Probably the best cannoli I've ever had and I've had a LOT. The drinks were also made perfectly. The sweet potato fritter was so unique--what a great twist. Thank goodness they are like 25 minutes away from where I live!

We have been on a bit of a Dubai Chocolate kick this summer and a friend recommended that we visit Crisp Cannoli in East Greenbush. It's easy to find, and bigger inside than it appears from the outside. Everything in the display cases look like food art. The service was fast and friendly. The menu looks really good but we were there for one thing, The Dubai Persian which was utterly delicious, a light doughnut with pistachio cream filling and delicious creamy pistachio and crispy shredded kataifi on top. It's a good thing I do not live near this location or I might need an intervention because these are addictive.

Today lunch date with my 15 year We stopped by The Crisp Cannoli - Bakery & Cafe Of course he got himself a bacon egg and cheese on a toasted everything bagle (That's his go to sandwich) I got chicken salad on a toasted croissant. Which comes with a side macaroni salad and a bag of chips Got 2 hot chocolates to wash everything down And of course had to get some goodies to bring home for later. The goodies we picked out were a brownie, a sugar cookie and a french cannoli. ( i have no idea what that is but i plan on fonding out ) As always everything was delicious. Made hot and fresh. With tons of favors Whats your favorite thing on their menu ? So far i havent had a bad meal Everything is always I hope you all have a Friday

This is a very popular place especially for young families. It has an upbeat, decor, friendly staff. I believe this is my third visit here for breakfast. There's lots of choices on the menu and à la cart opportunities. I like the variety and the fresh hot meals. The tree is a bit small so if you'd like to have the equal distribution, you might ask for two pieces of chorizo so you have enough for each half. I enjoyed the pastrami however I think it was missing a little something maybe either a mayonnaise or mustard on the side silly thing, but there's no salt or pepper to be found. You have to ask for water to be delivered to your table so why not just have a pitcher of ice water for people to help themselves while waiting for their meal? There always seems to be a delay with the coffees so I would suggest getting a second barista. We ordered a very simple half caff large coffee with cream, which came after our sandwiches. If you like cream in your coffee as I do, always ask for extra. The portions are large so if you're inclined either split a meal or ask for half to go home. The pastries and cookies and cakes look amazing although I was never brain enough to indulge. Definitely would recommend and would return in the future. 2 breakfast sandwiches 1 large coffee$$20

My partially eaten ham and egg sandwich. It's photographed with a mocha latte and the holiday pastry list.

The food is definitely fresh at the Crisp Cannoli. Love the display counters filled with mouthwatering pastries including cupcakes, turnovers and of course, cannolis. The reason the cannolis stay crisp is that they're filled only after you've ordered them. My husband and I stood on line to place our breakfast order. It moved quickly. Fortunately, the restaurant wasn't overly crowded and both the staff and customers were very nice. The cappuccinos are great and the breakfast sandwiches are delish. I liked the old location, but a few years ago the business relocated to a newer and larger space. It's clean, modern and very inviting. You can't go wrong for breakfast or lunch, which is why the restaurant gets some top honors in the local newspapers readers polls.

The Crisp Cannoli is such a gem! The baker we met, Jason, and the rest of the staff put so much love into what they do. The coffee beans are freshly roasted and delivered, which makes all the difference. We loved the lunch we had here, and the fresh coffee and tasty desserts that followed!

    Beef on a Weck

Drove over from Scotia to give it a try since I heard they offer Beef on a Weck on Thursdays. The sandwich was on point! The bread they use is authentic and the roast beef had excellent flavor. My wife ordered a Cubano panini and she said it was very good as well. It's not a place that is near me but I definitely will go out of my way to patronize them again. If you are looking for cannolis or other types of sweets they offer a very large variety to fill that need as well.

Does every member of the staff have a stake in this business? That's how they act! I went on a Saturday morning for goodies for my fam and it was great! I was helped right away and given recommendations when I asked. The breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Yumm! My kids (wink wink) loved the donuts and pastries. I will definitely go back again soon!

The food is good (especially the fries) but the place is incredibly noisy. If weather permits, eat at an outside table.

I understand there's a bakery in Albany that makes a cannoli cake which bakery does that?

