We adopted a rescue puppy 6 weeks ago and life has been a living nightmare since. This poor puppy was separated from the mother and litter mates at 4-5 weeks old. Way too young. The people who took him locked him in a crate 24 hours a day except to teach him to pee. They then decided he was too much trouble and my big hearted daughter brought him home for a "temporary visit". That was 6 weeks ago and the going has been rough. He has not been socialized, is a beagle-lab mix full of pent up energy, who bites and howls constantly. To make matters worse, he is a highly intelligent puppy who has been training us rather than vice versa. I actually called the local humane society to discuss surrendering him. They suggested that I speak with Debbie Birmingham of Paw Print before making the decision. She used to be the behavior specialist there. I did and the following day Debbie came for her first visit--which lasted for three hours!-to do a full assessment. She was amazing with the puppy and by the time she had finished, we all were exhausted, including the puppy, but not Debbie. She worked with him over and over and over. By the time she left, his behavior was so improved. He sat, laid down, stopped his biting, and followed her commands. She is returning next week for more training and will bring her Golden Retriever to help socialize our orphan puppy further. Obviously, is it us who need to be trained on how to handle this puppy. All thanks to Debbie. Her fees are soooooooo reasonable and happily makes house call. Best dog trainer ever.

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

She had plenty of tips and techniques and it was nice having her visit the home for the sessions to see how he is in that environment. After several mixed purpose sessions I feel like we're on the path to success, maybe. We hope .

Review, K9 Lifesaver Guy Beyond wonderful and a lifesaver…read more I cannot even put into words how much he helped me. I had taken in an abandoned dog, a pitbull mix, who was young but adult size and 56 pounds. He was not fixed so had scheduled him for neutering, but it would take some time. It was fine, I could not spend time with him because he was attracted to my leg, to take him out in the backyard was off could do. He was well behaved. However, the backyard neighbors have been away with their dogs in the head come back on a Saturday. Starting Saturday night, after being in the backyard when the other dogs were backyard, he started really hyper. And Sunday he just won't be berserk, he somehow got out of a closed door room, he had scratched the door had put a hole in the wall. He chased after my cats, and he was going on the tables and I just couldn't control him. I called different places, thinking I had to get rid of them right away for my cats. It was a Sunday night so I had no luck. Until I called North Florida K9 Behavior Center and luckily, he answered the phone. He was a godsend. He calmed me down because I was hysterical. Gave me great information about neutering and what to expect after you neuters. He also gave me a lot of great psychological canine behavior, tips and information explain so much he helped me get a plan together, which I was too hysterical otherwise to have done without him. It set a plan to put Teddy in the garage with the cage, and to keep him away from the cats, meaning I would take him directly from the garage, the backyard and not to the house. he called me down enough to realize that the neutering process would help a lot, and that it was OK to keep him in the garage for now for his safety safety of my cats and my sanity. I literally don't know what I would have done without him. Teddy is still waiting neutering so after Teddy has that procedure, and finishes his vaccine boosters, our plan to call him again. You can't go wrong with a person who's so understanding, so calm, know so much about any more behavior and psychology, someone who takes the time out of their off time to help deal with a hysterical person, which she did not have to do. I highly recommend his services.
