The warmest, nicest little place for my sweet sensitive little one who was able to sleep train, potty train, and get off the baby bottle with the help of the most wonderful, knowledgeable teachers, and admin. My little one loves the bike yard and through imaginative play is the "car mechanic" for all the "cars" that breakdown in their cute Montessori-like village complete with bridge, tiny houses, tree house, sand pit and just an absolutely magical play yard. The classroom setting is very nurturing. Everything curated for the growth and development of the precious little ones. My three year old is reading at 1st grade level! passions and gifts are nurtured. My sister-in-law went here 40 years ago, and it's a sweet warm spot in the hearts of the entire family. read more

CCC has a new Director this year, Angela de Silva, who came from Palisades Montessori Center. She is an exceptional leader, educator and human being. Our son was with her for the preschool years at PMC and our daughter is with her now at CCC. We followed her to CCC after moving from the Palisades and we would honestly follow her anywhere. She is so experienced, she can truly understand the uniqueness of each child. Not as a bundle of behaviors at school, but with an eye to potential and a clarity on the best learning environments for development. That is not an easy feat for such young ones. She creates a culture of excellence amongst all the teachers and staff such that these kids are READY for kindergarten. They are reading, they are confident. And the magic is that the school curriculum is still play-based. It's fun. They LOVE school and they love learning. There is also such a wonderful parent and family community at CCC. Not in a high pressure, co-op kind of way, in a warm and welcoming way that allows all parents to participate regardless of how much time they have for actual volunteering. My experience with my two children at CCC has been nothing short of amazing. From the truly incredible and knowledgeable leader/director/principal Angela De Silva, (who recently came from the palisades) to all the wonderful, kind and warm teachers (special shout out to teacher Christy!) who always have the most fun activities planned for the little ones, everything is always so clean and organized and overall the school is such a warm environment with the perfect amount of structure to teach these kids young. There's always fun and festive events planned year round (especially for the holidays and is inclusive of all religions ), it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. It's exactly what preschool should be. I can't recommend this school enough. Honestly , Mrs. Angela is to thank for all that has gone into making this school what it is today. She's truly a rare breed. They don't make them like her anymore and as a parent I can't express enough how much I appreciate her and her hard work and effort . We sent our daughter here for three years, and can't say enough about how wonderful a school it is. Our daughter, who struggled with clinginess before she was two, has become an independent, caring, confident preschooler who never wanted to leave at the end of each day. The teaching staff make a huge amount of effort to really get to know the children and their families, and the CCC community really became our home during the time we spent there. I am sitting here, teary-eyed as we say goodbye to Creative Center and our little girl moves on to TK at elementary school. After a pretty exhaustive search a couple years ago, visiting tons of preschools, we decided it was worth the 20-30-minute commute to attend CCC. They have not disappointed us! The care, attention and love they have shown our daughter and family has been way above and beyond our expectations. Every single day they provide new, stimulating educational and experiential opportunities for the kids, from Tadpoles to Wise Owls. The kids graduate beyond ready for TK/K, both in terms of academics and social emotional development. In the summers, they arrange amazing and fun activities for the kids every day, such as petting zoo visit, bouncy house, foam party, music concert, etc, etc... Director Tracey is extremely knowledgeable and understands children's needs and development, which was difficult for me to find, as I was raised by an Early Childhood Development teacher and have pretty particular standards! Beyond that, the teachers, *especially* Teachers Xochi and Carla in Wise Owls, are ... I have no words!! The best I can do is: loving, caring, attentive, personable, approachable, invested and committed to turning our little ones into happy, smart, and well-adjusted little people by the time they finish at CCC. I will add that D'Andre, the security guard, is an absolute gem, who goes way above and beyond his duties, knows and cares for all the kids and families and develops relationships with each of them. Our youngest just wrapped up her two years at CCC, and I am so sad! These were some of the happiest years for me as a parent - knowing my kid was thriving, loved, and so well taken care of. She's made wonderful friends, and some amazing memories. The teachers were just incredible. So caring, attentive, patient and kind. The performances they would put on were just out of this world. I am so glad I have all the videos to look back on. Summer camp was always fun, with water days and trampoline. Snow days in winter, with real snow. We have 2 children at CCC right now. One is a Wise Owl for the second time as she missed the cut off for TK. My youngest is now a Tadpole and will be there for Another 2 years at least. We visited a bunch of preschools prior to making our decision and we are so glad we chose CCC. The school is a great place for kids to be kids and learn. The teachers and staff are great. I know that everyone has the experience they want to have. If your a super nervous over protective parent then you might find some issues with the school as they allow kids to be kids and work out the disagreements they have. Are there kids who hit, push, bite and disobey? Of coarse there are, but I believe that is unique to ALL preschools. If you can let go of your own personal issues and let the school do its job then you will thrive in this school or any school that matter. What has proven itself to be true time and time again is that kids are kids and as much as we the parents wish things would be a certain way, it's not. Kids do the craziest things, but what I have found is that the parents who complain LOUDLY about other kids hitting pushing or biting is that their kids usually end up hitting, pushing and biting. Moral of the story is let the kids be kids and give the school the opportunity to do what they do. This is an amazing school, they prepare the kids better than many other preschools and there's no way anyone in this school has ever been abused. The real problem is the parents. Some people will just never be happy and no matter how hard you try to please them it will never be enough for them. If I had more kids they would also go here and we will recommend this school as we have for years to anyone That is looking for a positive learning experience for their children. This is for them and as parents we should try to let go a little and let them do what they do. If you pass on this school because of a couple of bad reviews and you ignore the good ones, it's probably better you don't come here. This is not Burger King and they won't do it your way so if that's not good for you, go somewhere else and impose yourself on them please. We have a beautiful environment here at CCC that just does not need the unnecessary drama from parents who can't control themselves. If my review is offensive to you, then your probably the parents I'm referring to, but if my review makes sense, come to CCC as I'm sure you will be open to having the unbelievably positive experiences we have had here. I have a child at CCC currently who is wrapping up after 2 1/2 years. I cannot express enough gratitude and thanks for a wonderful experience over this pre k journey. Our daughter has really flourished and now as a "wise owl", she walked across the stage yesterday in one of the sweetest graduation ceremonies. Not a dry eye in the crowd. The team at CCC is fantastic, the Director caring and thoughtful. The team goes out of their way to ensure a clean and warm environment, a happy hello to every child who walks in, and daily encouragement for the children to be the best version of themselves. The rooms are decorated with art, science references and cultural artifacts. Whether attending a weekly cultural event, sports day, or one of the many parent friendly events...the kids thrive! The relationships made at the school are unique...my oldest daughter attended another program in LA and didn't have nearly the same experience. Cant recommend it enough. read more

