The seating in the main show area was perfectly arranged and angled so everyone had a great view no matter their height or where they were seated. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. The overall atmosphere had a very intimate, Magic Castle-style feel that made the entire experience feel special and immersive. Every part of the night felt thoughtfully designed and added to the magic of it all. We had an amazing time and are already looking forward to going again!

So, some people who are reviewing the programming or staff are actually reviewing SMC, not BroadStage or vice versa. I have never attended an SMC performance so I can't speak to their programming or staffing, but BroadStage has very interesting programming & very kind staff. Since BroadStage programming is so eclectic, though, some of it just isn't of interest to me. Different strokes....

Choose wisely what you come for. If your intuition tells you this artist was maybe brought in simply on connections and what community they're a part of then listen to your gut. I say all of this because there are so many deserving and talented productions out there that deserve and would love the privilege of being paid to perform here but to see the opportunities squandered on the same old stories and inner circle artists is enough for me to think long and hard before buying tickets to this theatre again.

This is a not for profit and it has professional actors, kids and armatures. It is small and there is not a bad seat in the house. Most of the staff are volunteers so be nice. You can order from their website. It has a great selection of plays, from kids plays (called the YES program) to musicals and some very serious plays. We have been so many times and have never seen a bad play and if you have a kid, it is a must you take them there. The prices are so fair and they a little snack bar inside. There is nothing not to like about this theater. It has nice places to eat nearby and it is a great area.

FACULTY: During my 2-year technique program I had both Anne Dremann and DW Brown. Two of the greatest instructors you can possibly have. My amazing growth is directly due to their hard work, knowledge and dedication to the art. And that goes for any instructor at Baron/Brown, I have had substitutes as well as private coachings from other instructors at the studio, and all of them are extremely hard working and dedicated. Any one of them would be willing to give you the world if you were willing to work for it, and it's truly inspiring to have that kind of support. I can't be more thankful and indebted to their devotion to the art. CULTURE: Hard work, that is all that is asked of you and if you bring that, your abilities and growth can be limitless. Everyone is welcome with open arms at Baron/Brown, a wonderfully diverse environment where everyone can thrive and build a true foundation for a long career in acting. It's usually clean and spacious that so many people can run around the track all at once. The community is also very respectful and the people that use SMC tracks are all very nice. Now that the are renovating the tracks, it is hard to find a track similar to what SMC provided. Still, the campus is a great place to run at even if there is no more track currently. I hear a lot of good things about the campus and everytime I visit, I think they either have built something new or renovated something !

Two main spaces, the 500-seat Gil Cates Theater and the smaller Audrey Skirball-Kenis Theater. My son and I attended a play - Table 17 and sat in the balcony box of the Gil Cates Theater. Box seats $139pp Pros 1. Very nice venue. An intimate space with every seat being a good seat. Great acoustics also. 2. Bathrooms are clean and grounds are well-kept. 3. Small bar area that sells food items and drink, including alcohol. 4. Patio area and seating in the lobby if you arrive early. Doors usually open 1 hour before showtime. Theater doors open 30 minutes before curtain time. Cons 1. Parking can be a challenge but not impossible. Metered street parking. Use the text to pay function because you can add additional time from your phone and receive reminders via text when your time is about to expire. There are also paid parking lots within walking distance. Prices will vary. I was impressed with Geffen Playhouse and will definitely be back. BTW - Table 17 was an amazing play - funny, thought provoking, and an attention grabber.
