Both Bryan and Kara Criswell are amazing surgeons and people who really care about the patient, their mental well being and their perception of what would be best to make them happy , along with what is a realistic approach to meeting their request. Both Kara and Bryan educational background is quite impressive, but so is their hands on involvement within the hospitals outside of their own practice and our community! Dealing with so many people with Breast Cancer can be a difficult process and they make this process for so many a gift. I have had procedures with both Bryan and Kara for medical reasons along with cosmetic and rejuvenation procedures. The staff all greeted me with kindness, eagerness to listen, and was considerate of my time. With all of the recent 5-star reviews within the last few days and a previous response from Criswell & Criswell stating all the credentials and years of experience that Dr. Kara Criswell has with breast cancer, reconstruction and revisions, I feel that I have to tell of my horrible experience. I was under Dr. Kara Criswell's care for 2 years for breast cancer reconstruction surgeries. Unfortunately, her experience and awards did not help in my situation, or the 3 other women that I am now in contact with that have had very similar issues. I had 10 failed surgeries, multiple implants, 4 infections, one life-threatening. With the last infection I was once again put on antibiotics (that did not work) and I was told to put cream and gauze on the open wound FOR FIVE MONTHS. Like a fool, I didn't doubt her expertise and did accordingly. Finally the open wound became so large that the breast implant was visible and fluid was draining from it. Also, while still seeing Dr. Criswell and going through breast reconstruction I found a new lump under my arm. Dr. Criswell told me it was a cyst and not to worry about it. I asked her about it a second time, one month later and got the same response stating she would lance it in the future. During my last surgery with Dr. Criswell, right before I was put under, I insisted she remove the cyst because it was bothering me. She added it on to the surgery at the last minute. It ended up being a cancerous cyst! If I had listened to Dr. Criswell the cyst would still be there, possibly growing. One of my breasts was healthy and cancer free. She tried to match it to the cancerous breast during reconstruction. When I asked why the healthy breast looked odd, she said that it "bottomed out." Also, the areola is crooked, pointy and there is a "dart" under the breast. I would never recommend this doctor to any patient that is dealing with breast cancer reconstruction especially post radiation. I hope this helps future women do their research before choosing a doctor. read more

Been going here off and on for 4 years. The last time was about 1.5 years ago when my face was burned by one of the aestheticians performing a chemical peel and microderm. I looked in the mirror the next morning in horror. I immediately called the doctor's office to report this and was met with disbelief and nonchalance. I had to resort to emailing pictures of my burns for her to believe me. She then just told me to go out and buy vaseline to put on my face. Nothing else! After a year and a half I decided to give them another try. I was concerned about literally getting burned again based on my past experience so I asked the receptionist which aesthetician had more experience with my type of skin. She assured me they all had the same experience. I made an appointment but had to reschedule twice due to unexpected work obligations. I was told by a bitchy girl receptionist that I had to pay $25 to reschedule because over the last 5 years of being a customer I've rescheduled 8 times. That is an average of 1.5 times per year. And given the fact that I paid them and they GAVE ME BURN SCARS they should be glad that I was willing to give them another chance. read more

I was really excited about getting a microdermabrasion treatment done and booked this appointment two months ago because it was the first availability. I went to my appointment and when she went to start she realized the machine was not working. She told me I was going to have to reschedule. I was understanding because there is nothing you can do about equipment breaking. When I went to the front to reschedule they said the first available day they could get me in was April 4th. My close friends have given me many compliments about my subtle results. My motto is less is more which seems to work for me as no one can guess my age. Yes, we all want miracles but let's be realistic we just want to look and feel the best we can. I've read mixed reviews about Dr. Criswell and I wanted to share my perspective. Dr. Criswell is booked in between appointments and surgeries as he's running a successful business. Now and then, there are scheduling conflicts and changes that are needed. The staff and receptionist are helpful and accommodating. Making appointment changes is not that big of deal as you have a SURGEON with years of education plus experience and not just person with a certification, at your service. I came here for reconstruction surgery after having a double mastectomy. I'm so grateful for Kara and her team. From the very beginning of my journey (which was a couple of years ago) until now, she has always been professional, helped maintain the integrity of my breasts and has been genuinely sincere. I recently had minor complications (not by any cause of her) and had to have an additional surgery. She was again professional, kept my breast looking the best possible (even with all of the scars) and was so kind. Kara also has a very positive outlook and a healthy sense of humor. Very displeased with the communication (or lack there of) from Dr. Criswell's office. It took a month to receive results from a breast ultrasound and was told he wanted to then send me for a breast MRI. It's been another month and I haven't heard from Dr. Criswell's office nor the hospital to schedule said MRI. It should not be the patient's responsibility to stay on top of a surgeon for basic answers. I was very comfortable with moving forward with surgery with Dr. Criswell (especially after meeting with several other surgeons first) but now I would never spend my time & money at a business that can't stay on top of patient communication. read more

