    Orlando Gay Chorus at Immerse
    Erin G.

This event was an assault on your senses. In a good way of course, besides getting you to think, there was lights, sounds, smoke, and excitement. I just missed the orchestra and the aerial act but I did have a wonderful time. My favorite was Citizen O for simple execution and emotion. You wrote a letter to a stranger put it in the envelope and dropped it in the mail slot. Then you opened a drawer and got a letter to take home. I was with 2 other friends and each letter was unique and thoughtful. I will treasure mine. I love City Arts Factory and so did my friends. In fact we hit the Noir Cafe and one of my friends purchased a print. Their art is so accessible and fun!!! Last act we caught was the Orlando Gay Chorus. A very professional group that did a performance explaining the rainbow flag. Besides beautiful voices I actually learned something. I had seen them before however this performance was very moving. Well done.

On my way downtown to attend the Creative City Project, I got stuck in traffic, and got in a really bad mood. Orlando is way too crowded, and I started thinking, maybe it's time for a move. I started grumbling to my boyfriend about how "over Orlando" I am, and I am tired of the people and tired of being stuck in my car for way too long. I was ready to turn around and go home. Then we finally parked and walked over to the first stage area of the Creative City Project, and I remembered why I love this city. We have an amazing talented community of artists and creative types that make Orlando unique. And this event showcases it beautifully. From a wide array of musicians, to artists working on their craft, to dancers showcasing their talents, there was no shortage of entertainment at this huge, multi-block covering extravaganza. There was even a block of Ryder trucks with various showcases, featuring performance art, yoga meditating, and even a dark room. And to top it all off, this event was free. To have this kind of event take over downtown on a Saturday night is pretty cool, and reminded me that maybe Orlando isn't so bad. (Although I will point out, the city could maybe plan a little better ahead of time and put out more trash cans, as there was garbage everywhere since the tiny street side cans were over flowing. I may have picked up a piece of plastic or two, but that's my green guilt issue I need to deal with.) I am glad I didn't turn around go home as I originally wanted to when I was stuck in traffic, because this was such a fun event to check out! Can't wait to see what's in store for next year.

This is such a great initiative! Exposure and appreciation of the arts creates an excellent city atmosphere! This event is great for all ages, so much to see! I'm enjoying the ballet, cirque aerial performances and the break dancing! Such a fun night out & free! Another reason to love Orlando!

What an absolutely amazing family event!! The FREE price tag is awesome in addition to the fact that you get to see some unique and creative performances of all sorts, come alive in the middle of downtown. Seeing a lit up piano stroll down Orange Ave on a Saturday night with a beautiful singer belting Elton John, honestly can't get better. Cirque de Soleil put on an insanely talented aerial show in addition to local step teams, flamenco singers, and local dance studios. Downtown had such an amazing energy last night. We definitely need more of these types of events !!!

I love how beautiful the stairwell is going up to two. I love how much they have expanded their food and beverage line up over the years. The sound tends to be pretty good, the communication from the theatre is always amazing. They waive fees if you come to the box office to buy your tickets. The seats are comfy and almost every seat has a solid view. The box seats are the exception so be warned. The volunteers are always amazing and they are so nice. It would be cool if they opened a second location that served coffee because that line for espresso beverages is always really long. I love the breadth of show types. There's always something for everyone.

Wednesday, March 18, 2026…read more Front Row, Center Tickets to Ms. Diana Ross' Concert Performance I've been to numerous events at the Dr. Phillips Center but nothing beats having the opportunity to see a legend perform within arms-length to where you're seated. And when that "Icon of Icons" is none other than Ms. Diana Ross...well, nothing else need be said. It was a dream come true to say the least. In my most previous update of the Dr. Phillips Center I indicated meeting with and having my photograph taken with the incredible soprano Sarah Brightman was an entertainment highlight of 2025. 2026 has just begun but I will have to use the superlative "spectacular" once again. As in a spectacular show from start to finish. Diana Ross may be 81 years old!...but she still has the voice and ahem...the moves of a much younger performer. Just think of this, she was performing with the Supremes in the 1960's. I wasn't even born and by the time I was she had 12 number one singles with the OG of girl groups! And she is still working it to this day. Ms. Ross sung a multitude of her hits which kept the crowd, and my sister and I, dancing and singing throughout the evening. However, when she started to belt out Gloria Gaynor's anthem "I Will Survive" that really got the audience out of their seats. An Icon singing and Iconic piece of music is an experience second to none. Ms. Ross, you and your mark on music history is unmatched...blessings to you and your family!

This production delivers a level of entertainment that surpasses anything I've seen at Dr. Phillips. The show transports you to a time when confidence felt earned, ambition was fueled by self‑belief, and the dream of success pulsed through every city street. Three cousins reunite unexpectedly in 1970s New York City, each chasing their shot at rhythm‑and‑blues stardom. Having been in NYC during that era myself, the musical stirred memories of a time when music wasn't designed to shock--it was meant to lift the spirit, soothe the soul, and move you from the inside out. This show captures that perfectly. From the moment the curtain rises, the audience is swept into a world that never disappoints. By the end of the evening, you realize you've been entertained more deeply than any amusement park or theater in the region could ever promise. If the spirit of James Brown, Otis Redding, or Jackie Wilson can be felt anywhere today, it's on this stage. Absolutely loved it.

I wouldn't recommend section C - they had those tall metal chairs that look uncomfortable in that section. Unfortunately for you, all remaining performances of Buddy Holly are completely sold out. ENVIRONMENT This is a nice theater. The lobby is quite nice. There are simple refreshments available for purchase. The seats are sufficiently spacious, padded, and comfy. The way the theater is set up, you can't really get a bad seat. We arrived 2 minutes late for a sold-out show and parking was a bit problematic. I recommend arriving early! BUDDY HOLLY STORY My husband wanted to see this. Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to it. But it was a very good show. The acting performances were much better than I've seen in other theater companies (coughmadcowcough) and the music was a joy to watch. I sat next to an older gentleman who lived during the time period of this show and he very much enjoyed it, saying he wanted to see it again. QUALITY COMPARED TO OTHER LOCAL THEATERS This is the top reason I recommend you make the drive out here. I've been to a few different theaters around the Orlando area and I thought this theater was significantly better. The environment is much more spacious and comfortable, the acting and performance was much more engaging and convincing, and they seem to have either more talented people or more resources to pull off a much better stage and set design, costumes etc. I get the impression these people are professionals.

The theatre itself is small but the stage is decently sized and every seat in the house has a pretty darn good view which is awesome! That's the only perk that was taken advantage. We saw no difference in timing on seating when it came to a non packed show (the show starts exactly the same time for everyone) and we saw no difference in better drinks. We arrived as a party of 2 and they had our ticket ready at the front with the name it was booked under. We went through a cute speakeasy that takes place in Chicago. Walked to the bar to get a drink. This part was a long wait. The line was long. Someone ended up coming over and asking us what we wanted and grabbed it for us so we can sit down. We thought we were eating dinner during the show. Nope. Two separate areas. This is why when purchasing it tells you it's 6:30-10:00pm. The starters came out and they were good. Bread. Mozzarella sticks. Salads. Then the entrees came out and that was terrible. The chicken parm must have not been fresh. Frozen? The lasagna was okay. The pasta was less than ok. Everything had the same sauce actually. The food really was not good. And our bodies surely did react to eating this food. The dessert? Pass. The show was not necessarily what we thought. Think less gangster. Think more cheesy. We were engaged though and shared some laughs. Overall it was a relaxing night but it would only get a 3 - 3.5 star for the overall experience. Also if you're booking online, they don't tell you but you should bring cash to tip.
