I used to go to them because they are fast and cheap! They always shape my nails perfectly and always help carry my things over when my nails are drying. However, they don't talk AT ALL. They talk to other employees and it's so hard to have a conversation with them. I was here two days ago and they rushed a little girl that was with me to the seat (we were the only two there minus a manicure) and then they were just really rushing her process and I'm not sure why. This was my first experience at Crimson Nails, and overall I was definitely satisfied. My tech really did an awesome job on my nails, I got the dipping powder and she took great care/attention to detail. However, the place is pretty small and the people aren't overly friendly (not rude though). I'd say if you're looking for an awesome nail salon "experience" this might not be the place, but they do a good job with their services and you won't go home disappointed with how your nails look. I am, admittedly, very picky about my nails. I have a hard time paying to have my nails done at places where I leave knowing I could have done a better job. That is not the case hree. Mae and Saun are wonderful and do a great job! I get a gel manicure every 2-3 weeks, depending on my work schedule, and my manicure always lasts until I make it back in there - they know what to do to get it to stay on. I love this place and have been coming here for a few years now. I can't speak to pedicures because I don't know that I've ever had one here, but I have no doubt that they do as wonderful of a job on those and they do on their manicures! read more

This is my favorite nail salon in town. I've had 1 "okay" manicure from them in the past 6 months, with everything else being "excellent.' The guy with glasses does the best job. They take appts but its hard to get an answer when you call. There have been 2 times I've waited for an hour and then left because they were so busy. Most of the time, its a short wait when I walk in. Even with the waiting, its better service than the place on the square, and as good as Maisunami's without the need for an appt. FYI- remember to add tip before they swipe your card! You can't add it afterwards. read more

Still going to Crimson nails for Gel Polish Manicures (shellac) it still lasts approx 4-5 weeks stays in perfect condition without chipping! I love it.. Quinn is no longer there so I now go to KIM or the female owner ..it is such a relaxing place to go without all the noise and commotions and yelling etc that is going on in many salons you go to. It is one of the cleanest salons I've been to also. I totally would recommend. read more

I got a dip manicure done here 3 days ago, and 3 nails have already chipped. I have had dip manicures from other places last a full month, and I am very disappointed to say the least. The top coat is uneven and my nails don't look very shiny or healthy. The nail polish doesn't fill the whole nail, and the shape is not what I asked for at all. Objectively, my nails don't look very good, and I am disappointed that I had to pay for an awful manicure. All of that aside, it wasn't very expensive (compared to other places), it seemed relatively clean, and I was seated right away. Do NOT bother making an appointment at this salon. I've never had issues at any other salons except this place. I called for an appointment this past Monday so me and three of my friends could get our nails done Friday. They gave us an appointment for 2pm, and we show up right on time and are immediately told none of our names our on the list WHEN IN FACT, THE LADY ON THE PHONE ASKED FOR OUR NAMES AND PHONE NUMBER. They were being so rude and did not let me finish explaining myself. I even pulled up the call log from my phone to let them know it was their business I called and they just did not care at all. The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER AND I WILL NOT COME BACK and do not recommend this place at all. Also, if this builds any credibility, I am Asian myself and an anti-Karen, but I just wanted to post this review because I've never experienced a more horrific thing. The team seems super nice, and even though they were dealing with some very impatient people (they were running a little late, but it was a ridiculously busy day), they kept their cool. When I walked in for my appointment, though, they told me they had me down for a completely different service than the one I had requested. My gel mani chipped after about 3 days instead of the promised 2 weeks. I initially wanted a dip mani, but the nail technician who worked on me looked over my nails and assessed that a dip mani probably wouldn't be good for them; they're pretty weak. I do appreciate that assessment; she was probably spot-on. Still, 3 days is pretty quick for a gel manicure to start falling apart, even for my nails. read more

My hands and feet take beating and these wonderful people act like I am a princess. They always take care and have met all expectations. I have been to several salons around bloomington and I have never had a bad experience here. There is not a problem understanding English and they are very expedient. The prices are reasonable and parking is easy. Wear sandals if you want a pedicure or if you forget they have cute little shoes. There is almost always a line to wait so plan ahead or call ahead. read more

This salon is by far my favorite. I've been coming here for about 2 years now, first for just pedicures and moving on to gel manicures, and I will continue to come here for as long as I can. I love the staff and feel like a part of their family. They do a great job of recognizing people, in addition to their great nail care. I would give this place 5 stars because they really do a good job. But the last time I came in I waited 2 1/2 hours and they didn't even acknowledge me, and tell me to come back at a better time. For the most part, I absolutely love Crimson Nails and Spa and it's my favorite nail salon in Bloomington. They are clean, reasonably priced, offer a student discount, and do a great job. I usually make an appointment, because it can get very busy. My only complaint is that last time I was in there, the owner (I think) turned away a woman with a service dog, I believe not understanding that service dogs are allowed, and are not simply pets. Many other customers tried to explain to her, but she was not understanding. It was uncomfortable. However, they do great work, and I will continue to go here. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. The staff is extremely rude. I was getting my nails done and the person who was doing my nails YELLED at me for putting my hands down when I didn't know I was supposed to. I don't get my nails done often and so I get nervous and crimson nails did NOT help my nail salon anxiety. In fact, they made it worse. They don't try to make any sort of connection with their customers. I recommend you skip going there and find a better salon ASAP. They lost mine and all my roommates business. I came here yesterday with my mom who is visiting from out of state. We were acknowledged very quickly after coming in and seated within 5 minutes of walking in/picking out colors. The salon that I usually go to was closed on Sunday and this place had the best reviews of the salons open on Sunday, so I went. I was really disappointed with my experience here. I wanted a fill-in on a set of relatively new and perfectly shaped acrylics. The gentleman who did my nails laid the acrylic powder on WAAAYYY too thick and unevenly in some places. I waited a couple of weeks for it to grow out thinking that it would make the removal process easier. I was wrong. It took 45 minutes of sanding, soaking in acetone, and careful peeling for the very patient and kind gentleman at T & T Nails (which I strongly recommend) to remove the acrylics. The acrylics were so thick that it was difficult to cut the nails with clippers. Even after sanding them down, the acrylics were easily 1/2 cm thick. I will not be back. read more

Came here based on the reviews. I called ahead to see if they had time for a pedicure, and they said yes, to come in, no wait. I was in the Target parking lot when I called. I walk in, and every chair is taken, with three more people waiting. Fine, I thought, I'm here so I will wait. They got me back to a chair. I am not exaggerating when I say I had my feet soaking for over 20 minutes before I was even looked at. I had to ask when I would be helped. I had to take my feet out of the water because they were so pruned. Then an older woman started to work with me, and was miserable the entire time. This is a new nail salon that opened in November near the Marsh on 3rd. It's your typical Asian nail salon, nothing fancy. I got a pedicure, which included nail/cuticle trimming, scrub, a pretty nice message, hot towels, and polish. The staff was very friendly and they did a good job - I definitely recommend it. They are also offering 20% off right now as a grand opening special and they gave me a free tube of lotion. This is by far the best salon I have been to in Bloomington. I have only had pedicures, so can't speak for their other services. I usually pick times early in the morning when they open, so have experienced no wait times, but I'm sure they get busy as the day goes on. The salon is so very clean and bright. Chairs are comfortable, typical massage style. While it's difficult to communicate with the staff, that doesn't really matter as they are very professional and give the best foot/leg massages that I've had here in town. I used to go to the place in the Mall, and the last couple times, felt I was being rushed so they could get on to the next patron. NEVER feel this way at Crimson. Highly recommend!!! read more
