My 400th review and for this special occasion I'm reviewing one of my favorite places on earth…read more This is the second largest college softball stadium on campus and for big games this place is rocking. Take the game in from the bleachers, seat back chairs, or bring your own chair and sit in the brickyard and catch a home run ball. There is nothing like the excitement of a Bama softball game. Find out when there are giveaways or days when the team comes for pictures and autographs. There is a real culture here for the players to appreciate the fans and especially for the players to encourage the next generation of softball players.

Rhoads Stadium, otherwise known as the Alabama Softball Complex, is truly one of the premier, if…read morenot THE premier college softball venues in the country. I've been to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City (for a Bama game, of course), and this place is right on par with it, despite not having quite the seating capacity. Bama regularly leads the country in attendance with this venue, and is easily one of the best in the country, when it comes to any softball facility, particularly an on-campus venue. The stadium has hosted many NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals, and played host to some big games. Seating is plenty, and there's honestly not a bad seat in the house. The arena is located conveniently on the UA campus, just off of Hwy 82, a few blocks from the men's baseball stadium. Much of the main seating area is covered by a really nice canopy as well. Oh, and it's the home of the NCAA Champion Crimson Tide (yes, the softball team wins titles as well!).

This gym has great equipment, and friendly staff. However, this place is highly unsanitary. My…read morefriends have gotten pink eye from working out here so please wear gloves or wash your hands. The equipment is not cleaned properly, partially due to the minimum wage paid employees, because I wouldn't clean it either with that pay. Look out on the barbells and dumbbells for caked on dead skin from countless people. I do not want to have dead skin transferred to my hands, especially the germs!!This gym would be a lot better if it was cleaned better!

I have a long and storied history with the UA recreation center. I remember many years ago, when I…read morewas a junior in high-school, seeing it on a tour. I thought it was very nice and could offer a lot. Going into my senior year, after over three years at this establishment, I still agree with those statements with a few caveats. First, three squat racks. Why? There are 40,000 people that go to school here. That is around 1 squat rack for every 13,000 students. That is a horrible ratio. I have waited in line for the squat racks for over 30 minutes before. That is time that I will never get back in my life. Fix it. Second, parking. This one is a little more specific but at the time of writing this review it is the summer. Why did I have to circle the parking lot 6 times to find a parking spot? During the summer, I look forward to the gym being empty. I am busy. I have a lot to do. It's just more wasting time trying to find a spot. A little heads up of the basketball tournament would have been nice. I'm glad that things are being hosted, but there are still patrons of the gym that want to workout. The parking situation isn't any better during the school year. Third, the strict no fun gym hours. Look, the hours here suck. Not just for the weight room, but for everything. The hours on the lap pool just down right don't make sense. There is a common issue with time. Time being wasted. Time = money so therefore money is being wasted. I value my time and this place is taking inconvenient amounts on it not for its primary purpose. Everything is like a YouTube ad. Like yeah you get to workout, but here is a 20 minute inconvenience for you beforehand. The equipment is nice though and it is better than paying for a Crunch membership. 7.5/10
