This is one of the cockroaches we found in the morning
    Dawnelle K.

We rented a beautiful condo on the beach at the Crescent Keyes room 1110 in North Myrtle beach in August 2023. We stayed there 5days/nights for $1800. The condo was absolutely beautiful! We loved the view, beach access, all the pools, it was perfect for our family! Or so we thought.. Our major issue was COCKROACHES. The first night was great no issues the second night we woke up to multiple German Cockroaches in the kitchen and utility closet. I called North Beach Reality and was told that someone from maintenance would come spray but the palmetto cockroaches were native to the area. My husband stayed in the condo most of the day to speak with the maintenance worker to see what we should do with our own belongings. No one ever showed up. We started looking up the differences between German cockroaches and the American (palmetto) cockroaches and 100% the ones in the condo were German. The office had closed for the day, so I emailed North Beach Reality and told them that no one had came to spray. That night we left every light on in the kitchen, utility closet and dining room since they are generally nocturnal. The next morning we got up only to find more cockroaches. I checked my email and they did email back stating that someone had been there to spray but they would send someone else back out to spray again. I emailed them back letting them know that no one had been out the day before (I know for a fact they hadn't because we had placed things to see if someone had entered into the condo while we were gone). I also asked the realty company what should we do with our belongings. Their suggestion seemed like they were blowing me off, they said- "just shake out your clothes really well and keep your luggage zipped up". Our clothes were hung up and luggage was zipped but they can still travel... I am from Ohio where cockroaches are not native and are generally associated with unclean atmospheres. Bed bugs and cockroaches freak me out and I do not want to infect my own house with these. We didn't see any bugs other than in the kitchen, beside the refrigerator was a lot of roach feces. I posted pictures for you to make you're own decision on if you think it is "just" a palmetto bug. We saw with our own eyes around 20+ bugs each morning we woke up. If they sprayed wouldn't we find dead roaches? I honestly don't know how long it takes but I can tell you we didn't see any dead unless we killed them. I don't know if what we did was right but we washed literally every piece of clothing and immediately once it was removed from the dryer it was placed in a garbage bag and and tied off then duct tape around the knot. Our luggage is hard shelled so we placed it in a large trash bag with diatomaceous earth and then tied up with the duct tape. (We weren't messing around!) You would think for the $1800 it would be amazingly, perfect! And who goes on vacation only to make a $70 trip to Lowe's for cockroach killer? I was so excited for this vacation and staying in such a beautiful condo that is now completely over shadowed by the infestation.

Crescent Shores condo 109S is the one we stayed in it is very clean I didn't have any of the problems in the photos that we saw of the other places and we rented this for a week from condo world. The owners have a very nice taste and you're keeping it very clean and very updated. Plenty of pots and pans silverware in the cabinets. There's even a storage closet with boogie boards and golf clubs and chairs and umbrellas and send toys that you can borrow and return and put back in the closet. Do units on the first floor right above the pool looking out at the ocean. What a fabulous choice. Plenty of parking across the street. The apartment is very spacious two bedrooms two bathrooms two lovely couches and chairs and tables and high tops at the counter. Plenty of patio furniture. And I believe the owners stay here also so that's why it's in such good condition and cared for. You cannot go wrong by renting this place.

    BED BUGS

Unit 210 had bed bugs. When we discovered this on day two of our Trip, we were told we had to leave our things there for 3 days and couldn't retrieve them until that time had passed. This was because they couldn't get anyone to come clean until the following day. We had to fight for our FULL REFUND, which we did eventually get thankfully. The room was very very dirty. Don't waste money here. Find somewhere else!!!

If I could leave less than one star I gladly would. By far the worst vacation rental experience I've ever had. The suite was roomy and seemed nice at first glance but it was FILTHY. More than half of the dishes had dried on food that was never washed. I wish I was exaggerating but sadly 9/12 plates had visible dried food stuck to it. The front office said all of their dishes are washed by hand and if that's the case there should be no reason for filthy dishes. The front office said there's nothing they can do for me. Very unhelpful management and even worse housekeeping. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

    Nice mattress bro.

