No reservations required, first come first serve but every time we have come we never had a problem finding a spot even on a holiday weekend like labor day. We played in the lake with our dog Daisy, she absolutely loves swimming for toys and the water amazing! It was cold but not freezing, we want to bring our paddle boards next time. We park at mountain view overlook, be sure to pay the fee to park or you will get a ticket! We love coming here, the views are amazing and it's never too crowded. Highly recommend stopping by or camping here.

It's a nice walk around, right in the town of Aspen. Kid friendly dog friendly but not wheelchair accessible, it was a rocky path with some stones crossing little streams. We hiked from Aspen to Crested Butte and booked the 4pm shuttle from the trailhead into town. The…read moreweather was bad and we had a hailstorm and lightning preventing us from traversing the pass until the storm blew over. We were stuck with a bunch of other passengers from our shuttle. They hurried across and made it, but we didn't get to the trailhead until 4:30. Dolly's shuttle didn't wait for us, knowing the conditions and despite the insistance of the other hikers. We were stranded without cell service in the area. When we finally were able to text them, they said they'd come back in 1.5 hours and charge us an additional $110. Their policy is a 15 minute grace period. We were able to hitchhike down, but lost the money from the original booking. We also had the shuttle booked for the return trip. After which, they texted us requesting we send a tip. Here's a tip: be more considerate of your customers.

They have a nice clean bathroom that is only available to customers; I found a cute pair of earrings for $10 and used the bathroom before shipping out. Kebler Corner is one of those places you know is special the second you pull over. It sits along a…read morestunning stretch of Colorado landscape at celebrated Kebler Pass. Quiet. Cinematic. Effortlessly beautiful. This is the exact spot where you turn for the long, winding road toward Crested Butte, cutting straight through what is the greatest aspen stand in the world. I haven't been received by the hotel yet, but honestly, based on location alone, it's a future no-brainer. When those aspens go golden in the fall, this area is unreal. There's something magical about being right at the gateway to that drive. For anyone who loves Colorado the way New Yorkers love a great view and a great story, Kebler Corner already earns five stars.

Fantastic hike to the lake: Roughly 2.8 miles with about 2000 feet of elevation gain. Lovely vistas and streams the whole way. Wildflowers abound aplenty all along the trail if you hit it right. Great campsites ( please pack out everything and no wood fires). Great hike to Electric Pass with slight exposure. Dogs are allowed on the trail. Smallish parking lot Last mile is on bad road and a small car might have problems....just saying

Amazing views of cathedral peak and other mountains. At the lake there were backpackers that camped out over night to hike cathedral peak. Definitely a climb only for experienced people especially with all the snow. The parking lot is small and up a dirt road that low clearance cars can reach. The path is hard to find in the snow at the top but we just followed footprints and the sound of the water. There is no service on the road and ok the hike. Highly recommend this hike, especially when the lake isn't iced over.

One of the more larger parks accommodating many sporting events such as baseball, football, soccer,…read moreand lacrosse as well festivals during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. There are a few areas that has covering where you can have a barbecue with tables and benches. This place also has a nice well equipped playground for children 4-10 years old. A favorite of our daughters. The fields are well maintained as well as the facilities and ample free parking, even during major events such as the Summerfest Balloon Bash. Surrounding the park there are walking and bike paths with a river nearby should you decide to try your luck at fishing. Whether, if you looking for a nice place to walk, bike, run, or have a picnic, Crown Mountain Park is always a good option.

I was only in town for 24 hours, I didn't have hiking boots or tevas. Plus it was overcast and windy. So this park gave us the opportunity to get outside, walk around. Plus I was the only one to make it to the top of the rock wall. Which says nothing about my athletic abilities, but says a lot about how athletically lame my companions were!

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is absolutely worth visiting. The canyon is stunning,…read moreand there are numerous overlooks that provide incredible views without requiring a hike. If you do enjoy hiking, there are several trails to choose from as well. One thing we really appreciated was that the park is pet-friendly. Dogs are allowed on all overlooks and on select trails, which are clearly marked, making it easy to plan your visit if you're traveling with a pet. The park has a visitor center, restrooms, and drinking water fountains, but they do not sell bottled water, so be sure to bring plenty with you--especially during the summer. Many of the trails are fairly short, but there is very little shade, so you'll be in direct sunlight for much of your visit. We visited shortly after a wildfire, so there were some burned trees and shrubs throughout the park. Even so, the scenery was still incredibly beautiful and well worth the trip. If you don't have an America the Beautiful National Parks Pass, admission is $30 per vehicle. Overall, this is a fantastic park with breathtaking views, whether you're stopping at the overlooks or spending the day hiking.

It's further out west in Colorado so it takes a bit of effort to find yourself here but you will be rewarded if you venture out west. First of all this part of Colorado is gorgeous and a bit less traveled so you'll have more space to yourself which is lovely. The canyon itself is incredible. It reminded me a lot of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone if you've ever seen that. We did several smaller hikes around the rim as we had little kids in tow. Be sure to hold onto those small hands as I was pretty nervous about them falling in since it's just a big ol' drop around the edges. All that being said, this is a great park and I'd love to return sometimes without kids or when the kids are older to do one of the bigger hikes.
