I would give this place a 5 but unfortunately they took way too long with my set of rims. I was told 3-4 weeks since they were busy at the time which i was okay with. Several weeks went by and nothing. I contacted them and said they would be done within that week. Another 2-3 weeks went by and nothing. I contacted them again and said they will be ready in that same week. If you aren't in a rush then this is a good place to take whatever it is you're trying to get powder coated. Otherwise i would do the same day appointments. Other than that the set of rims came out great!!!! I can't even noticed where the crack was when i took them! Great work! read more

I dropped my rims with tires off on March 5 to be coated 2 toned. One week later I received a call saying they had to order the color .Two weeks later I'm giving a appointment date of March 19 . I called today March 24 just for a update and I was told they are in the process of moving and they are behind schedule... that was not explained to me during drop off.Is it possible to get a rough estimate for a pickup date? I can only give guy's 2 stars for now for customer service.... I have no problem with changing my review once I pick up my rims and see that they are done to the high quality work that you guys do....Patiently waiting! .......... April 2 2021 Update... Just got off the phone with a manager that was so unprofessional, called to tell them how I was not happy with the work they did on my rims and he got in defense mode instantly. I wanted a two tone red and black.... they gave me 3 toned with my center caps being a dark green and red paint in some spots on the rims. When I first picked them up 2 weeks ago they looked fine I wasn't able to focus in on too much of detail because the guy that brought the rims out was so busy distracting me with tooting his on horn about how much of a good job he did while quickly loading them in my truck.He said not to wash them for 10 days. It's 2 weeks later I'm hands on cleaning and I can see all of the errors made. I also had to wait 45 minutes because they forgot to put a clear coat on one of the center caps. They told me that my total cost was $500 for 2 tone but when they loaded the rims in my truck the manager said to give him $400 that was a little shady to me but I figured it was for inconvenience me for having to wait 45 minutes for center cap. This is definitely a shady business ... they never gave me any paperwork or receipts. The only record I have to prove I did business with them is text messages and messenger. I feel like I was robbed! I don't recommend this business to no one I want the service I paid for $400 + the additional cost to get coated by a professional company .... the last thing the manager said when we spoke on the phone was ..we don't want your business anyway! Guess what? You won't get my business again and I hope that every one that reads this review don't waste their time and money supporting your establishment. I gave you guys a chance and you failed! This place has the worst customer service. I dropped off a frame September 1st and was told it would be done in 2 to 4 weeks. Week 5 we called and left messages and got no return call. Week 6 finally got a hold of someone and was told it would be done by the end of next week. Week 7 called and follow up and was told it was going thru quality control check. That Monday of week 8 went in to see how it was going to find out it has not been touched nothing has been done. Was told it next in line. Week 9 left messages could not get a call back finally week 10 I started emailing and was told it was sandblasted and it will be powder coated and ready the next week. Got a call the next day a Friday night saying it was done and I needed to pay now so I could pick it up tomorrow a Saturday so I did. Saturday comes and I went to pick it up to find out they didn't do my frame at all they did someone else's frame instead. They didn't know it wasn't mine until I said something. Dave the owner said he would work on it and have it delivered on Monday. Monday comes no call no drop off. Tues I text him because he gave me his personal number no answer. Wednesday I called left a message no answer no call back so later that night I emailed them. They said it would be done Friday and would be delivered. Friday comes no call no delivery so another email and text goes out. a few hours later Dave calls and said his wife saw the text and the frame will be delivered at 9 am on Saturday. Saturday morning the frame gets delivered around 11 am. The frame is 2 different shade of orange. The frame is dented and broken in places that were not before called Dave 2 rings and it went straight to voicemail left a message no call back. Emailed sent them the next day Dave text and said he would redo it and he didn't know why there was black spots. They came back and fixed it after so many calls and emails. This place has the worst customer service they don't call back. They lie and damage frames. I would not recommend this place after all the hassle I went thru. The work was shit my frame needs to be redone there is black spots all over my frame. They never apologized. They were recommended by a family member who is friends with them so this is really disappointing and the family member was shocked to hear everything I went thru. read more

I haven't yelped in years and this company brought me out of hibernation due to have bad they were. This company not only advertises Powder Coating for automobile parts but they also provide Duracoat/Cerakote services for guns as well. I wanted to get my AR-15 cerakoated and brought my parts over here. The employee's I dealt with were very friendly and accommodating. However, the quality of work was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Initially they stated the project would take 3 weeks. I ended up picking up my AR parts more than 3 months later. In that 3 month span I had made several trips out there and each and every time, they had incorrectly applied the cerakote. When they had finally applied the cerakote correctly, they had sand blasted the upper and lower receiver so much, there was a large gap between the two. They had also sandblasted my handguard to the point where it was no longer usable. They did go out and replace it at their cost but they again cerakoated it incorrectly. So in conclusion, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR CERAKOTING GUN PARTS. read more

