Posting this so others will not have the same experience. On August 2, 2025, my husband and I took my adult niece and nephew as well as my BIL to Create It for an afternoon of ceramic painting. It was my niece's 20th birthday. Since my husband and I live out of state, the employees told us (and it is clearly posted) that they would ship our items. I received the items yesterday and the platter was broken. Unfortunately, it was shipped in a very flimsy box with little tape and padding. The package was not secure in any way. Obviously we were disappointed that our item did not arrive as we were looking forward to seeing it. I reached out to the business and asked for a manager or owner. I was told that the employee I was speaking to could handle my issue. After explaining the problem and asking for a refund of the cost of the platter and shipping, she told me she needed to speak with the owner and get back to me. When the employee returned my call she said the owner had insured my package for $100 through the carrier and I should just submit a claim to them. I told the employee since they had poorly packaged the ceramics, they should make the claim and in either case, refund the cost. I then received an email from the owner stating that they make no refunds on items shipped. Although most people reading this will not need to utilize shipping from Create It, I think it is important to note the over-all attitude towards customer service. In this case, it would not be difficult for the owner to do the right thing. I will make the claim, but doubt it will be refunded since it's obvious to anyone that this package was in no way packed appropriately. read more

I come here quite often, and always have a fun time painting! Most staff members are always nice, however there's a typical employee that never welcomes you in, doesn't even want to help you, and is kinda rude. The past times I've come here to pick up my pottery the staff members wrap it up and sometimes give you a box or bag, but the past three times this employee doesn't wrap the pottery for me or offer a bag. There's no mannerism of any sort. Other than these past encounters the painting experience has always been great! read more

Super fun place to visit! I went with my partner for our anniversary and stayed for around 2 hours. The staff were so friendly and helped explain the painting and glazing process! All the molds are pre-made and they offer many fun statues as well as plates and mugs. The place was relatively cheap for the amount of time you get to stay and paint, all molds ranged from around $19 to $60! Now named Create It! is located nextdoor to Screamin Mimi's Ice Cream Shop. Such a relaxing atmosphere to sit down and relax your mind. They have a variety of pottery pieces to choose from. Prices for pottery painting are all inclusive, which means the price on the item you choose to paint includes: pottery, studio time, paint, glaze, and firing. With that said, I do feel it's a little pricey (of course, depends on what you choose to paint) - for two platters we paid $101. And if you want to return to finish your piece, you pay $5 in order to use their paints/tools (but, we we're given the opportunity to return without extra cost; which was nice - this is only temporary). And, once you are done with your pottery piece, you'll have it in your hand 7-10 days after - staff will call you when ready (Be sure to fill out the pottery slip with your contact number and turn it in with your piece when you are done). I appreciated the variety of acrylic paints available. They also have specialty glazes - "art n' jar glazes" and "recipe" pottery glazes that allow you to create unique effects and different look to your pieces - these are extra cost. Create It! is more than just pottery painting, you can choose to create a project with wood or glassfussion, join ladies night, or a summer camp for kids. Current COVID precautions: Create It! is currently taking reservations only. I called ahead of time for mine. The location is kept very clean and organized. Staff sanitizes between guests. Hand sanitizer is available for guests. Staff requests that you do not touch a pottery piece unless that's the one you will buy. The prices are a little higher than I remember from the pottery studio but the pieces are cooler, and the owner is amazing. She gave us just enough advice to take our piece from homemade trinket to amazing one of a kind piece of art. There are sample pieces all over the studio giving you great ideas when your mind isn't into creating (but your kid is.) Wonderful way to spend the afternoon. read more

I had my daughter's 10th Birthday Party here on a Sunday. Jen the owner did an incredible job hosting the party, from time of arrival to the moment we left. She was so good at handling 15 wild girls and explaining in detail what the process was. Jen had a smile on her face the entire time and was just on top of it. Normally when I leave a party place I am exhausted because the "hostess" that is normally promised like at epic center or rebounderz can never be found and are standing watching be do their part. Even the cake she jumped right in with a candle and lighter. She offered to cut the cake but I wanted to do that, so she offered to pass out the cake WOW!!! She was also so transparent about extra time and cost of the whole event keeping me in mind. I love that you can bring your own food and drinks, I came home this evening like wow what a great place of business and couldn't believe I had so much energy after a big party. read more

My daughter and I went in for the first time. Staff was friendly and there was a variety of different objects to paint. Various bowls,cups and figurines. My daughter choose to paint a shark. They have plenty of colors to choose from, various brushes, sponges, stencils etc. I liked that there was no pressure to hurry and you could spend as much time as needed. I took away one star due to the price, in my opinion it's a bit pricey, also you can't take your art home right away, you must you leave it for 5-10 days to have it set. read more

I brought in my 2 nieces on a slow Saturday. My 2 nieces are moving out of state next week, and the youngest was just diagnosed with a rare disease after multiple ins and outs of the children's hospital in Oakland. I wanted to give them a great experience, and this place had good reviews. Unfortunately, the older woman working there was awful and pretty much ruined it. She was nasty to my nieces, who were being well behaved. She was nasty because my niece had mixed the paint together on HER own palette and it couldn't be saved for someone else to use since it had been mixed. I'm here paying for the services who cares if my niece mixes the paints so she can use them? She was nasty to me when I asked to have the items shipped- there's a sign saying they can do it, why offer it then be nasty when someone asks? She was also nasty insinuating it's expensive like I couldn't afford it. Maybe don't treat customers this way? I also witnessed her being nasty to the two young women who were working there, which frustrated me. The young women were sweet and didn't deserve to be snapped at by her. She seems to be a miserable old woman who likes to take it out on women younger than her. I wish I could say we had a great time but it was awful. I will be sticking to the pottery place in napa from now on. read more

