My mother in law resides in this facility. It has been a disappointment to say the least. Her…read morecare and responses to needs are hit and miss, mostly miss. The only way to get management (Bobby, the "Executive Director") to respond is to get in front of him to complain. He then responds, but it doesn't last long and problems are reoccurring. I am not one to write a negative review to this degree until tonight. My MIL's room has a critical maintenance issue. We just learned this issue is throughout other rooms. This is a health concern. It was reported to the staff and again the next day to Bobby directly. Our concerns fell on deaf ears. Now on the weekend we learn the problem is not resolved and there is no building maintenance on the weekends. How is it that a facility of this size,with elderly care needs, has no maintenance on weekends? This is unacceptable. In the past all the excuses for lack of attention to issues have been understaffing due to Covid. While we understand the challenges businesses have faced and continue to face, there are things that can't be ignored. Care of our mother cannot be ignored! When she pushes her button she cannot wait an hour for help! Batteries in the alert system around her neck need to be checked regularly by the staff. It's issues such and this that bring us great concern. There have been many kind and caring caregivers who have loved my MIL. For that we are grateful. Unfortunately the best people are leaving and this allows for concern as to why. I wonder what the staff goes through, as we hear there are many unhappy residents with complaints such as ours. I don't know the management personally so I can judge only based on our experience. The conclusion is that this beautiful facility is managed and run poorly. Someone at corporate needs to start paying attention!

Not a good place to care for someone you love. Theft of personal property since my family member…read morehas been there his watch, most of his clothing, his wallet with cash and credit cards inside (3 times), his winter coat (purchased at Christmas 2023) 3 new sets of sheets and matching bedspreads, and most recently a beautiful blanket for his bed with an image of a wolf on it that his daughter had given him. When staff was told about this (each time something comes up missing) we get the same song and dance that they will find the items and return them and then call us back once they have done that but I have yet to see the items nor have I ever received the promised call back. We have spoken to the front desk, the laundress/activity director, the aid that helps him shower(last time he saw his watch) and he still has not had anything returned nor has anyone called back. I have asked to speak to the administrator a number of times only to be told that they couldn't give out his contact information but would give him mine and he would call me. The most recent problem was brought to our attention was when he had someone withdrawn $900.00 from his bank account and then said he needed to withdraw more only 2 days later, and when asked where the first $900.00 was he said that one of the nurse's aide's there was having financial issues and that he had given it to her and had done so many time's since he's been there. When we confronted her about it she denied it at first but then admitted to it and promised to pay it back but only after we said that we were going to report her and file charges. He has yet to receive any money back nor has he gotten any of his belongings back. Keep in mind he is bed ridden and cannot get around unassisted to spend any of the money he has withdrawn and in going through his bank statements recently we have found hundreds of dollars unaccounted for. And if you can call 2 buns and a piece of chicken with no condiments on it a balanced meal there is definitely a problem (don't get me started).

The incompetence started the day we arrived (Friday, 9/19) and is still going on this morning…read more(10/6)! There is NO supervisor available Friday nights and all day on Saturdays. There is nowhere to call and absolutely no one to help. Talk to your nurse...she was the problem! On Sundays the Director of Nursing is there. I spoke to her personally that 1st Sunday, the two sons had major complaints and received a call from the D.O.N. on the 2nd Sunday. We were all in a meeting to discuss the patient and what their prognosis was for him. The D.O.N., Director of Social Services, PT, and the Activities Leader. After the PT talked for most of the time, the Activities Leader asked the patient about his care. When he started telling about that very mornings lack of care, BOTH the D.O.N. AND D.O.S.S. WALKED OUT OF HIS ROOM! STATING THAT THEY HAD ANOTHER MEETING! THEY HAD NOT FINISHED THE MEETING THAT THEY WERE IN! I was so angry and disgusted at the fact that they left the Activity Leader alone to take our complaints, spoke VOLUMES on just how much they DON'T CARE and WHY WE ARE STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS! All we got was excuses from her and I doubt she passed anything along - with the exception of stating how RUDE they were to leave! Filled out a Grievance/Complaint/Concern Form on the 3rd Sunday! However, you turn these forms in to the Director of Social Services, YES the same one that walked out with the Director of Nursing!! My grievance form will never be seen or acknowledged! DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU CAN FEND FOR YOURSELF BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU! CALL LIGHTS ARE ON FOR HOURS BEFORE SOMEONE FINALLY COMES!

Everything is grilled or fried, but it's hot and yummy! Nursing and CNA care is usually good - the key is to not have anything out of the boxes to "confuse" them. Honestly, most of the staff on Rehab and Assisted Living are good - some just don't want to be bothered outside their comfort zone. I remember my daughter saying St Joseph's was the best facility in its income brackets. Certainly, there are others that cost more (a lot more), so, I guess you get what you pay for, and sometimes it's better and sometimes it's worse!!

The staff retention here is far above average and they really care about their patients. Our patients are our family.