Just wanted to show what a great job CPC Powdercoating did on my rims. Was told the chrome would be removed and rims powder coated. That doesent look like the chrome was removed, they just powdered over the peeling chrome. WTF was told 2 weeks, then 3, then they'll be done on the 5th, then maby Sat. the 9th. Im not mad about waiting, im mad that they couldnt even call to let me know they were behind or that they wouldnt be done on time. The fact that i had to contact them after every due date was missed shows a real lack of customer appreciation. 3 weeks for powdercoating is kind of crazy. I could have stripped and painted them in less then a week. read more

Horrible, when dropped of in November I was told a 2-4 week turn around , after multiple calls and them saying it will be done in a couple days well 4 months later I was able to pick up . Hack job on my running boards , picked up and found them laying unprotected on concrete floor,scuff marks all over , the step caps that were removed for powder coating purposes cause they are plastic were destroyed . so needless to say my steps are worthless. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE for quality work . read more

Dropped off some suspension pieces here to get sandblasted and powdercoated. I was told it would be about two weeks. So I called about ten days later to see if I could get a more accurate time estimate and was told that the parts would be ready the following Saturday. I said I'd be in Monday to pick them up. I called Monday morning and no one answered, so I left a message asking if the parts were ready and if someone could call me back so I didn't make a special trip. I never got a call back so I didn't go. The next day I called again - same thing. No answer, I left a message, no call back. Finally I called on Wednesday and left a message saying that this was the third message I was leaving and that I would appreciate the common courtesy of a return call. About an hour later someone called me and asked what I wanted. I asked if he had listened to my message, and he said no. I said I wanted to know if my parts would be ready, and he said it would be another week. I told him that I was going to come and pick up my parts to take them somewhere else. He told me that he wouldn't give the parts back, and that they don't return parts in the middle of a job. I said that if they had been sandblasted I'd pay for that, but I didn't want his company to finish the work. He just repeated that they don't give parts back in the middle of the job, and that those were the terms I'd agreed to. In reality, all I'd done was drop my parts off and leave my name and phone number. I didn't agree to any terms. I asked if he was refusing to return my property to me, and he hung up on me. About ten minutes later a secretary called me to let me know that my parts would be ready at 4pm that day. I went and got them without any problems, but the work was sloppy with minimal amounts of masking. I figured it wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with these people any longer and just paid for them and left. Use at your own risk. read more

These guys rocked out on my Jeep Wrangler body armor. I even scratched it bad as I put metal on top of it not thinking and they redid it within day. Also the turnaround time was amazing. I am now giving them my rims and other hardware for my Jeep restore project so they can rock that out too. The warranty for this stuff is awesome and I will refer anyone that wants quality work done. I'm one picky girl when it comes to my cars so they did good on the Jeep and in the future they will get more stuff from the several BMWs that I owe. Great job guys. Thanks again... read more

Like the other person who wrote a review. I give this place 1 star because I have to. I wouldn't give them a tip of a star. I'm pasting my email to Dave with a few edits... Dave, I'm not even sure where to begin. You recently powdercoated my truck frame. I brought my truck frame to you on Dec. 3. I was told it would be two weeks so I planned my vacation around this. 4,5,6,7 weeks went by until I picked my frame up yesterday. I was first lied to about the deadline. I Facebook messaged you letting you know I was from Peoria, IL. and would like a little notice on picking my frame up. You said you'd give me notice. I messaged you on January 2nd you said I'd have my frame by the end of the week. That was another lie. I received a call on January 21, 2017 with one hour notice to get there. Fast forward to yesterday, January 23rd. I get to CPC and see my frame out front. It didn't look like what I expected. On December 3rd we discussed options. I'm not sure if you were who I spoke with but I was told that there would be discoloration around the heavy welds and edges which I was totally fine with. However yesterday I noticed discoloration throughout the whole frame. I was told that was how transparent powder turns out. I trusted your expertise and knowledge in our discussion back in December. As an experienced powder Coating business I feel I should have been better informed on how the outcome would look. If I knew there would be multiple shades of copper throughout the frame other than on the edges and welds as I was told I wouldn't have gone with a transparent powder. Next I was told to pay cash. I was not even offered a receipt. I'm guessing this is your way of saying the work isn't guaranteed or you are trying to avoid having paperwork on this job. I then proceeded to load my frame and had a feeling I was being rushed out of there. A feeling like they just wanted me gone. So I drove down the street to strap everything down. This is where I became VERY dissatisfied. The color was no longer an issue to me. My frame had been bent and damaged. My right rear bed mount was bent up and welds broken as if they hit it or tried lifting my frame by the one small mount. Also the rear cross members on my frame were bent. Now I'm stuck having to find someone to grind and reattach my bed mount and straighten my frame back out all while trying not to damage the rest of the powder. I will also now have to figure out how I will cover up the new repairs. I am asking for a full refund due to the damages caused by your employees negligence and for the fact that the costs for me to straighten the frame and fix the broken bed mount will far surpass the $300 I paid you to blast and powder coat my frame. I hope to hear from you soon! Dave replied back telling me to stop in. Again, I told him I was from out of town and asked him to call me. I called twice. The first time they said he was out back spraying. The second time they said he was on a delivery. Both times I left messages to call me. No response. I emailed him and explained that I can't just leave Peoria to come talk to him and again, no returned call. Lesson learned...YOU TRULY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! read more

