I have been coming to this place for about a year now, and I've had no major issues. The owner is friendly and has always been helpful - if there is something about my manicure I'm not happy with, there's never been a problem with fixing or changing it. To me, it seems he is really concerned about the happiness of his customers. The place is clean and well maintained, and at the time of this review there are actually all brand new pedicure chairs that look great (I will have to try them on my next visit). I've never felt rushed, and every time I've come in requesting specific designs the girls who I've had have always done really nice jobs. I've recommended several friends here who now come regularly. The only thing I'd have to take a star off for - and perhaps it's a minor complaint - is that when I make an appointment to come in with a friend, it would be nice if we could be seated next to each other for our mani-pedis (when it's not too crowded of course). Most other places I've frequented seem to make an effort to make sure you sit next to your friend so you can chat during your relaxation time, but again it's just a minor thing. Bad quality. I just moved to Staten Island and was looking for a new nail salon. I got a gel manicure, one color and that's it. It's been less than a week and my nail polish is peeling off. The first nail started peeling three days after I had it done! I go easy on my nails and have never had this issue when getting my nails professionally done. They must've added too much thinner in their polish or something. Such a shame. The person who did my nails and the owner were both really nice. I thought I found my new nail place... I went on Mother's Day and treated myself to the green tea spa pedicure. It was nice. I added a manicure on for an additional $5.00. I'm pretty upset with my manicure. I now have hangnails that are pretty bad (bleeding) on 2 different fingers. Coco did my mani and pedi. Also, she used the same utensils on both my hands and feet. Shouldn't they have been sanitized first? Also, the girl YoYo that works there. Geez that girl is LOUD and obnoxious. I like to go for a pedi and relax, not listening to someone walk around screaming at the top of her lungs like a drill sergeant. I found it very distracting and I couldn't wait to leave. From having my nails filed crooked, to having her paint them like it was her first time ever doing nails to having her make me bleed! Just a terrible experience from start to finish. I will not be returning to this salon. For the last two visits I have unfortunately got Suki to do my manicure and pedicure and she is by far the worst. A rush job, sloppy paint job, horrible pedicure and can't understand a word she says. Money hungry for a tip too. And she hurts when she cuts cuticles. Too fast and not careful. Not exactly a relaxing or enjoyable experience. Owner is very nice but she is bad for his business. And utensils are not sanitized between each customer. I been going to Creative Nails before Jeffrey & Maggie took over the salon. I was going to a lady that wind up leaving and going to a different salon. I was hesitant on whether I should go to where the lady move to, but I told myself give Maggie a chance. I am happy that I did because I would never let anyone else touch my nails ever again. I show Maggie different designs and she NEVER fails me, she always executes exactly what I ask for. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to other overpriced salons in Staten Island. I've been coming to this place for years. I loved it. Jeffrey is very nice and accommodating, but as of recently I feel they are going downhill (in my opinion). It disappointing since I live so close by, but I'm no longer going there. First, the biggest turn off Ive been noticing more and more is they pretty much stalk you for a tip at the end. I've been a customer for years and never have I NOT given a girl a tip. It's insulting to me now that I'm followed right up to the counter to pay and they just stand there and the one time I **almost** forgot, there was an uproar in whatever language it is they speak, and I got ambushed as I got my coat to go. Even when I went back one time when they messed up my nails, I was told I "didn't have to pay for the repair" but I HAD to tip the girl .. !! How can you tell someone you have to tip ?! It seems they have a high turnover in the mani/pedi girls, so once I finally find a girl who did my nails the way I wanted and then she was gone. Since I now get a different nail tech each time, my gel nails have come out bubbly, peeling and cracking within a few days, and the nails filed terrribly uneven!! And when telling the girls, they tell you YOU'RE wrong even when you point it out directly. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

If i can give this salon 0 stars i would they were the only salon open in my area that would take us that late so my friend and i went there when i called on the phone i asked if they can take my acrylics off and do a gel manicure they told me $23 and my friend got just a gel manicure and they told her $25 when we got there anyways.. they were telling me i should leave the acrylics on and they would just cut them short for me i kept insisting i wanted them taken off and just get a gel manicure so after 5 minutes of them screaming and yelling about me to eachother she agreed to soak them for me than she used the electric drill to get the acrylics off mind u these acrylics were on me already for 2 1/2 weeks it shouldn't have been an issue taking them off than finally we got up to the manicure all of my nails were uneven didn't do anything to my cuticles and i said i wanted funny bunny she painted them CLEAR saying it would look like funny bunny with another coat it didn't i've gotten plenty of manicures and i can say this was by far the worst i left and started crying and I didn't tell her to fix it because it was already 8:30 and they close at 8 and they charged me $30 so i said i would go back and get them fixed but i just went else where (first pic is my nails botched by them) (second photo are my nails fixed by a different salon with the correct color i had asked for)... and for my friend she had to get her nails painted by 2 different people because the first lady who did it was so sloppy the polish was going on her hands long story short it was a waste of time and money and one of the worst experiences i've ever had to endure in a nail salon and my friend and i will never be returning to this shit hole. read more

