Called ahead weeks in advance to get a price check, was told to wait a few minutes while the receptionist(?) confirmed with someone higher up which I had no problem doing. She comes back and I'm told $220, great price, much cheaper than any other place in the Chicagoland area. Imagine my surprise when I call again later to schedule an appointment and I'm told $270 by someone different. Whatever, price is still better than other shops and it looks like they do quality work. I get the wheels off my bike, take all the hardware off to make it easier for them (minus the bearings in the rear wheel as I didn't have a tool for it) and get them dropped off on May 15th. I get called the next week on the 21st to come pick up my wheels. Go in, pay and walk over to grab them. 1st big problem, they're the wrong color (pictured below in blue). I used the website I was told (prismatic powders) and provided the color I wanted along with the code for it as well and it was confirmed that hawaiian blue was going to be applied. What they gave me looked nothing like what I had picked. I took a picture and went back inside to tell the receptionist and she told me she could get the manager which I appreciated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Manager comes out while we're both looking at what went wrong and immediately says they're the right color and that's just how the finish comes out. I'm pretty frustrated and thankfully the receptionist pipes up and says something to the effect of "these kinda look like *hawaiian* blue NOT hawaii blue." Manager goes in the back and comes back to confirm that yeah, the powder guy grabbed the wrong color on accident.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We all make mistakes and even though the powders are different colors they do have extremely similar names. I'm told they'll be done by Friday (keep in mind it's still Wednesday the 16th). A week goes by and I call again, I'm told they're not done and they'll be finished by the end of the week. Another week goes by and no call from them so I decide to stop by in person. Told again they're still not finished but they're in the upcoming queue. Another few days go by and I finally get the call. I pick them up, they apologize for the wrong color issue and the wheels come out better than I'd hoped. Here comes another issue, the front tire was mounted backwards. Now it's a fairly common mistake to do that with motorcycles that have brake rotors on both sides as it can be hard to tell which way it should go without labels. I only have one brake rotor up front so this shouldn't have been missed (in my opinion). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I tell the receptionist what happened and she says she'll have the tire guy redo it. I watch her walk over to the garage and when he asks what's wrong and she tells him it's on backwards his immediate response is "no it's not." He redoes it and I leave with the wheels[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and go home to install my bearings and the rest of the hardware and I notice another problem. There was overspray in the bearing seat and I can't get the bearings in without removing it. I ended up chipping some of the coat trying to put it in (totally on me) before giving up and going back in. At this point I just want my wheels done so I can ride as it's been almost a month of me not having wheels on my bike. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I take the wheels back in (it's Monday June 15th at this point) and explain the issue and I'm told personally by the manager that he'll fix the overspray and install my bearings and spacers. I think that's a great show of character that someone in a management position is willing to get their hands dirty and fix issues.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He tells me it'll be done by the following morning and lo and behold they're not done the next day. Finally Thursday rolls around and I get a call saying they're done. Hop in the car with a friend and go to pick them up and then head home to install them. Both front bearings? Installed correctly and the inner races are able to be rotated with my fingers. Rear bearings? One is seated properly but cannot be turned, other one is sticking out about 1/8 of an inch and can be turned by hand. I call up a bike mechanic I know who specializes in wheels and tires and show him just to see if I'm crazy. He confirms that I'm not and it is in-fact done wrong. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just to humor myself I call back and ask for the manager (Tuesday June 24th) to see if maybe I can get a refund or the issue fixed. I'm told that you're apparently *not* supposed to be able to turn the bearing inner races and that he did seat them correctly and if one is sticking out it's an incorrect bearing or the spacer needs to be trimmed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Does that mean the front is messed up too because I can spin both sides? He tells me no but I can bring them in again and he can take a look. I've driven back and forth to this place almost a dozen times and I'm not doing it again. I am VERY disappointed with this company! I asked if they can do a cast iron bath tub and if it would hold up. They said they can't guarantee it would last forever, but should hold up for years, especially with light use. We brought in our old cast iron tub and it didn't hold up for even a 2 months with ZERO use! First we were told it would take 3 weeks, which turned into 2 months. Every time we called they said they would call back, which the didn't. Then said it would be ready the "next day", but then it wasn't. The owner called us to try to make it right which I appreciated, and we were very understanding. Things happen. He had trouble with the tub from paint "bubbling" and when we came to look at it it had some paint residue hanging on the edge where the clips were. He told me I could take a razor to it and paint it myself. That is why I took to to a "professional" so I didn't have to do any work myself. I thought that was a very odd statement. He was honest about the problems, which I respected, and they tried again. When we went to pick it up it wasn't perfect, but it looked a lot better than it did before we brought it in. When I had a closer look at it when we got it home I noticed some cracks in the paint. I was very concerned by this, but it isn't really used, but more of a show piece so I let it go. Today I was standing in the tub (as you should be able to do) do some work on the window near it and the paint started coming off in chunks! Now I have giant paint chips/holes in my bathtub! The job was around $500 which I don't know if it is cheep or not, but this should not last less than 2 months with no water put it in. What is the point of having a bathtub if it can't be used and has to be treated like a fragile piece of art. If he didn't think he could do the project, even after starting, they should have given us our tub back as is. The old finish wasn't nice, but at least you could use the bathtub! The only thing that I can say positive is he also did our radiator which turned out nice, but now I am concerned about that too. read more

