I first met Will years ago on a hot August day when I couldn't figure out how to use the Rain Bird system in a home we had just purchased. No one except Will was willing to come by and offer advice. Will thoroughly showed me where the system needed updating and repairs for the 1.25 acres it was supposed to water. Later that year, Will personally installed updated Rain Bird stations (suggested I buy at Amazon to save money) while his crew completed the necessary repairs. I wanted his company to do the project because of Will. Will is a person of integrity, honesty, and someone who you can trust to stand by his work. Since then, Will's staff has completed additions to other areas for watering, essentially relieving us from manual watering. Last year, I asked Will to add a few large rocks to the front yard. Will instead offered an idea of how to completely reimagine the front yard areas. After a few meetings with Will and Sandy, we came up with a blueprint which included a waterfall, moving 3 existing Japanese maples, creating a long walking path with steps, low intensity lighting. And most importantly, dotting the areas with varying species of pine trees and plants. Sandy was very informative in helping us select plants to complement our new landscape areas while blending themes for areas we wanted to keep from earlier landscaping projects. Will and Sandy also created plateaus, mounds and other uneven areas to create a more natural look. The project was completed as proposed. No cost overruns, no unanticipated additions, no delays. Will's staff diligently transformed our front yard to our shared vision. We have been asked by neighbors and strangers to share who completed the project. Many, many compliments have been given for the project. We of course, can't recommend Will and his entire team highly enough. I had a very basic water feature in our backyard. The rocks kept slipping away and I wanted something stable that I didn't have to keep fixing. I met with Will and talked about what they could do. The end project was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. It was a complete transformation from something quite boring to something magnificent. Having just completed a six figure back yard project with Creative Living, here is a review of the pros and cons. PROS: Will the owner did a water feature which came out great. The finished product looks very realistic and was done in a short period of time. His waterfall crew is great, especially the lead guy Evon. Great bunch of guys, and they work quick. CONS: Certainly nowhere as good with landscaping/hardscaping/lighting as they are with waterfalls. They do incredibly basic/plain landscape job and even then, the irrigations system and planting is deficient. I had the wrong emitters installed on the irrigation, much of what was planted wasn't planted correctly, and the selection of the plants/shrubs was incredibly basic and unappealing. I ended up basically ripping it all out after having already paid them. They have done some work in my community (Canterwood), and you can almost always spot their landscape work, as its always a "copy and paste" of the same basic shrubs and grass. Has a very basic, bare minimum look to it unfortunately. Pay attention to your invoices, as I had numerous change orders that were not previously discussed or authorized just show up on my invoices unexpectedly. Request any quote given by Will (the owner) to be in writing, as he often "forgets" what he verbally quoted and you may just find a higher bill than you were expecting. Sometimes I wonder if it was Creative Living or Creative Billing that I was dealing with :) If I could rate them separately for waterfalls I would probably give them 5 stars, but the landscaping/hardscaping and lighting that they do is just so terrible that I feel like a combined score of 2 is more appropriate. read more

We hired Creative Living Landscape Design for a major remodel of both our front and backyards. This included ripping out all exciting landscape, minus some trees. They redid landscape lighting, irrigation, built retaining walls, a new paver deck and patio, a gorgeous waterfall, pathways and fencing. We searched for 3 months to find the right landscaping company to rejuvenate our rather sad looking yard. What a surprise for us when we found CLLD literally in our backyard. I was referred to them by the Pro Counter at Home Depot. An employee was very familiar with their great water features and landscaping designs. When I contacted CLLD I learned they had completed many projects in my gated community and invited me to see a project near completion just around the corner and up the hill-less than 5 minutes from our house. It just took us a minute to look around and decide this was the company we wanted. There was multi-level decking, a long stream and beautiful reflection pond, paver walkway and arches-plants galore-just like you would see in Sunset Magazine and Better Homes and Gardens. We waited 3 months and it was worth the wait. Our backyard is beautiful. We now have an elevated walkout patio constructed with pavers-nearly doubling the size of our former decaying ironstone mishmosh of tile and loose mortar. Our old skimpy extremely well hidden waterfall which was leaking like a sieve is now a double with the bonus of a dry creek and looks totally natural. The sound is magic-in about 20 seconds I've transcended to nirvana. And now my wife has a beautiful meditation garden to enjoy while she's whipping up a bowl of oatmeal for me. We are very proud of our beautiful yard. We truly lucked out finding Creative Living-a wonderful team of professionals who understood what we wanted-always professional, respectful, friendly and courteous.
