We absolutely love this school and can't say enough good things about it. Our daughter came here when she was 4-months old. It's so hard to send your baby somewhere especially when they are so young. After touring a handful of daycares, I felt in my gut this was the right place. It was intimate enough to know my daughter was going to be seen and that the Aunties would be able to get to know her. I was right. My baby grew so much while she was there and all the Aunties truly loved and cared for her. They felt like an extension to our family. I highly recommend this place. Our daughter's primary teacher was Auntie Cecilia and we loved and adored her. But also every Auntie there was so wonderful. I love this school. I was really nervous sending my 2-year-old to preschool. She looked so little! But the teachers at Village Tree (called Aunties by the kids) took amazing care of her, cuddling her and helping her through that difficult first week, and now my daughter can't wait to go to school each morning. She's thrived there, coming home still singing songs she's learned or this week she ran around yelling "blast off" after doing a project about rockets and space. We joined the "village" shortly after renovations were completed. My toddler had just turned 2 years old and after one day became a big sister. The timing was actually perfect, and we saw her bloom. The owners, administration, and especially the aunties are all amazing. There is a schedule for the day. It never gets boring, since there is an always changing theme with correlating activities. Village Tree create such a wonderful learning environment. My girl comes home with such enthusiasm about what she learned & did. The place is spotless, open concept and well taken care of. The children move from space to space throughout the day. Bathrooms are spotless. The outdoor area is shaded, and they have a large playground equipment along with smaller activities. There's also a new converted garage in the back, with a loft like tree house structure that all the kids huddle together while an Auntie share a book. Healthy (& mostly organic) snacks are provided. Wish lunch is provided, but unfortunately you'll have to pack it. The aunties will open & get it ready for your child. There's two designated street parking spots & a tandem parking on the drive way. Very rarely have we had to park elsewhere. They've done field trip to the fire station. The highlight for my child was riding the tandem stroller to & from. Haha. They do regular nature walks, outfitted in marching bright orange shirts. Seriously, we were on wait list for quite some time. Then waited and waited for renovations to complete for "little" Village tree location to open. It was all worth it. My child loves her friends, and absolutely loves all the aunties. My son LOVES this school and all the aunties. They do such a great job of making each child feel special. My son transitioned to Village Tree from an in-home daycare so I was worried about how he would fit in coming from a smaller setting. He had 2 playdates and turned around and said "bye mommy". He knew he was in the right place and he felt so comfortable being there because everyone was so friendly. My son comes home telling me new words and phrases that he has learned with his auntie Lorena. The school is also very diverse, which was important for me and my family. My son began attending VTP at 18 months and remained there until 35 months. Overall, we've had a positive experience with the school. The aunties show so much love and care for my son. They take the time to ensure he drinks enough water, eats most of his lunch, supports with potty training, accommodates us with providing milk in the cup we send to school, and much more. Since beginning VTP, my son has learned to count from 1-17, says his alphabets, learned school rules (sharing, taking turns, etc), sings songs, sits patiently and listens during circle time, wears a mask almost all day, interacts with his peers and much more. The school also creates excitement during Valentine's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. They have lessons for the week like careers, friendship, outer space, germs, and much more. Aunties provide lesson plans which include the book they will be reading, songs they will listen to and the activity they will be working on with the children. This helps parents prepare their child for what to expect for the day and work on these lessons at home. Aunties really do take the time to discuss my child's day with me when I pick him up. The school also utilizes an app where I am able to chat with aunties and view pictures. During the pandemic, my son attended VTP from July until the end of August. The school has taken many precautionary steps to ensure children's safety including cleaning everyday after children leave. Although, we've had a few occasional issues like ensuring diapers are changed properly and not rushed. The director and aunties have tried to do everything possible to correct any matters of concern. Our child went to VTP for a little bit over a year and he LOVED it. They're very accommodating on schedules and all the different personalities/temperaments that kids may have. My boy sometimes would cry because I had to take him home at the end of the day! They help immensely when you're in the process of potty training, adhering to a schedule and taking notes of your child's training. I cannot say enough good things about this place. My son Max enrolled at 18 months, and the teachers have been consistently warm, engaging and comforting. It was a great relief to have him excited to go to school and barely saying goodbye to me as he rushes off to be with his teachers and the other children. If you are a parent of a toddler in West Los Angeles, it can be incredibly tiring to search for a preschool that is affordable, has accessible parking (or isn't on a very busy street), and goes above and beyond when it comes to caring for your child. VILLAGE TREE PRESCHOOL has all of those things and more! I looked for several months before I was ready to transition our (then) 18 month old son from a small in-home daycare to a traditional preschool. During the tour, Jade (the director of both Village Tree preschools) and Sandhya (the head of Village Tree-Clarington) led us on a tour of the facility and answered any and all questions with a smile and an open heart. I knew just from the tour that this would be the perfect place for our son-it was very safe, loving, welcoming, and with a small population of children that he wouldn't get lost amongst too many kids (but also big enough that he would be able to learn how to socialize in a larger group setting, not just the 6 kids he was used to from daycare). Even though our son took some time to transition to the new environment, the aunties (their name for the teachers) were great about informing us daily of how he was doing, which really helped alleviate our concerns. Every day at pick up and drop off, the aunties open the door to the school with a smile and a warm greeting, and they have been instrumental in our son's social and verbal development (he talks so much and about all different topics, including all his friends at the school). It is so evident that they love each child dearly and care about the families! We loved our time at Village Tree - Clarington, and literally cried when we had to leave because we moved. Our son started here at 18 months old, and from the first day he was comfortable, smiling at drop-off (a parent's dream!). So much of that was because of the warmth and enthusiasm of the wonderful "aunties," as the teachers are called. The physical space is organized, clean, and spacious with cute cubbies, play areas, napping areas, story rug, and three outdoor (mostly covered) play areas. There is a play-based curriculum, and a great balance of fun and learning. You pack your own lunch, but snacks are provided. Every single day our son left happy and well cared for. I highly recommend this preschool. My only suggestion would be a parent code box at the front rather than having to ring the doorbell and have an auntie answer. read more
