I contact Creative Keepsakes to preserve flowers from my mother's funeral in July, 2009. I just received my order after a year and a half and the quality of the work is awful. I have several frames with loose flowers in them, one frame has the clips showing. I have contacted them via e-mail several times to try to resolve the issues I have with my frames, however, they are not responding. I guess they plan on ignoring my issues. Very very poor customer service. I cannot even give the frames I ordered as gifts. I am extremely disappointed in the company and would not recommend them at all. read more

Dear Key, I went thru the SAME THING! Can you believe them? Since I went thru what you went thru, I don't even have to explain my side of the story. But let me tell you something......even if you wanted to take your order back for a refund, you can't. BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS NON-REFUNDABLE!!! I tried, I even told them to keep my flowers! Venders are nice until you sign the contract. After you sign it, they change their attitude. I DO NOT recommend their service AT ALL! Good luck to those who are waiting to hear from them. BAD BUSINESS. I had countless problems with this company from the start... I sent them my invitation to complete my bridal keepsake last year (3/22/11) and just sent them an email tonight (2/15/12) to see if it was ready. The email instantly came back... and their website no longer exists. I paid over $500 for this and now I am completely out of luck. They didnt put my flowers in the freezer fast enough and I had to replace half of the flowers in the bouquet. I'm ticked... i would like my keepsake please! read more

I got married on 10/16/09. My mom dropped off my wedding bouquet at the store for me on 10/18. At this time, she paid a $75 deposit. If you read CK's website, it clearly states this deposit reserves a spot for the flowers in the freeze dryer. I came on 11/3 to pick out my shadowbox, matting, and arrangement style and colors. The arrangement I had picked was $309, and I had to pay a 50% deposit on that amount when I picked out my arrangement. On both the sales receipt and website, it clearly stated my arrangement would be ready in 2-4 months. When I hadn't heard anything after the 1st of the year, I wasn't too alarmed. I did send an email to inquire. The response was very conniving, rude, and argumentative, instead of understanding why I would be upset (they had my money AND my bouquet), and I hadn't heard anything. At the end of the response, they told me my order would be ready at approximately the 6 months time frame instead of 2-4. June rolled around, and I still hadn't heard anything. I sent another email politely reminding them that I had originally been told 2-4 months then 6 months, and it had now been much longer. I got no response so I sent another one a few weeks later. The second email response wasn't as rude as the first, but never did I get an apology ... just more of the same run-around. I was simply told they were just finishing up orders from the end of August 2009 so my order would be ready in approximately 2-3 more months. A few weeks later, I received a letter to indicate that the freeze dryer they use had broken and thus, all of their orders were in limbo. It also indicated I would receive a 10% discount on my balance. At this point, I was very annoyed. If my $75 deposit reserved a spot for my bouquet in the free dryer, why would their freeze dryer breaking in June change the completion date of my project? Just what exactly happened to my bouquet when it was dropped off on 10/18/2009 and still hadn't gone into the freeze dryer? October 22nd (1 year + a few days) rolled around, and again, I still hadn't heard anything. At this point, I was livid. I sent my mom to the store to personally inquire. She was told my flowers were almost done -- everything about my order was near completion except for the calla lilies from my bouquet which had to be put in the freeze dryer. I'm not sure if it was Michelle or Mary Kae, but one of them told my mom my keepsake would be ready in two weeks. Guess what? My keepsake wasn't ready! On November 27, I called during normal business hours but did not receive an answer. I left a message indicating I was very upset and would be contacting the Better Business Bureau if I did not get a response within 48 hours. When I did not get a response in 48 hours, I contacted the BBB to file a complaint. On November 30, I got an email to tell me they were having problems with their voicemail and had just gotten my message. I was told that my flowers would be finished that night or the next day and a picture would be emailed. I did get a picture later that night. I sent an email to tell them how disappointed I was. I asked for them to waive the $75 deposit which was supposed to have reserved a spot for my flowers in the freeze dryer. I received a very nasty email which again was laced with defensiveness, excuses, and also stated that the unforeseen broken freeze dryer did not constitute a refund of that deposit. I picked up my keepsake on December 1, 2010 - although it does look nice, it was most definitely not worth $309, the poor communication, the lack of customer service, the bullcrap excuses, and having two deal with Michelle and Mary Kae. Creative Keepsakes really dropped the ball, and thankfully, I only intend to get married once so I will never have to go through this hassle again. My daughter was killed in a motorcycle accident about 2 and 1/2 years ago. The flowers that we recieved were beautiful and filled the entire funeral home. I wanted to keep some of the flowers as a memorial and was turned on to MK and Michelle at Creative Keepsakes. I called them on the phone and went out that day, taking in basket after basket, vase after vase of flowers. They were absolutely wonderful. The cried along with me and were so comforting. I sat down and spent more than an hour going over the things that they could do. Over the past 2 and 1/2 years I have had at least 8 large shadow boxes done, a couple dozen small domes, a few big domes, a couple dozen ornaments and a beautiful framed layout of the printed material we had at the funeral home. I could not be happier with every piece I have and have given to family. They hold memories that are unlike anything else. If I changed my mind, MK and Michelle made changes for me. I know that the past year and a half has been a little rocky for them. They've had problems with a couple of their freezers and tons of work. Some of my latest pieces took a little longer than expected but I know their work and dedication and the wait is definitely worth it. I don't have photos of everything but I have a few of them posted on my daughter's website www.leslieswings.com. We are in the process of updating Leslie's website but if you go to her Memorial page, you will see some the pieces I have had done. I have recommended so many people to Creative Keepsakes and every person has been so happy. So, when I found this "unhappy" review, I had to tell my story. I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with them. Their work is superb and MK and Michelle are the most caring ladies you could ever meet. Businesses always have ups and downs but Creative Keepsakes take pride in what they do and will bend over backward for you. I guess sometimes in this world you are treated as you treat others so maybe my respect for Creative Keepsakes and what they do earned me their respect. I would recommend Creative Keepsakes to anyone for any occasion, i.e. weddings, memorial tributes, special birthdays, etc. I could go on and on about the relationship I have formed with Creative Keepsakes. I always thought that word of mouth would be good enough but in this time of the "internet" and my finding this "unhappy" review when googling them for a friend, I had to tell my story. I hopet that others that I have recommended will also come forward with their stories to assure others that Creative Keepsakes has a unique and outstanding business. They were and still are lifesavers for me at the most difficult time in my life. I can't express my gratitude and love for these girls and their business and I hope reading my review will give you confidence in their abilities and take you to their storefront where you can see firsthand the absolutely beautiful arrangements they can do. I dropped off 2 flowers 7 months ago for preservation, and was told I would see a mock-up of the design within 2-4 months, and a completed product a couple months thereafter. I also had to leave a 50% deposit for this already steep timeline (approx $175). So, 7 months later I still have no mock-up and the owners have done nothing more than send me an updated version of their contract, which states that they do not guarantee completion dates.