I will begin by saying that this is only the second negative Yelp review that I have written. I dropped an item off to be powdercoated in mid- May. I was told at the time that it would cost around $250 and would be done in a few weeks. The completion of the item was time sensitive, for it was part of a large construction project. After a few weeks, I called and left a message. Nobody answered the phone which I soon learned was common practice for the company. After never receiving a phone call back and trying to call the company several more times, I called a cell phone number that I had been given when the item was dropped off. I left yet another message on this number, and I finally received a call back. She said "I'll look into it." A few more weeks went by with no return call, so I called her again. This time she answered and talked about flooding issues that she had at home. She again said "I'll look into it." Another person from my office tried calling them too, only to receive no return call. After another week of no response, I called again and she finally said that the item would be done at noon the next day. I sent one of our employees up the next day only to find out the item had not even been sandblasted yet. This was a waste of three hours of paid time for this employee. This was the beginning of July. The owner commented, "we didn't get around to it." He did not apologize for the incorrect information or for the wasted time. I continually called the company until I finally talked to Dave (the owner). He said that the item was not done because of my "attitude" and that he didn't appreciate the constant phone calls. He said, "the girls don't answer the phone because they don't want to talk to you." They probably didn't want to to talk to me because they have no clue what is going on and they constantly lie about work progress. I finally picked up the item (2 months after they said it would be done - causing major delays in the larger project) only to find out that the price had magically doubled to $500 and it was now COD. I received two phone calls from them asking me how I was going to pay for the item (one the day before I picked it up and one the morning of the day I picked it up). Imagine that... no return calls for two months, but they suddenly have great customer service when they want paid. I won't even comment on the quality of the job because of the dissatisfaction with the company itself. It was an easy job that anyone in the industry could have done well. It should have been done in the initial time promised and for the amount that was verbally quoted. Overall the customer service for the company is terrible and the owner doesn't seem to care. He would rather blame the customer for getting frustrated due to his company's lack of communication and honesty than reflect on the deficiencies in the company itself. He told me "I don't care if I never do business for you again." He won't have to worry, for he will never be asked to. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your sandblasting and powdercoating needs. Read the other 1-star reviews... I wish I had before requesting their services. read more

So im writing this as im sitting in front of this shop, waiting for my wheels to be done after 5 weeks of waiting to begin with. Other people who rated this place 1 star pretty much nailed it: customer service is beyond horrible, every time I called I was told a different lie; I also got hung up on twice; first time I called I was told that my wheels could be done in one day, when I got here to drop them off, they told me 7-10 days. When I called after 10 days, I was told now that the lead time is 14 days, fine. 5 weeks later, theyre still not done. Talked to the owner yesterday, he promised to have them done by 11am this morning. Showed up at 12:40pm, still not done. He said that they will take lunch and then finish my wheels in an hour an a half. Seriously lunch matters more than customers? They just lost quite some business from me as I was looking for a shop to do about 10 sets of wheels a month. AVOID AT ALL COSTS even if they promise to do it for half the price others shops charge. read more

I wish I can write this review based on their actual work but after MONTHS of trying to get my calipers powder coated I have given up. Long story short, they had my truck sitting at the mechanics for 2 days untouched because they didn't have the key to remove my rims. 48 hours later and they didn't tell me. I found out because I called to check why they haven't called to pick up my truck. I was told we'll call you back with more info. I waited all day for that call and it never came. I called back a little past 4:30 and they were already closed. I sent them a message on Facebook and they got back to me saying that my truck was locked up in the garage and no one was there to get it out. I raised hell and magically someone was available to take my truck out. A third day without my truck and they weren't even working on it?!?!? Nah! Weeks later I called to try to set up another appointment for the same thing seeing that they already had my deposit. She was like we are painting your whole rim red right? I was like no just the caliper. She was like ummmmmmm ok let me call you back. Waited a whole week for that call and it never came. I just want out. I called to get my deposit back and of course they said I couldn't. But they looked more into the situation and agreed to give me my deposit. I'm going on 3 weeks and still waiting. Am i going to go broke over my 25 dollar deposit? Nope. It's the principle of it. I took my truck to the dealer and casually told them of the situation. Their response was, is this place in Joliet area? I said yes. They said creative powder coating? I replied yes. They then went on and said they have heard nothing but horrible stories from this place.... do your research people. Go elsewhere. read more

