Awesome meat store! My wife and I buy 1/4 side if beef every year and keeps us well fed for an entire year. 50 lbs of very high quality ground beef and porterhouse, t-bone and sirloin steaks aplenty. Round Roasts also , top and bottom. The prices are much less than grocery stores and the quality is all around better than any grocery store. Buy a few pounds of bacon while your there also. The thick cut is incredible. Spoiled rotten at how good it is. In a pinch one year,bought grocery store bacon and was beyond disappointed. We absolutely love it here. The establishment is super clean, the meat is the best quality and the prices are very reasonable. I love that they have a great assortment (various cuts of beef, deli meats, eggs, milk, frozen seafood, prepared foods, jams). Sometimes the line can be a bit long but we've planned to go right when they open and haven't had an issue. For those saying the workers are rude - I have never had a bad experience - but get over it...they're doing their best to get people in and out during their busy, peak times. read more

I have recently moved back to Jefferson County. I heard about this place from my Dad, that was 4 months ago. Depending when you go, the line is usually about 5 to 8 minutes. Never had bad service. The ladies behind the counter always helpful. The meat is outstanding. No complains from me. Now I have read the comments. And few have issues with the meat quality. Unless you get the product straight from the farm that doesn't use additives. The quality of the meats is higher. The mass producers use additives to add more fat to the animal. Which adds weight with fat and jacks up the cost. Their is nothing they can do if they get low on a product and have to source elsewhere. Their prices are set by the daily market. They have to make money to stay open. Which is something I'll never have an issue with. Crestview Meat Market, keep up the great work. You have a long standing customer! As far as quality of meat, the meat from Crestview is impeccable. The steak, chicken, and pot roash I purchased was awesome. But some of the employees at this store was extremely rude. One of the employees, Ms. Dillard, was very unprofessional and rude. When I asked for one of the steaks to be packaged separately, she rolled her eyes and preceded to have an attitude. And I asked very nicely could she do that for us. I was extremely disappointed by the rude service we received the day we visited Crestview. I don't know if I'm going to visit this location again. They lost a customer before they even gained one. It's a shame that the quality of the customer service doesn't match the quality of the meat from this store. Had the customer service been good, this would have been a five star review. read more

A WV Panhandle treasure of a specialty meat market; lots of selections and cuts, but don't hesitate to ask for your precise trim or preparation. Service is outstanding and the staff will have it out in no time. Meat case focuses on beef, pork and chicken with occasional specials like fresh turkeys (by reservation only) around Thanksgiving. The quality is excellent. The shop appears small and tidy inside and includes a large butcher room and multiple cold/freezer rooms that hold what you might not see in the case. Prices change frequently and are always equal to or better than area grocers. There's an updated printout of products and prices on the counter to read or take with you. For the most part the meat is fresh and always a fair price. Sometimes they'll throw something in your order that's of different quality and it's disappointing. For example last week I got a few lbs of cheese from their deli and 2 days later all edges and corners were molded. Idk if the blade wasn't dried properly but it was a terribly expensive waste. Also. Imagine the exact opposite thing and that would describe the burger at Crestview. Ground fresh and prolly 75/25. But if you wanted low fat eat chicken. I needed a pork butt for pulled pork. I called and gave the specs. 15 mins later I had what I was looking for. They have free range chicken. It's pricey but......eat less, better.....right? There are lunch meats. We've been here a few times since it opened about two months ago and it is absolutely the best meat market in the area. They have custom cut meats (beef, pork), and poultry. They also have organic products. Their sliced deli meats are top shelf. Their price per pound beats even Wal-Mart and the other chain groceries in the area. These are the best quality products we have found in the Eastern Panhandle. We plan to go a bit out of our way to shop here once a week and get all our meat, poultry, and deli products. They also have free range chicken eggs for $3/dz. They even order the 40# boxes of chicken necks for us that we get for our dogs and they have the best price on that we have found from Hagerstown, MD to Winchester, VA, so we'll be getting that once every two weeks. Other customers we have encountered have placed special orders over the phone and were there to pick up. So don't hesitate to ask...they are very friendly and happy to accommodate. It shouldn't matter that this is a Mennonite owned-and-operated business, but for us, it matters in a favorable way. read more

The only place to get your meat in our area. Prices are so much better than the grocery stores. And way more fresh (especially compared to the Food Lion in Shepherdstown). The staff is friendly and helpful. You can order special cuts ahead of time if you like or just head in to see what is ready for you. We purchase our eggs ($3 per dozen), milk ($4.25 per gallon), and all out meat (except ground turkey as they usually do not have it in stock). The deli meat is delicious and way cheaper than the 'nice' stuff at the supermarket (like 4.99 per pound for deli turkey). Treat your taste buds to the fresh meats that actually have flavor at Crestview Market. Their bacon (cured is $4.99 for 10-12 thick slices) is to die for. Due to its meatiness, it does NOT shrink when you fry it, and is so baconlicious. Their loose sausage with sage is a must-buy at $2.99/lb. Now I am normally NOT a sausage-loving person, but this is incredible. Form it into patties and then sauté it. It is so low in fat that I almost add to add some PAM. We have also thoroughly enjoyed their steaks, pork chops, ham steaks, chicken and off-the-bone ham lunch meat, which tastes like the ham just came out of the oven. The ground chuck makes utterly fantastic burgers We are such fans of this butcher shop that we worked with one of the young men there to create a large order where we chose our beef, pork and chicken-the thickness, type of cut, i.e. T-Bones, rib-eyes, round, sirloin, ground chuck or beef, chops, sage sausage,boneless chicken breasts, etc. I have been looking for a stand alone butcher shop with reasonable prices but quality meats for my 30 years in northern Virginia. Never did I think that we would find one tucked away on the outskirts of Shepherdstown shortly after our move to scenic and serene WV, but I am so thrilled that we did. We thought we would try their meat, wanted nice frest ground beef but was very disappointed, was not able to eat it, had a different smell and was very light in color and had a strange taste.
