The things we used to love--a solid breakfast, delightful wine dispensers in the lobby, Adirondack chairs on the lawn, and accessible staff are basically all gone to $:&:. The breakfast has become a motel 6 continental. No eggs, no gluten free (come on! Even Cheerios is gluten free) limited coffee availability. The wine dispensers? Let's see. My first $9 glass sputtered and was empty. The second tasted like vinegar. And no a front desk person in sight to help make it right. Tiny sandpaper towels. Did this place change owners? We brought three other couples with us this time and I feel a bit embarrassed by the quality decline.

Elevation could use a face lift but her location and people make the experience. Personal shout out to Marco who has been a fixture at Elevation for years.

It was a ghost town, which is fine however there wasn't many staff around to get service, and the coffee shop and bike shops were closed. Overall, the place was nice but felt "tired". Things seemed a little worn out and there was always a horrible mildew smell at the elevator foyer for our floor. Pool and outdoor hot tubs were in need of some upkeep. There is really nowhere else to park, so we got hit with a $30 a day parking fee to park in the grimy garage. There was also a high resort fee that was unexpected. If Elevation remains the same and doesn't get a makeover - I wouldn't stay there again.

All I had was a bed and a dresser. No chair. Our air-conditioning was broke and the room look like a hospital room. We brought all of this to the front desk attention and they said there was nothing they could do because it was booked. They did end up having maintenance come up look at the AC and then decide to bring in a mobile air-conditioning venting it outside the window. The maintenance gentleman was awesome and the only person at the hotel that seemed to care. We will never stay here again.

But I texted the staff, they said they'd already found it and they sent it back to me! I was thrilled and super grateful. All the staff members were warm and friendly, and the location is ideal for easy access to the best that Crested Butte has to offer in the summertime. I loved the delicious house-baked cookies every afternoon. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

The afternoon cookies and all-day coffee/tea/cocoa are a nice touch, though the cookies run out fast. Breakfast is tasty but simple & carb-heavy: bagels, pastries, muffins, fruit, hardboiled eggs. The hotel is dog friendly, which can be a bit annoying since they don't seem to have any rule against leaving the dog. We stopped back for a bit around dinner time and there were dogs in two adjacent rooms constantly barking at each other.

Would you put your clothes in here? We booked a place that's supposed to have kitchen facilities. The kitchen facilities consisted of a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. The layout prevents access from one side of the bed. Vacasa is also useless. Before we checked in on February 11th, they sent a million notifications with useless information and incorrect information. They have been useless in getting anything rectified. They keep saying the right tickets but I don't know what the tickets are for.. because there's never anything that happens from them. Not that this matters, but the decor is circa 1976. When we came in yesterday, the door to the closet was hanging loose. To their credit someone came immediately and fixed it. Perhaps I would have been better off in a hostel! There were other minor issues but why would anyone want to come to a place where they don't have hot water to take a shower

This review is strictly for the Crested Butte Mountain Lodge portion and not so much on the…read moremountain itself, which was also fantastic. I wanted to write this for those curious and wondering if it's worth staying at. In short, yes it was. Some of ya'll have never stayed a truly terrible ski resort and it shows. This was one of the better ski resorts we stayed out hands down. Kitchenette: Lovely and perfect for us as we wanted to bring a bunch of food and avoid eating at the resort itself ($11 pretzels and the sort). Our pantry contained: dish soap, dish washer with 2 dishwashing pods, 1 pot, 1 pan, utensils, paper towel, plates, a mini fridge that actually held quite a bit, a dish rag and items for coffee along with the coffee maker. I'm making this list as I was curious prior to coming. There was a knife, but no cutting board, nor was there any kind of measuring spoons or cups in case you plan on making anything more involved. For us, it was pretty perfect with lots of extra space to store snacks. I do wish I brought along a little sponge and a small tupperware for leftovers. Bathroom: The water pressure wasn't terrible but the water wasn't hot until we spoke with the front desk. Apparently, they pushed a magic button because the next time we showered it was a lot warmer, but still not super hot. The toiletries are all large in size and will last you more than your time here. Also, extra points for the huge bottle of lotion which definitely helped with the dry skin. Bed: The bed itself is more on the firm side, which I usually prefer, but it still hurt my back every day. This was pretty much the biggest complaint I would have. Amenities and Etc: The hot tub is lovely but gets really crowded. And despite the warning signs, there are definitely little yelling screaming kids as well as frat guys getting day drunk playing music on their phones for all to hear. However, if you can get here at the perfect time when the crowd has thinned out, it'll feel so good on your muscles and you'll be glad you brought your swimsuits. Room overall: Although it wasn't perfect, our room was very homey and extremely comfortable. For our entire day here we had nothing but really great service. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the ski lifts. Also, really loved the ski valet. No more lugging skis and snowboards to the room.

Each, "magic carpet" has a slightly different angle allowing your little one (or big one) to progress safely. I would say this is a place where you come to enjoy a beautiful, compact mountain town with great possibilities for skiing. There are so many options to test yourself and try something a bi more challenging without having to work your way across miles of lifts and hiking. Granted, lifts are probably some o the slowest I have experienced in the Rockies but, tolerable due to exhaustion from some great runs. You honestly could ski just about any terrain possible here really letting yourself progress into a more capable skier and have a lot of fun. I will absolutely be back!

I have been skiing my whole life and have had Crested Butte on my list to ski for some time. I am glad that I finally made my way over here to ski their slopes. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is owned and operated by Vail Resorts. My buddy and I have Epic Passes and chose to ski here this past winter. This resort is geared toward intermediate to expert skiers as there are lots of blue and black runs. Overall, we had good snow and a fun weekend. We started our day off by taking Red Lady Express Lift from Base Area. We spent a lot of our time hitting the intermediate runs off of Paradise Express Lift. We eventually hit some black runs off of Silver Queen Express Lift. We didn't do it, but Rambo run is the steepest tree-defined ski trail in North America with a 55-degree pitch. That run looks insane. Crested Butte Mountain Resort opened in 1960. We stayed in town near the base of the resort and had a lot of fun. We were able to walk to the lift from our hotel. Crested Butte is a former coal mining town that is a popular tourist destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Mount Crested Butte is in the heart of the Elk Mountains and sits over 9,000 feet above sea level. The town is named after its iconic 12,168-foot mountain peak. You can see the peak while you ski from almost anywhere on the mountain.

Crested Butte Resort is an awesome skiing destination. It is set up well and relatively easy to…read morenavigate around the entire resort from the Front Side (the Base Camp area) to the lifts/terrain on the back side (Paradise Express, East River, Teocalli) as well as the Ten Peaks area! Approximately 40% of skiing trails are marked as Double Black Diamond Extreme, so if you're looking for the most challenging terrain, then this is the place for you! But even if you're not an "advanced expert," then there are still plenty of runs that you can take it easy on... or that will push you to keep on learning and getting better! Of all the Vail Resorts, I feel like the Crested Butte team was the friendliest and most welcoming. Definitely try to plan your trip to Crested Butte for when they're getting some fresh powder, as most of the runs will be even more enjoyable! *****FIVE STARS*****
