Jay Frank at Crestline is an excellent DJ; he was recommended by our photographer. We shopped around and found him to be the most professional and found that we were most confident with his services for our May 2011 wedding. Jay was the only DJ to actually demonstrate his equipment and play some sample music, as well as demonstrate the lighting and other special effects that would be used at our wedding reception so that we would have a first hand account of what we would be getting. He also taught us the difference between what a good and bad DJ is to help make an educated decision. Jay showed some videos that weren't embellished to demonstrate his work at an actual reception, as well as seeing some handwritten testimonials with some genuine feedback and stories. Jay has a friendly demeanor to compliment his professionalism and after meeting with him you could definitely tell that he is passionate about his work and that he loves music, as well as having a strong desire to provide great customer service with an acute awareness that for a day of great magnitude and joy like a wedding, requires a a strong and reliable performance. My wife felt at ease with choosing Jay and we could confidently check off one of the big bullet points for planning the wedding, which as all brides know, getting peace of mind and confidence in vendors is important so energy can go towards the rest of the planning process. Jay was always easy to reach by email or phone and he follows up and checks in to make sure that everything is going smoothly. He also has a projector, laptop, screen, DVD player setup for sideshows that we used with good results. Crestline also provides a website to plan your reception schedule and music selection, which in turn helps you plan your overall reception. Jay was flexible with last minute changes and was attentive to our needs and concerns before and during the reception. Jay was there early as discussed to setup and test equipment and looked professional both in execution and attire. The music sounded great and he will be as interactive with your guests per your discretion; our guests were dancing all night and he made it a night to remember; he will even go out on the dance floor to lead things like electric slide if need be. Having a great DJ for your reception is key, he was our master of ceremonies and coordinator (microphones for speeches, music for dinner, entrance music, etc) and is a huge component of the entertainment of the night, Jay did all of this admirably. Simply put, Jay is awesome. We started wedding planning far before our date. We contacted Jay about DJ services after meeting him at our venue's open house. He offered to meet us at a coffee shop near our apartment in the city to talk about Crestline's services. His presentation impressed us: He showed videos of how he and his other DJs handle a reception, he showed us how he DJs receptions based on how much DJ involvement is necessary to get the party going, he walked us through the song request system, and he discussed how the flow of the day would go based on the venue (with which he was familiar) and our needs for the night. His contact throughout the process was always prompt, cordial, and helpful, leading right up to the day before the wedding. The day of the wedding, he was set up even before the wedding party arrived at the venue, and the sound equipment was dead on for the trio we had playing during the ceremony. During the cocktail hour he was able to transfer his setup to the reception area on time and without intrusion, but was always nonetheless available if we had a question the night of. The thing that impressed us the most was how he made the reception personalized as he went. Our wedding guests came from the South, the Northeast, and Chicago, a fact that Jay wouldn't have known until the groom's godfather's speech at the end of the cocktail hour. Despite being busy in finishing his setup, Jay was attentive enough to hear this and later in the night addressed everyone's home with different songs for them. This was a little touch that the guests loved and really, really, impressed us as clients. OMGosh was DJay Frank awesome!!!!!! He, by far, was one of our MOST FAVORITE vendors!!!! His wedding web site was very user friendly and allowed us the opportunity to choose our songs and stay organized! His professionalism and expertise blew us away! From his prompt communication to his incredible attention to details, he ensured that our dance floor was always packed!!! We provided him with a list of songs that our guests requested ahead of time and, with his suggestion, also made sure he had enough extra time to use his discretion of what to play based on the dance floor! Jay Frank was our DJ at our Nov 5 wedding & he was fantastic! Jay was our DJ for our wedding on October 29th, 2011. Jay was an incredible DJ to work with and gave us the most spectacular wedding. He went above and beyond his role of DJ to ensure that we had everything we wanted and that everything was exactly what we had expected. Jay even came to our house during the week before our wedding to pick up our iPod so that he could play the playlist we had created for the cocktail hour and dinner. Jay did an incredible job playing music for the ceremony and did an even more incredible job during the reception. Our guests all commented that they had more fun at our wedding than they did at any other wedding they had attended and this is mostly due to Jay and his work. Jay was our DJ and his assistant was Jeff. I can say with all honesty we had a great time with them. They were funny and helped really keep the night flowing. DJ Dan knows just the right way to play the music and keep the dance floor full without the cheesy DJ personality. Dan deejayed our wedding and we heard nothing but compliments about the great music he played. He was very attentive, professional, and looked proper for the occasion. This is a company that knows what they're doing. I was skeptical about DJs... They are all really expensive and what's the real difference anyways? I am so glad we decided to go with Crestline for our wedding January 12, 2013. We consulted with Jay but decided to hire Dan (The cost difference was the determining factor - Jay was more expensive). I don't regret that decision at all. Dan was extremely professional and friendly. He understood our requests perfectly (I hate rap/techno music and love oldies). We also knew that by the end of the night our guests would want more dance music so Dan changed it up. He played a few songs that I don't know all that well but that my guests who were dancing absolutely LOVED. Hello...Jay was the DJ at our Wedding this past Saturday, July 6tth/13 and we had a great experience and would highly recomend him. His pre-wedding song lists make song choosing easy and he is always available to talk through any questions or last minute changes that inevitably come up. He is Professional and interacted with the event management team and all our Guest perfectly. As someone else noted, he was not afraid to politely speak up if he thought there might be a better song, or song placement that what we had come up with and he was right on with his decisions.
