After reading all the great reviews on yelp and google about this lawyer, I thought I had found the best to help me with my case, I was wrong big time. I am not sure why I got the short end of a stick for paying a private counsel for service worse than a public defender also got a completely different person in contrast to his mostly 5 star yelp reviews. PLEASE DO NOT hire this guy if you ever need a criminal defense lawyer. Lack any kind of commitment after you paid him and always give you this condescending attitude like if you are bothering him or don't waste his valuable time when you contact him for your case. Arrived at my arraignment late and unprepared, did not even know what's going on in my case nor try to do the things that he said he would do. On the second court date he didn't even inform me I don't have to be present because he was only going ask the judge to delay my court date by sending one of his employees to the court to do it, so I wasted whole morning waiting outside of the courtroom for nothing. For the remaining time I work with him, I had to keep repeating and reminding details about my case to him almost every time I talked to him because he still have no clue what's going on with my case, so pretty much my case is at the very bottom of his priority list and clearly, he was only willing to put in minimum effort into my case if possible. Fast-forward 10 months after I hired him with my case purposely delayed according to him, it's the best strategy for my case, he finally tried to bully me by telling me I got a very hostile prosecutor who has all available evidences against me blah blah blah and the best he can do is blah blah blah so the best option for me is to fold my card then he appeared agitated when I told him no. At this point, I felt like I had hired a public defender who tried to convince me into plea guilty instead of fighting for my case, so I knew it's time to get a second opinion. Thank god I fired him instead of cave in to his bs, I wished I had done it much sooner. Got myself a new lawyer who took over and worked with the "hostile" prosecutor and resolved my case within 3 weeks, what a joke. (I later found out the so-call "hostile" prosecutor had requested some important documents 6 months ago but never received them. I had already provided all necessary documents to my lawyer and he failed to provide them to the prosecutor which led to the prosecutor believing that we were not being corporative. Also, he did not try to negotiate with the prosecutor for a plea even once during the 10 months into my case which I still do not understand why.) Zero star for Steve on how he handled my case and wasted my time and money. The one star is for his staff in the office, they were professional. read more

In 2007 I pleaded no contest to Penal Code 487 (a) and Penal Code 459. I served 2 years concurrently in state prison. After I got out of prison I completely turned my life around.