We've come here multiple times now unfortunately this time one of our pieces was brushed against something black and then fired with a black mark very noticeably on the side. When I called to alert the staff about the mishap it was brushed off as oh well this happens. We spent over $100 while there and would expect to receive the pieces we took care to paint back in the condition we left them in. It was a disheartening exchange and unfortunately no solution was offered to remedy the mishap. Keep in mind the pieces you take care to create might not be returned to you in the same condition. read more

If you're interested in taking your little ones to go outside and get crafty, or if you want some time to relax and be artsy, this place is for you! Such a cute little place to get the creative juices flowing! There are a lot of cool ceramic options that you can paint. The figurines range from ceramic animals (dogs, cats, etc.) to little houses and plates and dishes! Whatever you're in the mood to paint and create, they have! They also have a succulent station which I thought was sooo adorable, but maybe next time! You basically pick a glass container and fill it up with scoops of soil and then you can choose which type of succulent plants you want. They also have little decorations to make it more like a plant home. So cute! The owner was also really nice. I believe her name is Jen and she was very helpful and talkative, so everyone is welcomed. Prices vary and can be seen as a bit more on the expansive side but it takes about 3 or so hours to paint so you are really there for the experience. My partner and I have been to Glassfusion & Pottery Too twice; if I had my way, we would be going at least twice a month. We haven't partook in the glass fusion yet, but we have enjoyed painting the pottery. The selection of pottery is vast. My partner has chosen figurines to paint (frog and small gnome), but I prefer to paint creative designs on plain slates of bowls and mugs. Once, we were the only ones left painting near closing, and we never felt rushed by the owner or the girls working to hurry up. Last time, we went at opening, and it quickly filled up with large groups and children. It can be quite tight trying to get around a lot of children when trying to pick out pottery and paint colors. I don't know if they offer it, but I would *love* for them to offer an evening for wine & paint pottery night for just adults. Those that work here are always helpful with tips and refreshing clean water for cleaning brushes. I particularly enjoy that they would rather clean the palettes and brushes than have the customers do so, ha. read more

Such a fun family bonding activity to do! Great for all ages!!! As parents, we loved it! But our kids who are 20, 19, 15, and 7 all has a fantastic time. And, we decided we have some great artists in the family! Super fun time! The staff was very friendly and explained every detail. I saw fantastic reviews for Create It, and was excited to take my young children during this Thanksgiving holiday break. We entered and were greeted by friendly staff that provided us paint palettes and instructions on selecting paint and returning it to the wall, so that others could use it. After painting with a color, I walked to the sink to wash off the palette. "You can't wash it in my sink," yelled Jessica a staff member. I was standing in shock. That was not shared in the beginning. As a mom, I value listening and helping my kiddos out. Jessica's behavior was extremely unprofessional. She gave passive aggressive comments about the paint not going back to the wall in time. It was a uncomfortable environment. I wish it was a better first experience for my 4 and 6 year old children that also overheard Jessica taking a phone call, hanging up, and saying to herself, "Shit. Shit. Shit." Perhaps, she was having a bad day. I'm not sure. Based on this, I would not recommend this experience to other parents and caregivers. read more

Overall the Pottery itself was fun. The owner on the other hand is rude and insulting. The lady that worked at the front desk seemed so scared of her and very nervous to say or do the wrong thing. We just went here this past weekend to celebrate my moms 59th birthday and had such a great experience. A girl working there, Meg, went above and beyond to give us exceptional service. She was so kind and offered tips and help whenever we needed it. They had different paints that had different effects for when the ceramic was fired that looked really cool. We all picked some form of special effect paint and Meg made sure to offer an advice or experience with what she has done in the past that helped bring our vision alive, she also gave us many compliments and encouragement when we were maybe doubting our piece. I always appreciate good customer service and will go out of my way to appreciate those that give it... so thank you Meg for making my moms birthday celebration that much more special. I also want to add that we were all in masks, for some reason I have found that people find it easy to make masks a reason we don't communicate with others and just hide behind them... So it was so refreshing to get the service we did and have Meg make us feel comfortable and happy in a world that is still figuring it all out after this pandemic. My daughter and I came here today with the intention of creating two keepsake serving plates to go with our China. We were graciously greeted by an employee named Cora, who explained the process and patiently listened to what our ideas were. She showed us a variety of helpful photos with instructions on how to do them. It was great getting ideas and honing in on how we would accomplish our art piece. Upon viewing the high prices (the only reason I'm giving this place four instead of five stars)), we decided to make one large plate. This actually proved to be more special as we both collaborated on it together. Cora was extremely helpful in explaining how to be successful in our endeavor. I love being able to pick out something to paint and having the price include paint, studio time, firing and glazing. Most times it takes maybe 4 or 5 days to get your masterpiece back! Like so many others, on October 8, 2017 our house burned to the ground. My daughter's 10th birthday is October 21 and we had planned a big pool party, inviting her entire class for the fun. It was a very tender time for all of us, as we were living in a friend's RV until we could secure a rental. We scheduled a party at Glassfusion and Pottery Too, and they were so incredibly accommodating and kind. The party was so lovely, and when we received a call in the middle of the party requesting an interview for a rental, causing us to hustle to clean up, they jumped in to help get us there on time (we got the rental!). When I scrambled to pay, they let us know that the party was gratis; their way of giving back to those in need after the fires. I cried like a baby. Businesses like these deserve our business and support, as they exemplify the very best of what 'community' stands for. They set you up, provide suggestions, even clean up after. As a result, the place is as immaculate as a pottery studio can get, and you end up feeling relaxed and enjoying the time you are spending, rather than worrying if adding an extra color will result in additional clean-up.