My son has been at CCC for a year now and has another amazing year ahead. We have LOVED our time here and our son feels so cherished, safe, challenged, and so happy! We were nervous to join along with a new director last year, but Tracey is incredible - professional and deeply experienced but also very warm, flexible, and open and quick to address any needs and concerns. With our older son, we experienced multiple other schools in the area. They had some newer buildings and touted extensive curriculums, but they do not compare to CCC in terms of play integrated with learning, diversity in students and staff, nurturing environments, and teacher dedication. We have four experienced teachers (two main, two assist) that our son works with and have had ZERO teacher turnover throughout our time here. Most of the teachers have been here for years because they love this school. The space seemed small and simple (maybe even old school) to us at first, but they use it to the maximum effect - and it is so outstanding that they have actual swings and monkey bars. The learning is tailored to the kids, includes their interests and cultures, encourages community participation, and constantly amazes the parents. Cleanliness and safety are attended to diligently and procedures are followed, but the kids are always first. Parents are encouraged to be a part of the school and classroom, they host many family events, and there is a true community here. We could not be happier! read more

As to the owner's claims that the allegations were "unsubstantiated", the ONLY reason there was "no evidence" is that the school didn't have any video recordings and because my toddler was too scared to speak to the LAPD when they came stomping into my home with guns. My daughter was assessed by a UCLA doctor as having severe PTSD related to this event. The doctor herself reported CCC to the LAPD and child services. Sadly, this medical assessment was not considered sufficient evidence. Beware of any Director that tells you night terrors are a common occurrence. It's not. Ask your pediatrician. Lastly, I'm incredibly disappointed in the parent stating in his review that no child has been abused as though it's fact. He doesn't know me, my family, or what we have been through. He clearly has heard one side of the story from the school and made no further efforts to learn the truth. I find it irresponsible and ignorant. Parents, please TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS and WATCH if your child is acting differently. Talk to your pediatrician if you have doubts. read more