We are not in Albany but make Cannoli Cakes. You can call the shop and place an order for a cannoli cake. Thanks, Jason

I have earned and wear with pride my nickname of "The Tea Lady". I have taken Tea Ceremony classes in Tokyo Japan and have enjoyed afternoon tea service at 5 star properties from Manhattan (The Russian Tea Room) to Dacca in Bangladesh. I have enjoyed Tea at The Churchill Hotel in London, The Breakers Hotel under their hand painted ceiling and most recently I reveled in a cherry blossomed Tea Room in Edinburgh at the famous Palm Court of the Balmoral Hotel second only to the Palm Court at The Plaza in NYC. I say this only to provide context to what I am about to say concerning a tea spot in East Greenbush which until recently was one of my favorite upstate NY places to have Tea and escape for a few minutes from our bustling, noisy, distracting world. Just last week I invited a friend to come to tea and lunch with me since we had not seen each other in a very long time and she had had surgery a short time ago. I called Roots at 1PM and asked if their tea service could be ordered for one hour hence. I was told: "Oh no that takes 3 hours to prepare, sorry you can't order Tea now". So I settled on lunch and made an appt for 2PM. (they advertise that they are open until 3PM.) We arrived on the dot of 2, only to be reminded that they close down the kitchen at 2:30 so we should order pretty fast, in addition the kitchen was 112 degrees and the cook wanted to be out of there! We ordered and the meals came out very fast but not before we were asked 3 times by the very loud and frankly intrusive server "were our drinks ok?", "did we want to order NOW", and again, how are your drinks?" My friend and I were talking in a very soft lady-like manner and this person's tenor and intrusions into our conversation was very un-welcomed. My sandwich had mustard slathered on it, so much that I had to wipe it clean in order to eat. My tea had been served w/o the milk I requested and w/o benefit of a spoon with which to stir it when I finally was given the milk. Thereafter there followed an annoying uninvited "visit" by our server approx 4 more times to interrupt the important conversation I was trying to have with my guest. When the cook came out and pulled the money out of the register, and when the server yelled across the large room to someone who had entered the front door, over our heads, I asked my guest: "what time is it?" "2:30" she answered, we were being told it was time to leave in no uncertain terms before the close of their published business day! Then the coup de grace... the lights were turned off! Frankly I was surprised that the vacuum cleaner was not also engaged at that exact time. I stood up and said " Well I gather we are being told to leave?" No answer from either the cook or the server. I asked for the check and shared with the server ( in a very calm demeanor) how she had broken every rule of gracious dining in the 45 minutes that we had been their "guests". I left but not without leaving a generous tip even though she told me since we had had such a negative experience that I did not need to leave a tip. After all it is not her fault that her employer has not trained her in the finer points of hospitality...which is by definition "the friendly reception and treatment of guests or strangers". We were neither treated or received in a friendly manner. I left saying: "Goodbye for now and forever". I went home dreaming of the next time I would be at The Reading Room Cafe in Cos Cob, Greenwich where the customer is treated with the most gracious hospitality ...even if I were to arrive just before closing time at 5PM. Instead of leaving the world behind for one hour we were instead bombarded by the world outside being inside Roots... noisy, distracting and utterly w/o even the semblance of good manners and dining etiquette. Sadly and Sincerely, Mary Howard

The breakfasts and coffee are solid. The staff is helpful and courteous. I showed up for breakfast recently. I ordered the Chorizo. Two eggs, two chorizo sausages with pepper jack cheese and spicy mayo on a sandwich roll. It was as good as I remembered. I also enjoyed the coffee included in the $11.45 price. I took the meal upstairs where there's additional seating. I ate it while seated inside the picture window, which is a good place to the activity along Lark St. The eatery is as eclectic as ever. There are signs and artwork on the walls from different eras that don't go together. The place is old and perhaps a bit musty. Still this place had so much history with the area and its mismatched decor is a part of its charm. Change may be good. But in the case of the Daily Grind, I'm happy to still be able to get a delicious meal at a reasonable price from a nice staff after all of these years. Comfort food at its best.

I gave them 3 stars because it's a new business and they may be working out kinks etc. On a positive note: The service was attentive. They use a quality meat boarshead. Being a freshly opened walk in business, the ambiance is a bit barren. If they want to be a successful deli they have to choose between selling quality deli products or bongs and cheap cigar/tobacco. If they're content with what they are doing, bless them, it's a place I wouldn't go back to even in a jam. Their shelves are filled with things you find at Stewart's, the deli counter seems like a secondary thought after they filled the main behind the counter space with cheap cigars ( the kind you use to roll blunts) and bongs. It did not have the feel of a deli but rather a convenient store with a sandwich counter. The food: as I stated, the boarshead is a good start. The bread was not made today and likely not vacuum sealed since being opened a day or two ago. I had a roastbeef with provolone LTO AND Mayo. Lettuce was wet from being washed (buy a spinner) which makes the sub drip..yuck. Honestly, intake responsibility for not asking for oil/vinegar that may have given the sandwich some life. It was bland. Not enough Mayo, tasteless tomatoes (not their fault), wet lettuce. Just a plain convenient store sandwich. I will try this again and provide them with more direction. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