Typical rental. This is the penthouse suite 1812. The view is good but that's pretty much it. Eliot does a poor job at cleaning these properties and the owners are not much better off. The penthouse is nothing to be impressed about.

Great view from every room and every room has a large balcony. Roomy and pretty well maintained rooms. Fitness center was pretty nice. Lazy river, indoor and outdoor pools and a hot tub available if you don't want to be on the beach all the time. Ample parking nearby. The only down side is a very small area to park temporarily to check in and unload your car. If someone can't park properly and is taking up multiple spots, this is even worse.

We used VRBO to book a 4 bedroom condo, 1301 in the North Tower and 2 of the 4 bedrooms had bedbugs. The owner responded by contacting her "service" who was an older gentleman that I suspect was her husband. He came after and hour-and-a-half and vacuumed them up! At 4:00 PM on a Saturday evening we had to find accommodations for 9 people which luckily we did. The owner was unwilling to help in any way stopped responding to emails and texts. She did text the next morning stating that her "service came in overnight and sprayed chemicals and everything was ok". This was suspect. What legitimate pest control service is going to come out on a Saturday night between 8PM and 6AM to treat for bed bugs. Also, 1 treatment doesn't completely eradicate bedbugs. Bottom line is this property isn't someplace you want to stay! There are too many other properties in Myrtle Beach that would be superior!

In addition, the pools were nice plus you have multiple pools to choose from. In the evening, the 2nd floor patio with fire pit was great to hang out and relax. Parking is directly across the street in the parking garage. Very quick and easy to get to. Starbucks across the street as well. Highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!

Check in was a breeze. Staff was super friendly. This hotel is located in a great spot...within walking distance to lots of eateries and direct access to the beach. All of the rooms have ocean views. Initially I thought the bed position was weird but I quickly appreciated waking up to views of the beach and ocean. Everything was clean and well appointed in our king room. My only complaint is that the towels were pretty bad and extremely thin, more so than any other hotel I've visited. We went to the bar on the second floor to people watch. It's a cute spot and has access to outdoor seating with a view and fire pits. Our drinks were just "ok"...I've never had ice in a French 75 and my husband's old fashioned was made with crushed ice and not a ball or large cube which was odd. There is ample parking in the deck across the street. Overall, a nice stay!

Resort amenities are abundant and include direct beach access, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, (small) lazy rivers, a fitness center, an arcade, and a fire pit. We made a relatively late reservation here for five nights when we learned that international guests would be visiting. There would be seven guests (all adults) for two nights, and only four of us for the other three nights. We used extra timeshare points (making it more expensive) in order to get a unit on an upper floor, hoping that the upper floor would give us the best ocean view. Unit. (3/5). Our unit in Tower 2 was spacious (especially when there were only 4 of us), and had everything that we needed and was clean. We especially appreciated the fully-stocked full kitchen with generous pantry space, having a washer and dryer in the unit, and the jacuzzi in the main bedroom (which we under-utilized!). The beds were comfortable, and had high quality linens. However, we were somewhat disappointed with the unit as our ocean view was limited (although you could see the ocean, beach, and one of the pools from our balcony). And, as the resort was built in 2002, and last renovated in 2011, it's now beginning to show its age -- with sofas and chairs that were no longer firm, some chips on furniture, and the musty smell that comes with high humidity. Amenities and Activities. (3.5/4). Tower 2 was convenient, and had many amenities that we utilized. It was home to the Lobby and Registration, had direct beach access, a lazy river, access to indoor and outdoor pools, game room/arcade, activities center, gift shop, and fire pit. As with our room, some of the amenities need upgrades. For instance, the hot tub was lukewarm at best, and the markings on the shuffleboard had eroded off. The resort also had a full calendar of "Resort Experiences", which included arts and crafts, shows, fitness classes, and more. HOWEVER, we were three days in before we even learned that there were resort activities, as we weren't given a schedule at check-in. For instance, we would've gone to the Sunday evening "Karaoke Welcome Party" at the fire pit, but we weren't aware. We DID enjoy the "Hula Fire Show" a few nights later. A few other random points. (1) Parking could be challenging if it's important to you to have parking close to your unit. If not, there's plentiful parking (and a free shuttle, which we didn't utilize) behind Tower 4. We were able to get parking in Tower 2 most evenings, except one evening when we got back late. (2) we were surprised that the concierge did have discount tickets to the shows in Myrtle Beach that we wanted to attend. (3) we would stay here again, but probably wouldn't pay extra again for a higher floor.

