I came in recently to get alterations done for 3 pairs of slacks/trousers (the original stitches were all blind stitches), and waist adjustment for 1 of them. It was very straight forward, I explained what I was looking to get done, and was given a time frame for when they'd be done by. Prices weren't discussed, but it was partially my fault for not asking and I didn't think much of it. After about a week, I came back to pick up my pants and was quoted $112. I was quite surprised by the cost, but I figured that the waist alterations made up most of the total, which is very understandable. I was in a rush and had an appointment to get to, so I didn't check the pants right then, nor did the owner present them or ask if I wanted to quality check before leaving. The pants that required a waist adjustment and length alterations, was done well and completed as a blind stitch, which matches the original. However, the other 2 pants, were surged but completed as lock stitches rather than blind stitches, which I was very surprised and disappointed by as that completely ruins the original look and it was not stated in the beginning that she would do different types of stitches for the pants. I bought these trousers for work and with the stitching now being visible externally, it makes them look less professional. In addition, the allowance for each pair of pants was different and very noticable along with any other small mistakes that were made, such as the surge thread not being pulled and secured, excess thread not being cut, thread from seam ripping not being removed, etc. At the very least, the length of the pants were mostly correct. I expected better considering the total cost and it being my first experience at a professional tailor. Overall, I would've appreciated if there was more communication and transparency regarding the pricing and type of stitching being done, and if there was more consistency and quality check being done. I'm mostly speaking from my experience doing alterations in a retail space, so it was disappointing that this was the level of quality at a dedicated business for these services. read more

We picked up my wedding dress after 6 months of them claiming they could get the stain out. The stain is still on the dress after paying $180 for services. They didn't offer some of the money back and just said they did what they could. I am really disappointed. Horrible. I asked the lady working there to add button holes to a baptism dress. Picked it up today and the sewing job was very sloppy and there were yellow markings around the buttonholes. I didn't notice till I got home. I cannot believe the lady thought that this job was good enough to give back to a customer. People have no work ethics or pride in what they do anymore. Bad experience with alternation. Needed a long dress hemmed. The first time the male worker pinned the dress and suggested two inch hem. When the dress was ready, I tried it on and it was dragging on the floor. I had to return and the female owner agreed to fix it but charge me half the price rather then fixing it for free. She insisted it was my fault for agreeing to the inch hem. Third visit went to pick it up and it was not ready by afternoon. Fourth visit and $30 later finally got my dress with correct length. read more

So this is my first review of a business...I don't usually post reviews, but I'm SOOO upset with Crest that I have to vent and hopefully warn others. I took in 2 pairs of Paige Denim jeans to get altered--VERY CLEARLY specifying--approx 4 times-- that I wanted the ORIGINAL hem. The older Asian lady at the front desk stated that she understood, but would NOT write the request on my ticket (weird). I asked her..."are you sure they'll have the original hem? because you're not writing it on the ticket (receipt)." Her response was "yeah yeah I know what you want." Yes, from this response I should have taken my jeans elsewhere but I decided to keep them there because they did a decent job with altering my Winter coat last year, and ASSUMED that my request would be granted. Picked up my jeans today and they're totally ruined...They don't have the original hem...instead they were cut and sewn and look sooo lame. So I ask to speak with the manager and of course she's not there....when she finally called me back, she claims that I NEVER told her that I wanted the original hem!!! SERIOUSLY???? who gets their jeans altered nowadays without the original hem? I'm so livid and will most likely go to small claims court considering how much I paid for the jeans. Great store, really old school but the person there is really nice. I think its own by the Older sister and a younger sister, Both Korean. Really polite. I needed my suit to be adjusted for a more slim tight fit, and she did a great job. Even though the suit was too large for much an adjustment, she did the best to help me. She charged 20 for the cut down the middle and 17 for the sleeves, I found the price reasonable so I didn't bother to bargain it down. I knew she would lower the price but I don't have a problem paying for good service. The cut was done perfectly, I couldn't even tell she adjusted the back or the sleeves, Great work. I gave her plenty of time to work on my suit, so I wouldn't know how fast she could get it done if the job was rush. Either way I plan to come here again for future adjustments as well as dry cleaning. read more

service - Terrible Initially I had 3 slacks hemmed. 1 slack did come out a bit too short - no biggie - I decided to take it back to have it lengthened. I took it back with my next load of dry-cleaning, which had four other slacks. When I picked up this batch of dryCleaning... ALL fours slacks + the slacks I requested to be lengthened.. had been altered! I only needed 1 pair fixed but instead all 5 were! hahahaha Then the lady at the front counter forgot rule #1 of customer service - that being 'the customer is always right' - she didn't offer to fix them. she didn't offer to remove the alterations charge. she didn't even come across as though she cared. My daughter bought a jacket for her winter formal, and it was too big. We only had three days to get it altered. We had never been to Crest, but driving up Myrtle on our way home, we decided to give it a shot. The woman who helped us was amazing...she made the alteration, tightened the button (one huge button that holds the garment closed), and beautifully pressed the jacket.