After calling around and finding the likes on FB I decided to give them a try. The phone was answered promptly and my question was; "can you strip the flaking chrome off my wheels and powder coat them and how much?" The person calling quoted me a price for just the rims and for a drop off of the car for same day service with wheel balancing. Being that I would've needed the balancing anyway I chose option 2. I set up the appointment for about 3 weeks later on a Friday. I was given very detailed directions after paying a $50 deposit via Applepay. Two days before the appointment I received a call telling me that I could drop off the day before or early the day of my appointment. I chose to drop off the evening before. The shop is located in a commercial/industrial area near Joliet,IL. The building is new and has a paved parking lot. There's a sign telling you the procedure and a drop box. A+, No COVID-19 contact concerns here! The next day I get a call, from a live person, that my truck will be ready and I would receive a text message for the balance. I paid via Apple Pay and was on my way. Went to get the truck and was really surprised at how well it came out. The roughness of the metal from flaking chrome was gone as well as any pitting from corrosion. I'd chose satin black do mix things up and get a sportier look but they showcase many other colors and finishes. Overall, I spent less than it would've costs for two new wheels and got five coated (I bought a matching spare prior). I recommend them for a great job and value. read more

Ten year repeat customer and again, my two items display an outstanding end result. One item was a pair of frameless shower door handles and one was a vintage aircraft propellor blade stand destined for an airline museum in Atlanta. Very nice finishes at respectably close to the estimated completion time. As far as the negative comments posted during COVID and the post COVID period (which every business has and is still experiencing issues today), I find my experiences this past month acceptable. The number of negatives posted compared to the number of years this business has been in operation is minuscule. I'll cut them a break with the couple of extra days it took for my items. Just let me know when future jobs are running behind schedule. CPC's new large, state of the art facility just down the street from the original location is excellent. Can't wait to try the new one day alloy wheel refinishing service for my wife's car. The completed examples I have seen awaiting customer pickup are amazing. read more

I really want to thank CPC for powder coating one of my wheels that had a big scratch on it. I asked a different shop how much and how long it was going to take theto do the job and their prices were crazy and so was their time frame. A friend of mine talked to me about CPC and that's when I message them on Instagram, they responded quick but I still felt like I needed to stop by and talk to them in person. That's when I talked to Dave, he took a look at the rim and told me to be there, the next morning. Against my better judgement after hearing negative things about CPC I took my frame to be powder coated. 7 weeks later I had to pick up my frame destroyed by CPC and replace all my fenders. Please read before you do business with CPC and the owner Dave. I'm also attaching screenshots of text messages between me and the owner. Long story short, after we painted rims and brake calipers at CPC, we got damage in our Porsche Cayenne for a total of $629. Arm rest part +repair $479 and flushing and installing new brake fluid $150. Owner promised to fix what they broke, he was stalling for over 3 months and never did. On August 24 we had rims painted on our Porsche Cayenne. When we picked it up, we noticed broken latch at the armrest. Tech to get wheel lock in armrest, not knowing how to operate armrest, must have broken the latch. We contacted the owner Dave, who seemed like a very nice and sincere guy. He apologized and promised to get it fixed. We went to his shop, and his friends body shop 3 different times. With no luck of getting the armrest fixed. He is really good at selling excuses, either they didn't know how to do it, didn't have the part or part not coming in on time. Eventually, we told him we would fix ourselves at the dealership. We paid $400 for the repair and Dave promised to get it reimbursed, which he never did. He continues with more excuses, said his comptroller didn't do it or that he is busy building new shop. They also did damage to our brake fluid when painting brake calipers, another $200 repair. Dave's response is everyone's brake fluid is dirty and that no one is changing it. The problem is that when you service your vehicle at the dealer and there is no issues until you do business with Dave, then there is something wrong with his service. What's really disappointing is that we really thought this man as the owner of the company, is going to do what's right by his client. I have called into this location for 5 days straight in order to get answers and a solution to them misplacing two Yakima car rack bars that my boyfriend brought in for them to coat. Instead of providing us back the bars we gave them, they coated and gave us two totally random bars! They have consistently lied to me, telling me they would call me back. When I tried speaking to the owner he was always "at lunch" or "in a meeting." The last time I spoke to someone she said the bars were found and would be available for pick-up the following day, which would have been Saturday, September 26th. I then find out, when I call that morning, that she lied to me AGAIN and that the location was actually CLOSED that day. I'm flabbergasted at this situation, which could have been completely avoided through honesty and good customer service. I would never recommend this location to ANYONE, especially if you want back the items you provide them and don't want to suffer monetary loss. I have included a picture of the casing that the Yakima bars originally came in. We removed the casing so the bars could be coated. Thank goodness my boyfriend kept it. This is the first time I have used this shop. Even though there was a slight issue with the final finish on powder coating my truck wheels. The owner Dave and the office people truly understand customer service. I drove 55mins each way to deliver and retrieve my rims. Since there was an issue with the finish the owner volunteered to deliver the rims to my house. The owner and employees were polite and very considerate.