The property is located on the beach but surrounded by plenty of restaurants and just a minute drive away from the shopping outlets. Check-in was a breeze and of course, you have to encounter the dreaded timeshare "owner update" speech when picking up your parking pass, but I declined despite the push of 15,000 points or dinner certificates as well all know it's never just a 60-minute update... However, I politely declined again as I travel for work quite a bit and accrue my share of hotel points and airline miles... Anywho, I reserved a 1 bedroom deluxe through the timeshare site and I ended up in the South Tower, 14th floor, and in a nicely sized oceanview room. Loved the hardwood floors, modern decor, full kitchen w/coffee maker, blender, and dining/cookware, washer/dryer, nice comfy king bed and the roomy stand-alone shower. The indoor and outdoor pools were nice along with the easy beach access. The weather was very nice and going this time of year was great as it wasn't too crowded due summer break not starting yet, so it was very peaceful and relaxing. I'm sure they called my room several times to get me attend the timeshare owner update, but I just disconnected the phone line from both phones to have a nice and peaceful stay. Check-out was just as easy and they printed me an invoice to show no charges (my first time ever receiving one as an owner ever), but no big deal... Even though I completed all of the online pre-registration beforehand, I had to repeat the entire process at the front desk because they couldn't find any record of it. The line was long, instructions were minimal, and parking was confusing. Both towers park in the Indigo garage, and you have to use the third-floor walkway to get to the other tower--information that wasn't clearly explained. The room itself was the biggest disappointment. The layout is incredibly long and narrow and honestly just... odd. The master bedroom shares a wall with the public hallway, and because we were close to the elevator, we heard people talking at all hours. It felt more like sleeping in a hallway than a bedroom. The furnishings are badly overdue for an update. The furniture feels worn out, the closet door came off its track when opened, the master sink barely drained, the safe battery was dead (maintenance had to replace it), and the sheets felt like sandpaper. There were no USB charging ports or convenient outlets like you find in just about every hotel these days. The "kitchen" is really just a mini fridge (without a freezer), microwave, sink, toaster, coffee maker, and blender. Then the layout gets even stranger. The living room has a sofa bed, but there were no pillows and only one set of sheets stored in the master closet. Meanwhile, the second bathroom connected to the living room is enormous--with dual vanities, a huge shower, and a Jacuzzi tub--while the master bathroom is the size of a basic Holiday Inn bathroom. The whole setup feels backwards. The ocean and pool view was beautiful, but the room itself felt like a design that never figured out what it wanted to be. One of my biggest frustrations was the housekeeping policy. We were charged a daily housekeeping fee (nearly $30 per day), yet the paperwork says they don't actually provide housekeeping. The first two days no one even came until I called. When they finally did, they simply emptied the trash and left a couple of clean towels on the counter. Charging a daily housekeeping fee without providing daily housekeeping feels misleading. To top it off, the only proactive phone call we received during our stay wasn't to see if everything was okay--it was someone trying to sell us a "timeshare". There are also no ice machines in the tower and no front desk staff nearby if you need assistance, so every issue requires contacting the separate check-in building. For the price we paid (roughly $500+ per night after resort fees, housekeeping fees, marketing fees, and taxes), I expected a much more polished experience. Instead, it felt dated, confusing, and overpriced. The ocean view was lovely, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to make up for everything else. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.
