My second visit was today. Kelsey was our server and was very sweet and efficient. This place is adorable inside. I had a hot chai latte, which warmed me up nicely. To eat, I had the half sized BLT on naan, and my guest had the half sized blackberry bacon grilled cheese. Both were served with kettle chips and a pickle. I loved my sandwich - the naan was warm, bacon was crispy, greens were fresh, and garlic mayo topped it off. My guest also loved their sandwich. It was loaded with juicy blackberry jam, crisp bacon, and cheeses. Best way to describe this place is cozy! It literally must have been someone's house now turned into a cafe and coffee shop. Signage is quite small and unremarkable on the front side of the building and there is no parking on the Main Street. So if you want to go, you need to find the back alley and park in one of the 4 or 5 spots available in the back. As you enter through the back door (I think it's the only entrance) you will be in what must have been the small room where the owners hung their coats. Next you enter a snug area where you order and pay. There are two rooms where you can sit down and enjoy your food or beverage. These rooms must have been the family room and dinning rooms from the past. If it's a nice day, there 5 or 6 umbrellaed tables outside. I picked up a to go order right about noon and they where pretty busy. However, they seemed to handle everything pretty well. Food was all great. Everything was well made, fresh a f tasty! If you are a visitor (like me) I would highly recommend finding this place. It is a great option over bar food or some type of chain place. read more

I really want to patronize and like this kind of place. It's obviously locally owned and operated. They use fresh ingredients and the quality is good. However, the service for my visit was terrible. I got a carry out order at 1:30 PM, and the person who took my order told me it would be 15 minutes, so I left and came back. When I came back. I told staff that I was waiting for the order as I stood by the cash register area for about 20 minutes. As I was about to ask for an update on my order, which had now taken almost 40 minutes, one of the staff people went behind the counter, and found my order, which had just been sitting there for some unknown period of time. I had an order of one of their specialties, tikka masala with chicken. The food was good, but the portion size was very disappointing. There was about 2 cups of chicken and vegetables in sauce, with about half a cup of cooked rice. For $16, that is not a good deal in my opinion. I don't want to be all old and crotchety, but even without the chicken that dish is still $14 and the vegetable ingredients and sauce don't cost more than maybe $2-$3 in terms of direct cost. I want to support these local places, but they have to step up their game. The value just isn't there and the service was bad. Won't be returning and would not recommend. read more

Popped in here for a quick lunch. The service was somewhat slow for a sandwich and salad place, but they appeared to be short-staffed. That said, they were very friendly, drinks and food were reasonably-priced and delicious. Very fresh and satisfying. It's very easy to miss your turn off of Lincoln Street to get to Crimson. Parking is also an issue because of its location, but what they lack in these areas they definitely make up for in atmosphere. Inside, you can find a few boutique style items for purchase as well as a coffee bar and food menu. There's some indoor seating, but it fills up very quickly. Outisde, there's a bunch of patio like seating with tables, and several flower bushes. The atmosphere and photo opportunities here are pretty unbeatable. The menu is very inclusive of most dietary restrictions and has many options. It is a cafe, so expect a lot of salads, paninis, etc. Drink wise, they have coffee and smoothies, but my personal favorite is the lemonade! Crimson is a great place for a fun and relaxing lunch date, or just to catch up with your friends. Just make sure to pay attention to where you're turning to get there! read more

We stopped here on a slow Saturday afternoon to begin exploring our new surroundings. Parking is rough but luckily there were only a few people there so we could park in the back. Cute and cozy, the small shop is covered in local art for sale. The atmosphere is very homey, and it smells like fresh coffee. We started off with a iced caramel latte and a strawberry kiwi Italian soda. The coffee was nice and strong while the italian soda was light and sweet. The perfect summer beverage. For lunch we ordered a chipotle turkey panini and a grilled cheese panini. Thankfully there were three of us sharing the food because the paninis were huge! Love the new place, its gorgeous. I was there just before noon on a sunday, the food I ordered as take out, was ready when I got there. The food tasted great, I had the BLT bowl, salad with added chicken and avocado. My only complaint would be that the added chicken and avocado, bacon on the salad was very light, with the price I paid for the added ingredients ( nearly 11.00 total), should be more generous. In addition I had a smoothie bowl, and the fruit added ( blue berries and strawberry ) could have been more generous ( only one strawberry and literally 8 blueberries, the price is alot for that amount of fruit. Tiny sprinkle of coconut on top. Also it was not blended well, had ice chunks in it making it watery. I will go back, the menu looks very good, but try to be more generous on the added ingredients for the price. It is a treat to eat out now, as I know everything is more expensive. I have been to the Crimson Cafe a couple times now, and it has been a good option for when I travel over to Rhinelander for shopping. There aren't very many cool places in town to eat, and this one certainly fills the bill for cool! I am very happy that there are some vegetarian options, I have had the veggie panini and today I had the hummus and red pepper wrap. It is a pretty small menu, but the food they serve is super fresh and tasty. I had the iced mocha, and it was perfectly garnished with whip and chocolate drizzle! We sat outside in their little courtyard in the back and it was a delightful experience. The inside is a series of small rooms where you will find the gift shop and the indoor restaurant seating. I had an excellent meal and very good service. I very much enjoyed the Crimson Cafe again! read more

Whoooooaaakay. This place is great. All the crafty art for sale is a little obnoxious, but the food was great. The soup we had was UNREAL. I've never had life changing soup.. this was life changing!