We were only at CCC for 5 months, but boy were we sad to leave! We left only because we moved. The curriculum here is incredible. My kiddo's language exploded here. Director Tracey and all the teachers here work hard to make sure learning is fun. And they do Spanish in Thursdays, and my kid's Spanish was so great! All of the teachers are absolutely loving. In the summer they do "Water Days" twice a week, my kid loved it. They had full on water slides on those days. They have a lot of family days during the year which is a lot of fun. They do so many special visitors for the kids. They teach about all sorts of cultures and holidays. The facilities are really nice. Large classrooms with a lot of really great learning toys and arts and crafts. The parents are very active in donating to the classroom which helps. They have great hours for working parents. I felt safe sending my kid here. They hired an incredible security guard when things got seedy for a moment, and luckily he remained when we though he'd be temporary (Director Tracey was fully transparent of issues with terrible tenants next to us--the issue has since been resolved). Director Tracey was so great. Her passion for the school really showed. All the teachers are so kind, and give great feedback about your child if you have questions. read more

My son has been going to CCC for two years now. When we started he had never been in a school setting or around other kids. The teachers were patient and loving. I received daily updates about his progress. By the end of the first school year, he had friends and grew so much. The school also has so many activities for parents to attend. As a result, even though I work full time, I feel very involved with my son's education and we are making memories in the process. The CCC community is wonderful. We have two boys. Our first boy went there under the previous ownership. It was a great experience. Our second boy has been there for two years. The new ownership change happened about 9 months after he started. This place has improved dramatically! The previous owners didn't know how to use email. Not kidding. The new director is very email capable--this makes life much easier. Once they took over, they completely renovated the entire place. It's much, much better. It's safer (less blacktop), it's nicer (fresh paint, etc.)--it's unbelievably better. Now, they do tons of activities: firemen come to visit, there's a snow day (they fill the place with snow), field trips--there's always something going on. Before, it was very rare to have a special event. My little guy comes home with some art or a project nearly every day. He's learning all his letter and numbers and manners and potty training; much of that I owe to CCC. My only complaint would be that they close too early; makes it difficult to get there on time after work. read more

My seven year old daughter went to the preschool for 3 years and was very prepared for the transition into kindergarten with the previous owners and it was a wonderful experience for her. I currently have my 3 1/2 year old boy/girl twins attending the school and I was a little apprehensive with the new ownership change after having gone through three years with my first daughter. However, it's gone through some major improvements and upgrades especially the playground area. My kids are very active and being outside is wonderful for them to be in a fun and safe enclosed area. The staff is absolutely amazing, the children love and respect all the teachers and really get involved in the daily activities, they never want to leave when I pick them up to go home! The enhancement classes that occur on a weekly basis are a real added bonus for my twins and both are really benefitting from all the extra activities and exposure to the Spanish language, music, culture, physical education and the arts! I'm extremely happy overall with the new regime, the director, Lily is wonderful and she runs a tight ship. I honestly was worried when the teachers changed in our class, but my children have adjusted amazingly well and seem so happy in their loving, safe and nurturing environment. My children really adore all the teachers and I've seen huge strides in their intellectual, emotional and physical growth and feel very fortunate to be a part of it all and meeting all the really nice parents at some of the events has made it all extra special for me. read more

In fairness, my son (age 2.5) JUST started at CCC one month ago, but I wanted to share my initial feedback since it's been so reassuring thus far, especially in this challenging time with so many different regulations due to COVID. My son comes home happy, bubbly and talkative every day. His vocabulary has expanded notably already. The teachers spend time giving me recaps about his experiences during pickup and through the Brightwheel app. The Tadpole (2s class) parents all seem really committed to safety, health and doing the best things for our kids, so it's great to have that community. My son had a tough time the first week going potty at school, but the teachers were so patient and helpful, and now he's comfortable with it no problem, no accidents. I wanted to write an update as we have over a year of experience at CCC now. Both of my sons have attended and we have experience with all three levels of classes from the Tadpoles to the Wiseowls. CCC has the BEST teachers around! They are loving, fair, patient and kind. I always know what is happening with my son and am kept apprised of the things he's learning, working on etc. CCC is constantly trying to find new and interesting ways to engage the kids. The family events that they put on are always fantastic and my kids both love to hang out there and play. The parents are wonderful too and everyone is very open to cultural differences and in fact, they are celebrated! I truly couldn't ask for a better place to leave my child while I'm working...I know that everyone from the Director to the teachers truly cares for the welfare of every single child there. I can't speak highly enough about this school and we will miss it dearly once we outgrow it. read more

