My husband and I moved into a 2-bedroom condo in desperate need of an overhaul, and our designer recommended Mike for our major renovation projects. Mike came in, listened to all our needs and took copious notes. We had a complete estimate for everything within a few days of our meeting, including cost and time frames for: - hardwood floor install in 2 rooms; - hardwood floor repair for the rest of the apartment; - tile install for the foyer; - fireplace tile surround plus fireplace repainted; - entire condo repainting, including ceilings and exposed ductwork, and; - complete kitchen remodel. The work was done on time and within budget, even with the inevitable surprises that always come up during reno projects. The crew was punctual, efficient, always respectful and very neat. Zack came in to manage our tile projects, and both he & Mike were obsessive about details; our foyer has a concrete column that required a curved cut on our tile floor - and it is literally perfect thanks to their attention. We're planning our bathroom remodel in the next year, and I've already got Mike on speed-dial.

We did meet with a couple other contractors initially just to be thorough, but were very impressed with Mike and Zack at BC at our first meeting, and continued to be throughout the entire project. We live in an old victorian and have practically remodeled the entire interior. BC has by far been the best contractors we've used in the 9 years we've been here: - The final budget was very close to their quote; - When there were discrepancies, they explained why and always asked permission beforehand to do the work; - They updated us weekly on ongoing costs (Mike is a former financial analyst so I received a nicely formatted Excel spreadsheet each week :) - Their sub-contractors were all very good (they mentioned they've "curated" their subs until they've found the best ones and I believe it - from painters to electrical, they were excellent) - They were obsessive about a clean work site, especially at the end of the day when they left - Very trustworthy; we left them alone in our house extensively, gave them a key, and never had an issue And most importantly, the quality of their work is fantastic. With other contractors, it has always felt like 80% or 90% of the work was good, but there were these little issues at the end of the job that gnawed at you later. Not with these guys. They either do the work beautifully the first time, or if there is an issue, they correct it. They're a little OCD themselves, so you don't have to be all over them constantly. And when they don't feel like they have clear direction, instead of making assumptions and moving ahead, they always asked what to do, which was appreciated. Mike and Zack and their entire crew were also just good guys and a pleasure to be around. Overall I obviously can't say enough about BC. They're not for your handyman type projects, but if you have major renovations like bathrooms, basements, kitchens, custom decks, etc. I would strongly consider them.

Why ??? ) which led to relentless abuse by countless Chicago seasons and resulted unsightly mold and moss and other gross growths. He was quick to reply with our initial request for a quote and came by the next day to check out the projects. He priced the work reasonably - was quick to complete the work (stained the roof deck, tore out the carpet on the other deck and installed new decking, even dog-proofed it, to boot!), he paid great attention to detail, and did an overall awesome job. It all started with Adrian coming to my house the day after I spoke with him and he spent three hours measuring the outside of the house. He brought plenty of samples of siding colors and made us feel unrushed, as he patiently listened to us and gave us input on the products available. He provided us with a timely and detailed proposal to do the complete job, which included a detailed listing of all costs of materials and labor. Once we accepted the proposal, the Magdan construction crew arrived a few weeks later and went to work. Adrian introduced me to the foreman, Jose, who kept me informed of the crews progress and was available to answer any questions and address any concerns I had. The crew did quality work and kept a clean and organized work site at my home. The work was complete in a little over a week and the results were outstanding! My home exterior looks great!
