The main reason I chose him was he came recommended by a friend. My friend had seen him for over a year and found some help with his issues around anger. (my friend has since gone to another therapist that really helped set him free of 40 years of shame induced rage) Over the year my friend went to him I heard weekly about the illustrations, helps, and directives he received from Dr. Munroe. Then, as I met with Dr. Munroe, for very different issues than my friends, I started to hear all the exact same stories, illistrations, and directives my friend had received . They were almost exactly the same... he seemed so cookie cutter in his approach to me and my struggles. As Dr. Monroe stretched out on his recliner office chair he would read his phone text's and respond to them as I was sharing my heart, my pain, my confusion. He just glance over from time to time seemingly disinterested as I was going though one of the hardest season's in my life. On top of that, he often would often spend a lot of my therapy time talking about how wonderful a husband he was to his wife, how he was respected by the community, the amazing success stories he had with other clients, and his plan's for the upcoming year's adventures. I am glad he has such a wonderful personal testimony but after about 4 months I realized I was paying a LOT of money to a man who does know how to offer Mental Health advice and some Biblical support for his advice... but really didn't seem interested in me as a person. I realized I needed someone who didn't separate so much of his heart form his work and could offer soul care to a wounded man. I am doing much much better after finding another therapist that really cared for me and helped me walk through that very dark and painful time. I am glad my friend had experienced some good from Dr. Munroe, but my experience wasn't so wonderful.

During that time several of her employees quit and she said her husband would fill in where someone who was helping me was no longer available. I was upset because I didn't sign up for her husband, who wasn't even licensed. When I asked to get a copy of my contract I was refused. I should have copied the contract before I signed it, however why they wouldn't give me a copy was curious. Elena also traveled a lot which I was unaware of when I signed up. Therefore, our meetings weren't on a regular basis. Since leaving Synapse, I have found WW which really works for me and doesn't cost several thousand dollars. The amount of money I spent and how it turned out with Elena still upsets me. I feel like it was more of a business deal with her than the therapy I was looking for.

This is my third company to experience home health care for my cancer syndrome, and i can tell you for a fact, even with this organizations short life, in terms of these types of companies, of only 3 or 4 years in business, they really have it together and they are fair, they listen and they really know how to get things done. In the past two years, I've had two health care companies who say they will send someone as a replacement for a no show, and i not only don't get a call from the poor agencies in the past that there will be no one to show up, they take up to two months to get a replacement...even a temporary person to cover for your sick caregiver. Then, there is the fact that other agencies say they do their homework and backgrounds on people, but they do not. ABELE DOES!!! They have wonderful people, for the most part. No one is 100%, but these people are close to having a 100% best staff award this year. I have two really great care givers, Hanna and Heather, so if you want to ask for some one that is great, ask for them. Also, when Abel gets the word that there is no one coming due to a health or car issue, what have you, they have some one in that time slot within minutes and a phone call to let you know what the plan is and who coming!!! Bravo!!!, for such amazing on the spot care! This tells me they truly care about the client and want them to feel comforted, protected, and well managed. They take steps to assure that their employees are on time and don't leave early, like all the others. They assure me that if by the fault of the crooked care giver lying to cover their agenda, they are quickly debt with! Meaning, they even get a sense that this person is stealing or not doing their work, they fire them...not the case when i caught people red handed in the past stealing within other agencies...they simply DO NOT TOLERATE ANY KIND OF CRIMINAL THINKING OR BEHAVIOR AT THIS PLACE! YOU WILL FEEL SAFE AND PROTECTED! Also, they are so careful to make sure that the person who is caring for you, cares only for you, so they have you set up with only that one person, plus you can count on that person not taking advantage or screwing around while there, as well as knowing that your care worker is there to focus solely on YOU, only....no phone calls, or texting, or messing around or talking your head off...they come in and get right to work. There is no garentee that you will get the exact fit for the care giver the first time right off, but they sure make it their business to try their hardest to match you with a personality that does care, that matches your lifestyle and one that really is very compassionate. The company tries super hard to communicate efffectively, with many calls, three months checks, and phone calls regularly to ask questions and they make it so easy to speak the truth. They make sure you know, that you come first, before any dollar amount or their reputation...they want you happy, safe and comfortable. This is one of the most effective and efficient ran organization Ive experienced yet. The only single draw back is if you're hard of hearing, you might have a little trouble with accents, but most people don't have hearing problems, so this isn't really even an issue. Also, I think this is good, but others don't like it...but you will be thinking that its kind of strict, but its all done to protect you! I'M USED TO THEIR RATHER STRONG GUILD LINES, BECAUSE I KNOW I CAN PUT MY FAITH IN WHY ITS BEING DONE THIS OR THAT WAY, NOW...AT FIRST IT MIGHT BE CONFUSING, BUT YOU CAN PUT YOUR TRUST IN THESE PEOPLE. The anxiety and panic attacks exacerbate my condition and leaves me just not functional and sometimes end up in the ER. Since seeing Carol and being able to have someone who I am in their care and have them call you back personally the day is amazing. She is not someone who will give you meds then say see you in a month. Carol checks on you and just really cares about her patients. She even found a therapist for me to see because I didn't know who was good to help me. When I found a therapist she spoke/e-mailed him to help my therapist better prepare for my first visit. I like all my doctors to talk so having someone willing to do that and work with other to make sure your in the best care is hard to find. Carol is willing to just go the extra mile for her patients. She is a must see if you are looking for help! :)