I have to encourage anyone thinking of using this place to stay away! I took very valuable parts to be powder coated black on a Thursday.Was quoted 150.00,and was told to check back beginning of following week.Did so,but told not done.Over the course of the next 5 weeks,I was given so many excuses,and told so many lies,that I just decided to show up there and get my parts.The owner and I had words over the promises I was given,and as I was loading my stuff,he began throwing my parts into my truck.I told him to keep his hands off my parts. Also, one of my parts was bent.I was so glad to get away from that place,and to have all my stuff,as I have been told that disgruntled customers parts sometimes mysteriously disappear. My advise to anyone is to find another place,as that's what I plan to do! read more

Although others have given very poor reviews of this place, my experience was pretty good. I too had several firearms and a box of over a dozen small gun parts powdercoated, as well as a old locomotive passenger car wood burning stove that was covered in a gore of rust. The stove was done with a heat resistant black powdercoat and it came out great. All of the firearms and parts were done to to my satisfactory. the biggest thing that made me go with CPC was price. On average cerakote for a long gun(rifle/shotgun) Is $125 and up a piece, $75 and up for Handgun, and $20 a piece for small parts and thats all one color. If you want two-tone or any other design it could turn into a very expensive endeaver. Cpc did all my firearms and the stove for a fraction of the cost you would pay somewhere else. I did however experience a long wait to get my guns back, but i expected a waiting period and did'nt need my guns back right away so it was'nt a problem. CPC deals with clients that want things done in volume, so its to be expected that your one firearm or set of rims might not take highest priority. I would definately have more things powdercoated by CPC, in fact i'm getting my next order ready and i would'nt want to go anywhere else. read more

Dave promised 2 weeks. Dave delivered after 6 months and with Police involvement. The officers knew about CPC Powder and said that they are called regularly. Some items were missing, some were dented, some where in the wrong color and some were done in terrible quality and had to be redone. If you have to deal with him, make sure you get a receipt for every item left (not just a pic), count them when you pick them up and pay with a credit card so you get a receipt for the transaction. Dave is experienced with dealing with the authorities and you can't prove cash transactions. Any damages you incur are small claims and that will take another year or two. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this business. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE AVOID AVOID. The work they do is fine the problem is they are not truthful. They promise you your parts will be done on such and such a time and when you you arrive to pick them up they are not. They also will swap your parts with others and are not very careful on keeping your parts together. They lost 2 items of mine which I never got back and gave me someone elses parts in return on 2 other items. They do have competive pricing but in the end you will end up paying more and be frustrated dealing with the jerking around that will occur. Terrible customer service and communication. NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE DO BUSINESS HERE!!! I took an AK in to have a cerakote job done. The staff was very helpful and very nice. They quoted me a price which was very reasonable, and told me it would be a 4 week job. 4 months later they call and told me my rifle would be done in a week. Three weeks later my rifle was complete so I went to pick it up and they had lost my front sight, and the finish was extremely rough and uneven. So thin in some spots it didn't even look like they coated it and so thick in others that the rifle couldn't even be assembled properly. They said they would order me a new front sight to replace my and after a month I called and they hadn't ordered it yet so I brought in the part number and have them a website that had the item in stock. It's been five months and probably three dozen phone calls and still no front sight. I would never do business or recommend anyone do business with this company. read more

I drop off a total of 9 pieces (engine, battery, brake fluid, and wire covers) from the engine compartment for hydro dipping on 09/27/13. I got them back on 12/04/13. I was told it should takes about 3 weeks. Each time I called after their initial due date, I was told, "they're working on it". I had spoken with "Dave" ( I believe he's the owner of the shop) said, that "we dictate when it will be done, not you". At that point, I got tired of calling. After two weeks went pass, I call and spoke the Dave again and was he said he'll have some pictures for me. Finally got a video of them dipping the engine cover. The video as done on 11/22/13. It's only 4 weeks pass the the initial estimated due date! His reasons was... our machine broke and parts are ordered from Thailand. Well I ask why wasn't I notified if that was the case. He said, I should have been notified. Well I didn't get any calls from them. As for the quality of the work, it's not the best I have seen. I have other interior pieces sent out to shops in the west coast and they came back 100% better then these from CPC. Their attitude is... I will tell you when it is done.
