If you are invested money in projects where you are hiring this company and are looking for professionals... this IS NOT the company to go with. Im still trying to understand. I worked with Margret, the owner of the company on both consultations. I'm a return customer. 1st time was to pick out interior colors and was satisfied with receiving them with in a couple days. I was told it was nice to work with me and looked forward to helping further on my remodel. I had a second consultation to pick home exterior paint colors as our home was being resided a month. During the, "consultation" this timeline was explained to her and she said no problem. After waiting over a month with no response I contacted the company and the owner, Margret, sent me this email... "Got your message from the office and sorry - this has been unfinished in my drafts and I just have been too busy with consultations and remodeling to wrap up. No charge for the visit and sorry - I just am better to focus on the work I have lined up and here." I replied to her I had the contractors her putting up siding and really needed the color choices. She replied "sorry, I'm going on vacation and cannot help you." In an email response. I'm honestly just floored. Agains, if you have money invested in projects and are looking for professionals... this IS NOT the company to go with. If you want to sell your house--STAGE IT! We had a very nice realtor and followed her suggestions to repair our deck, do touch up painting, take down the family photos, and de-clutter our house. I refused to repaint the beautiful family room my wife and I had painted--one wall a gorgeous purple and another a bright yellow. Then we put our house up for sale. In the three months the house was listed we had one couple look at it. Four months later we let our new realtor have control. She hired a stager (the wonderful Margaret) to take over. We hired a painter to replace the vibrant purple and yellow with a subtle and neutral light gray. He repainted the gaudy bathroom my wife loved. We removed about 50 attractive canvases and photos my wife had taken. We sold, gave away, or stored 3/4 of our nice but dated furniture. We rolled up our rugs so the hardwood floors showed. We de-cluttered times two! Then Olivia came in. She bounced in with Creative Concepts' tables and couches and chairs and carpet and art work and fake plants and decorative books and art objects for the tables and shelves. It was horrible! She turned our formerly beautiful home which was full of character into a bland, neutral upscale hotel room. And guess what? We had hundreds of views on line, nearly 100 saves and two offers, one was $16,000 above our asking price! 10 days after it went on line we were selling our house. So, as much as you love your house and all those wonderful things you figured out to make it perfect. Just let it all go! Have Margaret come out, look at your house, and tell you what you need to do to sell it. After several months on the market, and some bad advice from the first realtor, I decided that it was probably time to address some cosmetic issues and do some staging on my late mother's 1956 Corvallis home, which had never been updated. Needless to say, the house had issues, including a roof at the very end of its life, an awful pet urine odor, evidence of previous rodent activity, dirty, chipping plaster walls, some nasty wallpaper and panelling, outdated lighting and flooring, outdated bathrooms (one of which had carpet, eww), no baseboards, and uneven flooring in some places. I reside in Colorado, which added a whole other level of difficulty and frustration. (Trying to sell a home 1300 miles away is VERY difficult, especially for a Type A personality...) I had contacted a contractor for an estimate. On a whim I did a Google search for home stagers in the area to stage the home once the work was done. I found Creative Concepts reviews, and spent quite a bit of time on their website reading articles and reviewing before and after photos. I also found their Facebook page. I decided to contact them for a staging estimate. Through our correspondence, Margaret let me know that her company also does contracting, and she would like to take a look at the home and provide a second estimate. I am SO glad I agreed! Margaret was very honest, and had to convince me on a couple of items that she felt would make a big impact for buyers walking through the door. She looked at everything through the eyes of a buyer. She also informed me of the bad advice that my realtor had given me. After a conversation with another realtor friend who agreed the advice was terrible, I terminated the agreement and found another local realtor. The estimate I was provided was VERY fair and reasonable, and actually a little lower than the other contractor I had been working with. I had a fairly small budget ($18,000) to address the numerous problems. Somehow, she was able to address all of the issues, and then some, within that budget. Very shortly thereafter, she and her team began the work. My prior contractor stated it would take 6 weeks to complete. Margaret's team completed the work in 2. Immediately following the construction, she staged the home BEAUTIFULLY! I have NEVER seen my mother's house look so warm and inviting. Just stunning. We were back on the market in no time, and listed the home over $40,000 higher than our original list price. In less than 3 weeks on the market, we had a very strong offer - $59,000 higher than any other offer we had received when we first listed all those months ago. (Do the math: The home was originally on the market for 4 months, and the highest offer we received was $220,000. For an $18,000 investment, we were under contract for $279,000 in less than 3 weeks. Amazing!) While the house was under contract, we experienced an unfortunate break-in. Within 30 minutes of hearing about the break-in, Margaret and her team were back in the house fixing the busted doors and changing locks. An immediate response, which I was so very grateful for. I cannot recommend Creative Concepts enough. Margaret was incredibly responsive throughout the project (very respectfully putting up with all of my anal-retentive emails needing to know every little detail of the project). Her design was spot-on, and she was absolutely CORRECT in her advice. I wish I had known months prior about Creative Concepts, as it would have saved me a lot of stress, a lot of money and time, and at least 50 gray hairs. I am forever grateful for Creative Concepts. My husband and I own a rental property in Salem, and will definitely be using her services again for any updating/construction projects while we own the home, and staging when/if we sell it. The staging was absolutely beautiful and facilitated a quick sale on our home. Staging is the only way to go, and the staging was perfect. I give 5 stars for the staging, but only 1 star for the removal of the staging. I can only give the average of the two. 3 stars. The home sold quickly and was a cash offer, no inspection, no appraisal; closing happened fast. As per the contract there is an additional $75 for a rush removal (anything before a 10 day notice). I had no problem with that, at least until I realized that the rush removal must have meant leaving marks all over the walls (new paint interior throughout) while removing furniture. Paint chipped when taking wall hangings down, and nails left in walls, left in the carpet and all over the hardwood floor. I paid an additional $75.00 and had to go in and clean up and pick up after them. All the good of the staging was negated by the lack of care in the removal. read more
