Hank Loves dogs and maybe he gets a little emotional when he talks about how bad they need homes.. that's going to tug on some heart strings.. you just drank 4 bloody Mary's and watched Tom fall in love with a stray cat and then Hank Gets up to showcase a poor puppy in need! He talks about how his late wife Darlene loved helping animals and her dying wish was for Hank to be happy and make the world a better place!! He pulls out a HANKerchief and wipes a solitary tear and smiles and says: I have had a wonderful life, and now it's time for Sampson to have a Wonderful life too, and a hopeful volunteer walks out showcasing a needy dog who has a big smile and is wearing a handsome vest, cause he gets a little cold sometimes.. awww. He love sleeping in the bed, under the covers and his favorite treat are little cubed sweet potato bites.. Hank says: he's a good good boi, and I'm hope that someone has it in their heart to give Sampson his forever home, and if you can't have pets then we hope you make a donation. What's this event called you ask? Hankering for Homes, I just got goosebumps typing that.. i hope that someone who has the money and drive finds it in their heart to organize this event, I would really like to attend... We have an open catering policy where you pick your own caterer, or bring in your own food, you determine your own food and beverage budget. Liquior can be provide for your guest you can not sell liquor to your guest. The lower banquet room has the stone fireplace with full kitchen it rents for 500.00 the Ballroom is on the upper level it also rents for 500.00 it does not have a kitchen if you would like both level it would be 975.00 for the day 10am to midnight. There is a 150.00 deposit to hold your date. We only take cash or checks or PayPal.. Each room holds 195 people. We have round tables that seat 8, and rectangle that are 6 ft. 5 ft. and 8 ft. I also rent white chair covers 1.00 each and white/black linen tablecloths at 4.00 each. Table runners at 1.00 each and chair sashes at .50 each. We also have a PA system with wireless micphones,5 disc CD player, am/fm radio and it hooks up to your iPod, phone or laptop the PA system rents for 75.00. Went out for a girls night, it apparently was "karaoke" night which consisted of the owners singing loudly and maybe 1 or 2 other people coming up to sing (there were only 4 other people there while we were there for a couple hours). We asked to see a drink menu, no drink menu. Just some wine slushies (the red one tasted like just red wine in some ice, the white one was okay) and you can "order anything it's an open bar." When I come to a restaurant I want to see a menu, I don't want to come up with my own drinks. They kept suggesting ordering food so we asked to see a menu for that, no food menu either. They can "make basically anything" yet the options seemed pretty limited. I'd like to note that the owner, a waitress, and another staff member were constantly coming to our table to push ordering and make suggestions. It was so overwhelming. The owner is very in your face. We were honestly just trying to have a relaxing evening by the river but it was anything but. Back to the food, between our group we ordered chicken salad, pasta salad and burgers. The chicken salad tasted spoiled, and my burger was a thin frozen burger patty with no flavor on a thick/dry bun. I ate a couple bites but it was so bad, however I didn't say anything to the waitress and planned to just pay my bill. The waitress then brought out the chef, who very rudely asked "you didn't like the burger or what?" I explained that no I didn't like it (for the reasons mentioned above), he said I could've made you something else, I said no thank you. He said I'll make sure it's taken off the bill and stormed off. The interaction was very intimidating and absolutely not the way to treat a guest dining at your restaurant. The owner claims to have a lot of experience in restaurants/hospitality but there is 0 evidence of that at this place. The only positive was the waitress who was very attentive.
