I normally don't write reviews for a business. However, when a business goes out of their way to…read moremake the experience special, I am willing to let others know about this business. We are snowbirds in St Augustine for 3 months from Wisconsin. We had heard that Happy Paws Pet Grooming and Rita were absolute the Best Groomer in St Augustine. I agree that Rita is the Best Groomer in St Augustine. We have a mini schnauzer. Maddie is her name. She is almost 11 years old and needs a grooming every 5 to 6 weeks. Not only was this grooming the best cut Maddie ever had, but the grooming experience was also the best. From the reviews it was known that Happy Paws Pet Grooming was very busy, and we may not be able to make an appointment. Well, Rita went out of her way to get Maddie in for a grooming, Take the chance and try to make an appointment, it is worth it. Several other reviews here thought this was their mini schnauzer best cut. I would agree with them. Upon arriving, the first thing Rita and her assistant did was to kneel down to Maddie's level and gave her some loving. Most times taking Maddie to a new groomer will cause Maddie to show her fear by shivering. This did not happen with Rita, Rita put Maddie on a bed, not in a dog crate, while we check in. Maddie was ready to pick up is 2 hours. When we came back to pick up Maddie, she was on the bed, not in crate. Thanks Rita, for making this a pleasant experience for Maddie and us. I can remember having another groomer in St Augustine taking over 6 hours to groom Maddie. We were expecting a call after 3 hours. The call never came. We finally went to the groomer's business only to find a shivering Maddie just getting her grooming started. This means that Maddie was in a crate for hours before her grooming. Thanks again Rita for Maddie's best mini schnauzer cut and making Maddie feel welcome and comfortable when we arrived. You put Maddie at ease and you also put us at ease.

I have already requested my clinical records and received some that are missing events and have not…read morereceived others so I could properly move my survivors to a different clinic. I also requested copies of all my invoices from 2019 - 2023 to review after charge discrepancies. Two months later I have received only invoices for one animal. Needless to say this is unacceptable. Transparency in Billing is a must especially when dealing with multiple rescues. Don't expect it from the office staff. Dr Grossman was an exceptional, compassionate Vet. I use the past tense after another rushed wellness check failed to find a issue that resulted in another death of a beloved friend. That was strike "Four". All the pictures you see are of the Deceased. In order of appearance the cause of death: Unknown, died in Xray. Spinal Injury misdiagnosed after original accident. Cancer tumor missed during wellness exam (caught just weeks later by another Vet). And last is my longtime best friend, another mass missed at his wellness check but caught two weeks later during grooming by me. Cause of Death? Put to Sleep after a long battle with "I don't know", no conclusive pathology after biopsy. Summing it up: Veterinarian over booked missing problems, front-end staff unprofessional, new vet technicians seriously unacceptable, and surgery done in a non sterile open area with kennel cages of sick or recovering animals and people walking thru feet away in non sterile clothing.

I was in shock when I received the bill aside from calling to let them know I was on disability…read moreapparently that didn't concern them . Fit a total of 15 minutes spent with my fur baby I was charged a $72 visit plus was charged for nails that I couldn't tell where done. I am not a person who doesn't pay her bills but this was an unexpected charge and now it puts me in a bad situation. I won't go back except to pay them they should be ashamed doing that to an elderly person on disability
