I am very disappointed with the service at Richmond Animal Hospital (Richmond, BC. I had an…read moreappointment scheduled for 4:30 PM but was not seen until 5:00 PM. This is not the first time I've experienced significant delays at this clinic. Additionally, the clinic consistently overcharges for products compared to other places. During my most recent visit, I asked for a prescription for my dog, but the vet declined saying that they can not give me one because this ear infection medication is not sold in human pharmacies, which I believe is not true. (as AVMA's Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics reg client requesting a prescription) Due to these ongoing issues, I will be taking my dog to another clinic. I expect better service and more reasonable pricing from a veterinary provider. Alejandra T.

All the staff who work there are so professional, so caring, so helpful. The doctors never tried to upsell me on treatments or proscribe unnecessary tests. I have always felt they always did what was necessary for his care, which was very important in the last couple of years as his health declined, but were always practical in their approach. They were empathetic, reasonable and professional in every way. Special thanks to Dr Crofts and Dr Schaufele and Dr Chipperfield for the care you gave Koby all these years and to the front office staff for all their help and empathy.

Not really sure what happened to this business but something changed back in the fall of 2025…read more The staff seem disorganized. They wouldn't give me a straight answer when I asked them why my regular vet and owner wasn't working there anymore. It's disheartening when you pay so much and companies can't be transparent. So I tacked him down myself. Apparently he and the other partner are opening up a new clinic in Steveston called Bayview. I just wish people would be honest.

I took my cat here for constipation, and some trouble shooting as to why the problem exists to begin with. I felt like all they could see was dollar signs in my eyes. I had to make 3 trips just to help him. All visits were 500.00 a pop with no answers, just gave me a bunch of meds for me to give him at home. I asked them to clean him out, and although it's not a fun job, it is their job. When I asked them to do it I got a bit of attitude. They gave him an x-Ray and said nothing to the tune that it seemed abnormal, then I go back a third time and she just wants me to circulate what we've already done. So now I'm 1500 in and still no answers really specifically to what we are dealing with. They x-ray'd him twice!!!! She told me she wanted to do blood work again, after he already had that as well and it was normal. Also visit number 3 he was the worst he had been and they didn't clear him out which was critical for his health, and had me give him more laxative. The front desk/vet techs are absolutely amazing, but the vets will cash in on you every opportunity they see and then some, so be careful.

We are first time puppy owners and came for our puppy's first visit…read more The receptionist was okay, they could be a bit more cheerful on the phone and in person... the assistants were nice. They didn't charge us for the first exam, which was nice. The main exam room in the back had a cat strolling around and was an open area with a lot of tools and materials. The vet ....he didn't take the time to gain the trust of my puppy, so she didn't warm to him. And she usually loves all people. We had a lot of questions, as this is our first, and he seemed to brush them off as if they were silly questions and gave us vague "yeah she's fine" type answers. He gave her a half a pill, and she didn't take it, as she didn't trust him. So he forced it down her throat, held her jaws shut, and rubbed her throat to make her swallow it, and guess what? She spat it out...he was not gentle or warm to her at all. He tried it again, and she spat it out. He finally managed to force it down her throat ... it was hard to watch. The second half of the pill I just took the pill and put it in my hand with some treats I had and she took it immediately. Hmmm... I'm not a vet but he could have tried that first instead of being so rough with her ! Not the best first vet experience. We went somewhere else.

I was pretty nervous in bringing my fur baby here as I am pretty protective when it comes to him…read more But there was something off with him and I really didn't want to take him all the way where we used to since we have moved and it's far! He wasn't eating his food and seemed depressed and lethargic. My first impression was like "oh fu$!?" as we were waiting to be seen because I heard a conversation between the two reception/vet assistants where one of them referred to another person's dog as "that lady with that disgusting dog." I was shocked, I wasn't sure if I should have left but I figured whatever, improfessional but shouldn't reflect directly to the Vet himself. We were led into one of the examination rooms shortly and this is when my dog really got nervous. He's an 80 pound Husky/lab/collie and who knows what else mix. A rescue and quite a nervous dog in unfamiliar situations. I was very pleased with how the Vet interacted with him!! Gave him time to gain trust, lick his hand and pet him. I've been to a different place in the past where the Vet got nervous and pretty much half assed the whole examination. Anywhos. He figured that my dog might have an ear infection and couldn't really find anything else wrong with him externally as to why he won't eat his regular food. He was VERY throuough and made suggestions before actually doing them which I found super helpful and nice. He asked before doing any sort of tests. We figured that it might just be the ear infection that had him acting weird and to try that first before anything else. It was pretty expensive. It came to $100 for checkup, ear swab, ear cleaner and an ear drop. I was expecting maybe around $75 range. I would still come back if I had to though!