i went here for the first time today and i am very impressed. the ladies that work here are extremely thorough and do not move past each nail until they are perfect. as well as this, they all are professional, and ensure that you like your color before applying it. I had gotten a basic pink gel manicure and i am very content with the outcome, and i definitely will be returning. This place was recommended to me by a friend. Even though it is not in my area, I gave it a try anyway. In the beginning I loved the friendly atmosphere. However yesterday, that changed. I received a gel concept manicure & regular spa pedicure on a Wednesday totaling to $100 (that was including tip) On Friday night, my nail polish chipped because it was not properly glued on to my actual nail, thus resulting in my ACTUAL nail eventually breaking. I went in Saturday morning to get it fixed. I was taking care of right away. When they were done with my nail they started writing a tab. I was like absolutely not I am not paying for a nail that should have NOT chipped in 2 days. Jeff the owner then came up to me and assumed that I hit it on something and broke it myself. I never told him that. I washed my hands and it chipped off... I told him I will NOT be paying at all for something that was not my fault. He said "This time I will do it next time you are being charged" Don't worry Jeff, there won't be a next time. The lady then continued to say "you're lucky" I'm lucky?! I just gave this place $100 then 2 days later was threatened to pay more for something that was not my fault. Absolutely disgusting stay away from this money hungry place. read more

I tipped the lady that did my nails $4 for this manicure and the lady that did my nails was looking at them like she didn't do anything wrong, she had also turned around to her friend and told her $4 as a tip? I found that extremely rude and he's like "if you didn't like the person doing your nails you could have switched in the middle" how am I supposed to switch in the middle if I didn't even know what they looked like in the middle and I kept repeating myself saying "I don't want a gift card I don't want a gift certificate I just want my money back and I want to go home" and he was like next time ask for a different person I was getting loud by then like fuming and my sister was just like just give us the $8 back we're never coming back here anyway and he said some remark and told me to calm down. Respectfully, I hate this nail salon. I religiously went every week for a manicure and their polishes are subpar, but it got the job done so I stayed with them. My nails are natural and rounded off, so I asked the worker to keep the shape. I wasn't paying attention and was watching TV and the girl cut my nails so short down to the nail bed to square the nails off. When I noticed, I was almost in tears, especially since I have bit my nails my whole life and finally got them long. The owner, Jeffery, took the side of his employee and told me, "it's fine". As I am in tears at this point, I let her just paint my nails so I could leave. After this, Jeffery still charged me the full $10 manicure with no discount or even a compensation for next time. I will never go back and poor customer service. The ONLY good worker here is Mindi for pedicures. Don't let anybody else touch your nails here unless you want them to do whatever they want. read more

Never in my life have I experienced such horrible service. The woman doing me and my sisters pedicure was so rude. It was the quickest and worst pedicure we have ever received. It lasted around 5 minutes each. Every time she wanted us to put our feet in the water she would just slap them. She massaged for a total of 10 seconds a leg. Me and my sister were done before customers that got there before us were done. She never even helped us up and when it was time to dry our nails she just pointed to the dryer. When it was time for her to get her tip she just hovered over us. When we tipped her she rolled her eyes and didn't say a thing. We shouldn't of even tipped her! I wish I got her name but she was the only one not wearing a name tag with overalls on. The owners really need to re-evaluate there staff and make sure they're treated with respect. Very disappointed with my visit to this salon today. I came in to get a regular mani/pedi. Waited about 10 minutes before getting told to sit in the pedicure chair, which was fine. I sat in the chair for about 30 minutes, and no one started on my nails. Meanwhile, a woman and her child who came AFTER me (with no appointment) were both seated in the pedi chairs and started on before i was. The daughters nails were even finished before mine were started and i was there before them. Finally, after waiting 40 minutes in the pedi chair, the lady rushes to do my toes. She moves me to a table where she does a SUPER rushed mani. Didnt even file my nails down to be even, nail polish was uneven as well, and some spots on my nails werent even painted. I paid with a credit card and filled out the receipt with my tip as the lady STARED down to see what i was giving her. Very unhappy with the rushed service and my terrible mani/pedi. I couldve done a better job myself. they seem to only cater to those who are regulars and disregard any one who they don't know read more

I got a fungus on the nails of left foot. I was not surprised as the tools used on me were taken out of a small plastic box, obviously used on all clients. Very few nail polish choices. Most of the colors there are not nice. Manger is rude. Most workers do an okay job not the best. The woman scrubbed my feet and legs with what you would clean the little tub where you put your feet in while getting a pedicure with. Save your time and money!!!!!! When I came in, the woman who I mad an appointment with wasn't there. A young guy ended up doing my nails who kept texting, didn't listen and messed up a few times. After I complained to the owner they switched me to a woman who didn't speak English. She messed up my nails even more. The owner at the end had the balls to try and charge me for changing my nail shape, when I didn't even ask in the beginning. They had to change them after they screwed up from the start.