The first thing to keep in mind if you're considering CCC is that the website better describes the school that CCC used to be than what is now; the new owners have not updated the site to reflect the new administration's philosophies, policies or programs, and much has changed. Here are some of the biggest, good and bad: 1) They have increased the teacher-student ratio from 1:6 to 1:9 (at times it was higher than that), while at the same time lowering the age of admission. In our class, we had one child who hadn't even turned two when he started. NAEYC calls the combination of 2 and 3 year olds in one class a mixed age classroom and recommends a ratio of 1:4. The effect for a first year preschool classroom is particularly disastrous - the teachers have so many diapers to change and so many more behavioral issues to deal with that the focus becomes more classroom management than education, and a lot of conflicts go unmanaged (biting, hitting etc.) and diapers unchanged. As of March 2013, the school was no longer NAEYC accredited, although it was in the process of trying to get reaccredited. 2) They are also becoming more academic, with letters of the week and other curriculum changes, including computers in the older years. The owner stated to our parents' group that the goal of the school was to "have your children be bored in kindergarten." Other than that, I have not heard any sort of statement of philosophy from either the owners or the director. 3) Xochil, CCC's wonderful first year teacher who had been there for 14 years, left because she was not happy with the new regime, and another first year teacher is on the way out as well. Although we liked all of our daughter's teachers (including the ones who are still there), our sense is that we were just overwhelmed and perhaps even a little beaten down by the number of young kids in their classroom. 4) They have added enrichment programs like P.E., spanish and music. 5) They have upgraded the yard. Obviously, the balance of changes was not to our liking and we decided to pull our daughter out in March despite the difficulty of making a switch in the middle of the year, the convenient location (they were 10 blocks from our house ) and long hours they offer. She is now back in a developmental school with kids her own age and a 1:6 ratio and all is good - except our drive time. read more

Our five year old daughter is currently enrolled in CCC and she LOVES going to school every day. She only goes half days, but so much happens in that short period of time. She adores her friends and teachers and loves all the activities she gets to participate in. There is gym, music class, Spanish, computer day, all the arts and crafts they get to do. She loves her class library and she loves loves loves the playground. But more than anything, she loves the performances that she and her classmates put on for all the major holiday celebrations. My husband and I love how the school recognizes so many cultures and asks that parents of different heritages come and speak to the children about their own traditions. It's so amazing to see our daughter learn about other cultures. The school takes pride in making it a family community. And we love how the school reaches out to the parents to participate in so many of the fun activities. All the classrooms were recently renovated and they look spectacular! Our daughter has been attending The Creative Center for Children since last year and this being her final year I have to say, we could not have chosen a better preschool to help her transition into Kindergarten. We hope to enroll our two year old next year. One thing I have to say about the teachers is that they are AMAZING! I have enjoyed getting to know all of them and especially love that our daughter feels the same way. There is a sense of pride in her when she talks about them, so I know she is being treated well. As for our director, like every director of a school (I'm sure), she sure has a tough job, but what she does with this school and all the activities she coordinates for the children is something to be applauded for. If I'm so proud to send my daughter there, it must speak volumes of how I feel about the work she does. And she is sweet, too. Bottom line...Creative Center for Children has been a great start for our daughter's educational journey and I'm confident it will be that for our two year old as well. read more

My daughters are currently attending this preschool and they love it. The administrators and staff are very experienced and very caring with the children. My kids come home everyday with good stories to tell about the fun day they had at school. read more

What can I possibly add to all the other fabulous reviews given by other grateful parents about CCC? There aren't enough superlatives in my vocabulary. CCC is literally a gem unlike any other. It's clean, it has a large open space that's walled off from the outer neighborhood where the children can play in secure surroundings, and best of all, it has teachers who really care about the kids. There's a good balance between learning and playtime, and the kids get the best of both worlds. The surest testimony I can give is that my son can't wait to go to school each morning! There are also many activities planned by Director Lily and the staff, all of which put CCC a cut above other preschools. My favorite is the holiday performance, which was nothing less than spectacular this year. Another treat - Snow Day! That's coming up in a few days. CCC has a snow machine brought in and the entire play area is covered with snow! Can you believe it? There's a lot of fun, education, caring, and loving at CCC. Who could possibly ask for more for their child? If you're looking for a truly wonderful preschool for your child, look no further. CCC is the place to be. read more

A loved teacher of 14 years quit today. This is the second teacher since the new owner and director. How many more? Yes, the playground is nice and all the pictures displayed on the tv office look great but when you get to the core of this school, it is ruined. The teachers are miserable. Most parents are unhappy. No one's opinion matters and no one is respected. If you have a concern, you get brushed off and told to find another school that fits your needs. This is no longer a warm caring happy school. A very sad day for the teachers and parents. read more
