Sandwich was really good. I got the special for today (Whitacre's Orchard (Turkey breast, sliced apples, cheddar cheese & bacon with Shawnee's Smoky Chipotle Mustard on toasted sourdough.)). The only weird thing was that they randomly closed the deli right after I ordered. It was 12:50 on a Sunday. Not sure if that normally happens. Also it is kind of connected to the Shell. Such a unique place with mostly really great people working there. Apple pie is best we ever had and bagels really tasty. We moved to the area about 2 months ago and have been there probably a dozen times ... they have a separate, wonderful grocery store which is quite unique. And they have a competitively priced Shell gas station. Visiting there is like stepping back in time! read more

The good: Friendly people and a nice selection of fresh produce. The bad: The prices and the food. Both times now that my mom and I have stopped in here she's had to throw her meal away. First time was some sort of apple fritter that wasn't baked all the way and was doughy. Today she asked for a plain egg sandwich. Just an egg on bread. She took one bite and spit it out, I've never seen so much pepper on a sandwich! Yuck! We are so tired of spending money on food that ends up in the trash. We might stop in and occasionally buy produce but we won't be ordering food here again. read more

This is an authentic country store! I feel like I'm walking back in time. This place has fresh fruits and vegetables that look wonderful! The store is clean to the max!! Severely understaffed today. Stood at the bakery counter for 5 minutes, and wwhen a staffer finally appeared to take my order he proceeded to tell me that I should have found someone to take my order for me. Then proceeded to argue with me in the store when I told him there was a huge line in front of the cashier. Prices are great. Food is very good. Excellent location! My review is in regards to the 2 employees that were working tonight (Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 6:30 pm in the food court area. First of all... they need to be retrained STAT! Customers came in asking to have some assistance with a propane tank, and the man behind the register told him that he cannot help him because his manager was outside, taking out the trash, and he could not leave the register. The customer was disappointed and got in his car and left. The right thing to do would have been to say hold tight. My manager will be back to help. We ordered a sandwich and it was icy cold We had just been there last week and it was warm and toasted and I explained this to the young man making the sandwiches. He said, and I quote " Well, I wasn't working a couple of days ago." Customers around us laughed. After explaining to him what we wanted, he seemed exhausted with us , huffed and went back to form the sandwich up The man at the register replied " we'll Get it all taken care of for ya ! In a loud condescending voice! My husband replied back, " And we appreciate that!" The whole experience was disappointing. All in all, my sandwich was eaten. Prices are still great. This review is for the Senseny Road location. Friendly and helpful staff, but unfortunately the sandwiches are a big disappointment. I ordered a simple egg & cheese toasted sandwich and it had a strange greasy taste. I'm not sure if it's just old oil they were using, or something else, but it wasn't good. Winchester really needs a restaurant that puts some love into their cooking! While I've never understood a farm market charging more than double than a grocery store for the same product, this one isn't bad at all. I'll happily pay more for the experience of a location. I grow a ton of my own produce, but sometimes, I just want the convenience of someone else doing the job. Today, I only needed an onion, so that's what I bought from the "farm side." Although, I did walk up and down each aisle, just browsing their selection of canned goods. The non- edible items on this side, are incredibly overpriced, in my opinion. A wind chime that caught my eye was $170. It was nice, but definitely not $170, nice. The other side: gas station, bakery, diner? I don't know, but I love it! The BLT is fantastic, the pies are crumbly and gooey, the prices aren't bad, and most of the interactions with employees are positive. It's definitely a place to check out. My family was just passing through the area and randomly stopped here for a soda. Once we laid eyes on the deli counter, we quickly decided we would order a sandwich for the road. The baker was working the counter and was so delightful. Everyone needs to know that the Chicken Salad Fat Boy was amazing!!! Can I just say what a PERFECT hidden gem this is?! First of all, every single employee was the absolute kindest and had genuine smiles. The smell of the baked goods side was enough to make me want to live there... He got a pulled pork sandwich, and I got a turkey/cheddar/apple on wheat- both sandwiches were delicious! On top of that, they offer four of their signature homemade hot sauces (I personally recommend the Peach one) that you can sample/pour all over your food at each of their tables. Browse the baked goods- pies, oh my the pies! Next door is a farmers style market with some of the freshest looking produce and a full spread of salsas, jams, ciders, hot sauces, and jarred pickled goodies... all homemade! What a great find! We have stopped here for gas a few times but I just went inside the store for the first time today. There is a darling gift shop inside with small, seasonal decor and other items. I bought the cutest little chicken salt & pepper set! The lady working the gift shop could not have been sweeter. The market was wonderful too. When you first open the door it smells like bakery heaven! They have a lovely assortment of beautiful pies and pastries, plus some fresh produce, and a deli. I was happily surprised to find that they even had a vegetarian sandwich. I think it was called Chickpea of the Sea... basically mock tuna... and it was delicious!! Took my parents for a drive to Shawnee market. We absolutely love their jams, specifically the F.R.O.G jam. My family visits me from CA and usually but a case or two to take back home. We thought we'd been to every farm market in the Winchester area, but we missed this one -- and it's the best! Our neighbors mentioned it so we looked it up and went for lunch. Possibly the best BLT of a lifetime -- bacon cooked to order. There is seating (3 long tables indoors) and the fresh produce is, at this point, at least partially brought in from the south so they had terrific big cantelopes -- not those bowling balls the grocery stores offer -- and gorgeous corn and zucchini. They also have a baffling array of beers (hundreds), lots of canned goods, and brands of chips and snacks I'd never seen. They also carry local Garber's ice cream, a rarity. Our neighbors turned us on to this place for their epic craft beer selection, I was impressed by having a place with farm fresh fruits and veggies on my side of town. They have local dairy, fresh baked goods, local meats, wine, and other odds and ends. Today i got a watermelon that was actually ripe, peaches, and snaking cucumbers that i plan to use for pickling. When I was being rung up, the woman and gentleman working there were super nice and we had a little conversation. What we were expecting to be a simple convenience store, has any and everything you could need.
