I called Milstead around 6:20 pm because the online portal did not show that the status of my service had been updated to show that the tow truck was in route or that the truck had already picked up my vehicle. I was told by a Milstead employee that their drivers were behind because of traffic and could not arrive before 7 pm. This was going to be a problem because the business my vehicle was at closed at 7 pm. The employee said that she could reschedule my service for 8 am the next day and I agreed to that. For the original service request, I spoke to a Milstead employee at 4:24 pm to confirm that they had received my request and it was confirmed. No one from Milstead contacted me to say that they were not going to be able to adhere to their arrival time. The next day, I called Milstead around 8:15 am to see if my car had been picked up and the employee said that my service had been set for 10-11 am and could not be moved to a sooner time. I let the employee know about my situation from the previous day and she said there was no documentation that my tow service was rescheduled for 8 am that day. I canceled my service with Milstead because they pushed back their arrival time twice without updating me that they would be doing so.

$7,000 diagnosis turned out to be a $10 gasket…read more On July 7, 2026, I took my 1989 Jaguar to Rusty's Garage because of a fuel leak. They charged me $315 for a diagnosis and told me the steel fuel tank had rusted through and was leaking fuel into the cargo area. They recommended replacing the fuel tank, hoses and lines, fuel filter, and sending unit at an estimated cost of approximately $7,000. I was skeptical because the fuel pump had recently been replaced, so I took the car to another garage for a second opinion. They found that the leak was coming from the fuel-tank sending-unit gasket...a $10 part. They replaced the gasket, and the leak stopped. They also determined that the fuel tank was not rusted out and the fuel pump was fine. I returned to Rusty's and requested a refund of the $315 diagnostic charge because their diagnosis was incorrect and could have led me to spend thousands of dollars on unnecessary repairs. They refused. I have taken other vehicles to Rusty's in the past. Their customer service has always been very good, but I have previously questioned some of the work they recommended and the prices they charged. After this experience, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any major repair here.

I started going here after some terrible experiences with my mechanic of several years, and E1 has…read moreconsistently been great to work with. I decided to give them a shot after such an incredible experience getting my windows tinted at their other shop. I am car illiterate and they're super patient with me. They've caught and thoroughly explained improper past fixes and what kinds of issues I have. They are proactive in communication, are friendly, and the ability to get an uber ride to and from the shop on their dime is incredible. They've also given me a loaner to use when they've had my car for extended periods. My last shop (European Service Center ) felt like I was picking up a part time job just to get any communication and my car would sometimes be there days on end without getting worked on. I feel like E1 is super respectful of my time, cares about my business, is very professional, and keeps me informed without me asking- it's so refreshing and appreciated. They are not the cheapest but also not wildly expensive either; their pricing is on par with my last shop and things are actually done right. I recognize that things don't always go perfectly and care a lot about how a company reacts to makes things right. I had a slight issue with my struts repair after about 9 months after the fix and they stood behind their work no problem and fixed it promptly (they have a 3 year warranty on work done). Just a great business.

These folks are absolutely amazing! I live in Austin but we had an accident in Houston. When I had to make a separate trip to Houston because I couldn't get my vehicle released without being present, I thought it would be a simple task to drive down and take care of it. When I arrived to North Freeway Auto Storage and Sales on HWY 59 I was treated so horribly by the lady behind the counter that I literally had to go outside and get a police officer to come inside to help with communicating in a civil manner. I had never been treated so badly in my life by a place of business. When I called CRI they were so friendly and immediately have me reassurance that this was going to be a smooth process from that point forward. They easily worked with my schedule, towed my vehicle to their lot and refused to charge me a storage fee during the insurance process. Their quotes on repairs were beyond fair and their friendly service was over the top. I can't express enough how grateful I am and how pleasant it was working with this company!! I was broken down on the side of I45 and 99. My wheel had broken off the hub and I didn't know what to do. The owner, Lester, was on his way to the shop and stopped to help me. The transmission on my truck went out, my insurance company set me up with lighting tow, but the only accepted cash and wanted $8 a mile over.... told my insurance company to send someone accepting debit cards, they sent CRI. Guardian Angel Roadside Assistance