Dr. Brian Criswell is outstanding! However, practice has had turnover and the level of being able to accommodate patients has gone downhill. I have called several times to try and schedule for a service I have already purchased. Ended up being refunded because they were unable to accommodate any date that worked in my schedule after 3-4x calling. Very disappointed. DO NOT USE CRISWELL AND CRISWELL CROOKS!!!!!! I meet with the staff in October of this year, 2015, i was very happy with my meeting with Dr Kara Criswell and her nurse was equally pleasant and helpful. My trouble was with the Care Coordinators and the Office Management.. BE WARNED.. they have fee's they don't discuss with you until they are collecting them ie. if you want to use your care credit, they charge a 6% FEE on top of their other fee's.. also i was told that a 250.00 PROCESSING FEE would be charged to me for handling my old implants and to cover sending my under warranty SIENTRA implants back, sientra charges the client no such fee...I also found out that sientra if you have a level 3 or 4 contracture will cover some of your surgical costs, this was not benefited to me at criswell and criswell. When i called to ask the office manager about my concern for these fee's that the woman scheduling my procedure kept confronting me with only at the time she was collecting them. I was told they woud research and get back to me. in the mean time i had to pay out of pocket 500.00 for a mammogram they had to have 20.00 for my first dr.'s surgical notes only to have the office mgr. call me back 2 days before my surgery and tell me due to my unhappiness with the fee's they didn't feel like they could make me happy, wouldn't not charge me the fee's but instead sent me packing!!!! I told them i didn't understand why me bringing to their attention my unhappiness with being charged all these FEE'S that were only told to me at the time i was being charged and not upfront?? i was quickly dismissed and released as a client... I later found out about the 250.00 charge as being Bogas per sientra, and the 6% fee to use my care credit which NO ONE ELSE PASSES ON TO CLIENTS which 6% of 9K is 540.00 DOLLARS JUST TO USE YOUR CARE CREDIT!!! I am out all my time off work for visits and consults and mammogram fee's. I later went to HUNSTAD KORTESIS and found them to be far superior surgeons and the facility is not next door to a pizza place or nail place or above a hair salon, but to be its own state of the art surgical center!! I am soo blessed that criswell and criswell were completely awful to me and FIRED ME for my unhappiness with their FEE structure because now i am blessed with an amazing DR and an amazing staff and FEE FREE and part of my surgery is covered by sientra i am very happy. read more

I have a skin condition, melasma, and have been to several dermatologists and specialists that were unable to help with the scars and discoloration on my face. Criswell & Criswell esthetician and nurses were knowledagble about my condition and were able to provide services (dermaplaning, laser treatment, and facials) to minimize the dark spots and helped me develop a skin care routine to manage my complexion long term. If I could give them no stars I would. I called and made an appointment. I had accidentally scheduled two appointments at the same time so I reached out to Chriswell. To receive their answering Service where I had asked the lady to relay the message to have them call me about Possibly rescheduling my appointment. I get a confirmation text on Monday about my appointment. Then I receive a call from them the one I asked for saying we saw that you reached out to us we're getting back to you. I explain to them yes I'd like to know when I could POSSIBLY reschedule. I might and might not just depending on how far you have to push me back which is what I told the answering service too. She then informed me that they already canceled my appointment without speaking to me first or asking. She was condescending aloof gave me the run around. Very rudely unapologetic not sympathetic almost making me out to be the crazy person. tells me I'm sorry there's nothing we can do if we have a cancellation we will let you know. I said you don't seem to care that as a customer I'm upset at the way criswell has handled this. I explain to her that this is very important I can't wait till when they could get me in. She tells me that maybe it's just not the plastic surgery office for me. tries to send me to other places instead of excepting the fact that they made a mistake by not contacting me they missed construed what the answering service said and still did not fix their mistake. I was even question if I was telling the truth about what I had such an answering service. They told me they're answer service is pretty thorough. Obviously not and neither is the practice considering the way they CHOSE to treat my appointment. I ask them to please explain to the person you gave my appointment to that she made a mistake please I never canceled my appointment they we're not going to do the right thing. I am shocked considering it's in a nice area at the unprofessional behavior. While I'm being placed on hold the on hold music is playing while we want our customers feel warm and appreciated You can hear through the waiting music It's comical.
