selection is unique and beautiful. This is my go-to place for wood wick candles. The home decor items are whimsical and I want to take something home every visit. This store is a home items, decor, earrings, sweaters, knitting supplies kind of store. The owner is so sweet and friendly. They sell woodwork candles too. You could browse through this store ten times and still not see everything in there. She works with local women co ops to create the jewelry, pottery, and sweaters she sells. I agree with the other posts...this is a gem of a boutique shop. Vernetta was very delightful to talk with, was not pushy, let me shop, but was helpful and informative about her products. We travel from Seattle area to the mid west every year. Our schedule usually does not allow us to stop in Gillette. We will make this a stop from now on. read more

Lovely little gem of a store with a great selection of home decor, nicknacks, collectibles, handbags, jewelry, knitted items, cross stitch and yarn. Also one of the largest selections in town for what feels like the entire line of Burt's Bees products. The offerings change frequently so every time you visit there is another gem to find. The owner and shop keeper is friendly and attentive without feeling pushy. Her little silky terrier is there to greet you with a bark "hey your in my store" then settles down on her throne next to the register. Great local store in downtown Gillette that the ladies don't want to miss and for the guys, perfect place to find a gift for that special gal in your life! read more

I can never find good LYS (Local yarn shop)around where I live. This one is an hour away and WELL WORTH THE DRIVE! I don't care to use "cheap" yarn from places like Walmart, so I like places like Crazy Woman Mercantile! I like to call these places yarn boutiques because you really are getting great yarn! I am a knitter and crocheter, and I was so happy to see all the choices she had, I spent 30-40 minutes to find only two skeins, because I couldn't make up my mind! I agree with the review prior to mine by Jessica W. - Vernetta is extremely friendly and so kind. She's helpful and has beautiful yarn sheered locally in Buffalo! I can't wait until I need more yarn for orders! (I make items to order, and this is my new supplier for sure)! There is also knick-nacks, books, decorations, clothing, furniture, etc.... this was my first time there and I know we didn't even see half of what she has to offer! read more

I used to love this store. The owner was always so nice and helpful and I really enjoyed chatting with her. Today, however, I was treated extremely poorly. It was my birthday and so my husband decided to take me shopping. We went in and the owner was immediately short with us as if we had done something wrong. We looked around and while we did she followed us. And when I say she followed us I mean she hovered as if trying to catch us stealing. I picked out a pair of earrings and brought them to the counter to pay. While she was ringing them up I noticed she had a cast on her hand and I asked if she was okay. She snapped back, "Obviously NOT!" And all I could do was say, "Oh, okay. I'm sorry." My husband was shocked. She even followed us out the door. I dont know if I suddenly reminded her of a thief after all these years or if she was high on pain meds but I have NEVER been treated like this by a store owner. She kind of ruined my birthday. I wont be shopping there again. read more