Due to recent flooding that has happened in Houston, my car stopped moving was caught in the high…read morewaters. I thought I could wait it out for a while, but the rain only got heavier & water started to rise. I called a towing company to come help me, and the driver said he would be there in 15 minutes. After 20 minutes I saw my tow truck driver pass by me in the heavy rain, I rolled down my windows and waved at them. My driver instead chose to ignore me and continued to drive off & then started to reject my phone calls. It was probably due to the fact that my car was almost submerged in water & the driver just didn't want to deal with being in heavy rain & deep water. Another tow truck passed by me as I waved and asked for help, no one wanted to pull my car out. Water was leaking into my car, I honestly thought I'd have to leave my car. I Googled towing companies in my area & the first to pop up was Guardian Angel Roadside Assistance. The driver told me he would be there within 30 minutes, to be honest I didn't think they would come I had at least 2-3 inches of water inside my car & the last towing company flaked out on me. At this point I was crouching uncomfortably on my car seat to avoid the water. I'm 6ft tall so my neck was killing me. Guardian Angel Roadside Assistance came as soon as they could, he got out on the heavy rain & high waters to secured my car. I honestly was saved as cheesy as that sounds, no pun intended with the company name either but I felt so relieved that they actually came. Kris took me back to my house, had me sign paperwork and was even kind enough to park at a gas station beforehand so I could retrieve anything else I needed from my car without getting wet. Hopefully I don't ever have to get my car towed anytime soon, but definitely would call this company if they were in my area. Thank you so much guys! I was unfortunate to lose the air conditioner in my Truck while traveling through Houston with a 40 foot trailer accompanied by my wife and two small boys. I checked into an RV park near Oak Ridge Car Clinic's location and the were recommended by my neighbor in the park. I am on deadline to travel to Amarillo, and needed my truck fixed ASAP. I called them on a Friday and said I needed to be back on the road Tuesday, could they help. I spoke with the Father who told me to come for a diagnosis. He said I needed a new compressor and belt, they were shot. He said if he could get the parts he could get it done on Monday. He claimed that he spent Friday afternoon and Saturday morning searching for the parts and they simply weren't available in Houston. He said a friend of his that works for Ford told him that in a dire emergency they would come up with the parts to get the job done. I went to Ford on Saturday, and they told me they didn't have a service slot available until Wednesday or Thursday but they would be glad to sell me the parts. They had two in stock. So I bought the parts. I called Oak Ridge Car Clinic Monday morning, and the son answered. Said his Dad was on vacation for a week, he was all alone and had 4 cars in front of me before he could work on my truck. Then he got nasty. He said it was first come first served, and he couldn't promise me anything about getting the job done by my deadline. I asked why his dad told me that he could do it if he could get the parts, and he said, "well he knew he couldn't get the parts." So he was stringing me along and had no intention of taking the job and didn't want to tell me that. I called their competitor, next door, and they said come on over, we'll take care of you. This was a very bad business practice.

My vehicle was there for over 4 months with very poor communication from shop manager and owner. Finally got the truck back only for it to break down not even an hour later. We had to call to get it towed back to the shop. The mechanic admittedly didn't tighten the distributor cap, which lead to the timing being messed up. Also, the fuel line was installed twisted and wouldn't allow gas to flow properly. These things were fixed after 2 weeks of the truck sitting at the shop. We've had the truck back about 2 weeks and now the fuel pump went out. The new fuel pump that they just installed!!!! The manager also admitted to one of his mechanics burning up the first distributor, this was his excuse for it taking so long in the first place. $4,000 later and the truck is not running. I would not recommend this place at all!!
