Since my husband and I live out of state, the employees told us (and it is clearly posted) that they would ship our items. I received the items yesterday and the platter was broken. Unfortunately, it was shipped in a very flimsy box with little tape and padding. The package was not secure in any way. Obviously we were disappointed that our item did not arrive as we were looking forward to seeing it. I reached out to the business and asked for a manager or owner. I was told that the employee I was speaking to could handle my issue. After explaining the problem and asking for a refund of the cost of the platter and shipping, she told me she needed to speak with the owner and get back to me. When the employee returned my call she said the owner had insured my package for $100 through the carrier and I should just submit a claim to them. I told the employee since they had poorly packaged the ceramics, they should make the claim and in either case, refund the cost. I then received an email from the owner stating that they make no refunds on items shipped. Although most people reading this will not need to utilize shipping from Create It, I think it is important to note the over-all attitude towards customer service. In this case, it would not be difficult for the owner to do the right thing. I will make the claim, but doubt it will be refunded since it's obvious to anyone that this package was in no way packed appropriately.

Update: I picked up my jelly fish lamp from my class and I absolutely love it! It's mesmerizing!…read more It comes with the lamp stand which has a pretty long cord, two color changing light bulbs with a remote, and the attachment to hang the tentacles. (Some assembly required.) Attaching the tentacles can be tricky once you factor in the space the light bulb takes up. I ended up not attaching all of them and storing the rest as spares in case something happens. I would lay down a towel or assemble over a soft surface in case you drop a tentacle. FYI Jelly fish lamp pick up is typically two weeks after your session. Most other projects are available for pick up 16-48 hours after. I messed up and came too early because I was very excited (about 1 week after the class). Douglass went out of his way to disassemble one of his premade jelly fish pieces for sale to give me the lamp stand so I could take it home there. That's outstanding service! But I also wanted to help others so this doesn't inconvenience him again... Highly recommend taking a glass blowing class with Douglass or a member of his team before he retires! (If he discontinues the jelly fish class I hope they replace it with a workshop like Build a Bear that lets you customize a jelly lamp from premade parts available and help you assemble it there in the shop. That way you can see exactly what you're getting, potentially get colors that can't be made in the class like the dark blues, have different textured tentacles, and have the satisfaction of taking your piece home right away!)

The glass blowing process takes about 10 to 15 minutes per person depending on what is being created for a tier one purchase, which is what we all had. I created a small vase and my boyfriend created a shot glass. Not only was the instructor incredibly talented, but his ability to give direction and instruct while creating a fun experience for everyone was just next level. We've already recommended this business to a few family and friends, and I definitely plan to take another class in the future.

It's our second time here for the vase class with Stephen and Kyle. Our first glass fusion dish class was with Mel. All three instructors were amazingly kind, patient and helpful for beginners like my sister and I. BAGI class tends to sell out very quickly. I highly recommend you follow them on social media such as Instagram for updates on their super popular classes. BAGI is located next to History Park on Phelan Ave. BAGI has its own gated spacious parking lot. Once you sign up, you'll receive an email with the gate's passcode. Drive through the gate, park, enter through the building labeled BAGI and enjoy your time here! The institute is divided into 2 parts: the front receptionist area with product displays (for sale) and the workshop for classes such as glass fusion and the "hot" shop for any glass blowing classes. Safety is a priority here as you'll see signs of "Eyeball" (meaning you need to wear safety glasses) everywhere around the studio. We felt like a kid in a candy store and were eager to explore all the creativity options around us. Don't let those cool shaped glass products intimidate you! You can do anything, especially with the help of their helpful instructors! Overall, we had a blast here! True the price is not cheap but considering the amount of work it takes to maintain this institute and the value of the lesson you'll receive, it's totally worth it in my opinion. Tips: they have Groupon for their glass fusion dish class and occasionally have seasonal sale :)

Such a fun and unique experience, perfect for anyone with any level of artistic ability!…read more My mom and I took a glassblowing class here and both opted to make the milk jug/small vase. They have a handful of tiers that have different items you can make including paper weights, ornaments, pumpkin, and a terrarium. Each tier is priced differently and gradually increases as you move up a tier. When you book/preregister for your class, you have to select the tier you want to make from, but you are able to change it when you get there. My mom had selected a tier 2 item when booking, but switched to tier 1 the day of, and we were charged appropriately. Instructors were very helpful and gave good insight and demonstrated how the process worked. They were very hands on, and could be even more so if you needed them to be. Our class had some younger kids as well as adults, and everyone was given great care and the assistance they needed. You take turns each making your piece one at a time, so the actual process per person probably took around 20 minutes for tier 0-2 items. Depending on class size and how many people are in your group/when you arrive, you could expect to be there anywhere from 1 hour to 2.5. You don't get to take your blowing home right away, it has to sit in a hot oven overnight to set, so I sadly haven't seen my finished product yet, but I can't wait to pick it up and start putting it to use! Good pro-tip, wear long sleeves! I wore short sleeves because I figured I would be too hot in long, but the molten glass is VERY HOT and can irritate your skin just from the proximity! My arm turned super red and had a little bit of a heat rash the rest of the day, but it went away by the next morning.

I didn't know what to expect but it ended up being such a fun and unique experience. It's easy to book your glass blowing session online and it's only $80 for a small item. My friends and I all made small pumpkins to remember our visit and they turned out to be so beautiful. The day we came someone was wrong with the oven. It wasn't as hot as it should've been but the workers teaching us were very cool and easy going and we were still able to make our glass. They gave great instruction and helped us the whole time. I learned so much and loved learning how to do this! I like that they can even mail you your item for a small fee since it takes a day or two to cool. I would definitely do this again! It's such a special experience.
