Instead, it turned into one of the most disappointing experiences our family has ever had. The biggest issue was that the cruise itself was nothing like what was advertised. Before we even left the dock, crew members told passengers that the boat doesn't actually travel anywhere scenic. They said it simply goes back and forth through the industrial section of the Raritan River and that there was "nothing to look at." This was shocking considering the website advertises views of the Raritan Bay and New Jersey waterways. Because my father uses a wheelchair, we were seated on the main deck. Our original table had no windows at all, so we asked to move. The dining room was mostly empty, so they accommodated us, but the windows at our new table were so filthy that we couldn't even see outside until my husband asked a crew member to clean them. The food was equally disappointing. Dinner was plated with no menu choices. The pasta was overcooked, portions of it were cold as if it had been refrigerated and reheated, and the fish did not taste fresh. For a dinner cruise charging these prices, the quality was unacceptable. Our waiter was kind and apologetic throughout the evening, and I genuinely felt bad for him. He repeatedly explained they were understaffed and had no busser, which meant dirty dishes sat on our table for long stretches between courses. This was clearly a management problem, not a server problem. Even small details were handled poorly. Coffee was listed as included, but when I asked for a cup, I was told, "It's not time for coffee. That comes with dessert." The dining room was freezing, and when we asked if the air conditioning could be adjusted, we were told it couldn't because people were dancing on another deck. The cocktails were expensive and poorly made. At the end of the evening, we couldn't even leave without hunting down our waiter to get the check. Despite an automatic 20% gratuity already being added to the bill, we were still encouraged to leave an additional tip. This experience cost us nearly $600 for four people, and it was worth nowhere near that amount. We left feeling disappointed that such an important family celebration had been spoiled. There are far better ways to spend an evening--and far better places to spend your money. I cannot recommend Cornucopia Cruise Line to anyone.

I say attempting because it was like "take your kid to work day and let them steer." Forward, back, again and again, to the point that people from another ship had to help get the Princess tied off. Not sure if it was the piloting or those responsible for securing the ship. It was horrible. We finally started disembarking at 11:25. In the rain. If they had docked when we first pulled up, we would have missed the rain completely. No explanation, email to offer any consideration, nothing.

Auntie Ka was present, front & center; even whispering in my Uncle B's ear, after he walked their radiant Princess down the aisle; Thank you‼ Lake Chateau Banquets is under new ownership, and they are batting a 1,000! Hitting home runs; regularly. When Rashanda, her Maid of honor & I on a few occasions had to discuss her contract from the prior ownership, without hesitation; the new ownership honored everything, relieving all stress triggers. He was very communicative--even with the 13 hour time difference, I was able to coordinate with him easily. I had my husband be taken out of the house three hours before the party to set up... the balloon arch was delivered right on time. The photographer showed up half an hour earlier than the party. The magician I wanted to hire was booked somewhere else and I only found out a few days before, but the balloon sculpture artist Mark recommended instead was an absolute hit with the kids as well as the adults, which was a pleasant surprise. He made my husband the most outrageous birthday hat. Right when he was supposed to be done, one of the kids tripped and popped his balloons and got upset, and he stayed longer to make him (and a few other stragglers) more balloons. Truly kind. The photographer David was also really so helpful, friendly, and on it! He came early and helped with some of the set up... he was attentive and also very nice to talk to. Very natural (sometimes it's awkward when a photographer's in your face taking pictures but it wasn't awkward at all). We got a USB full of pictures right after the party!
