I have been over 310 pounds for over 15 years. 4 years ago I had gastric bypass. I lost 126 pounds but still had a TON of skin left over. I saw several plastic surgeons over a few years preparing for my next step in my weight loss journey. I even saw what I thought was a highly regarded surgeon locally. I found his accolades in several magazines and heard his advertisements not knowing they were all paid for. When I went there I was given to a surgeon who was NOT board certified. Dr. D, Susie, and JJ listened to my plan and asked several key questions. As they asked these questions it revealed that my plan wasn't what was best for me. They constantly referred back to my health, my recovery, and my ultimate outcome. As we developed this plan they consulted every aspect of my life. They wanted to know what support I had, if I had enough time to recover, when I needed to get back to work, and if I was mentally prepared for the surgery. As prepared as I was it still was going into unknown territory for me. As an expert in my field I know all the ins and outs. I try to prepare all of my clients for what to expect but I know that it is uncharted territory for them. I knew this is what Dr. D and the staff were doing for me. They gave me all the tools I needed to make the best decision I could but I did have to trust their wisdom, and expertise to take me through the whole experience. I had my first surgery on 2/6/14. This was the most invasive, a full tummy tuck. I had over 10 pounds of skin, and tissue to be removed. I have never been a small girl but for the first time in my life I wore a bikini to the beach this summer. That was never my goal but it was/is a glorious outcome I never expected. My last surgery was 11/6/14. I am just two weeks out from having Aquashape liposuction to my entire thighs, bat wing arms, and some to my torso. After the birth of my son, I started to consider breast augmentation. This was after most of my adult life saying "I will never get breast implants." Having a child certainly changed me physically and it was a clear cut case of a woman's perrogative to change her mind. I didn't like the way my breasts looked and it made me insecure. Thus I started my journey into finding THE doctor to do the job...the right job. I went to three other doctors before meeting with Dr. Ditesheim, in fact, I almost cancelled my consult with" Dr. D" after hesitantly thinking I had already met "the Dr" at one of my thee other consultations. I am so glad I didn't cancel and did meet with Dr. Ditesheim. Right away, I was put at ease with the professionalism of his nurses and office staff. They made me feel like one of the girls, about to get her "girls" done. I conveyed my wishes and expectations with Dr. Ditesheim and he seemed to genuinely listen to what I wanted and furthermore, understood what I wanted and did not want (something that the other surgeons I consulted could not). Dr. Ditesheim understood that I wanted "natural" looking breasts and that I did not want "stripper" breasts which sat at my collarbone. The other surgeons suggested a lift along with implants, but Dr. Ditiesheim knew he could give me what I wanted with implants only and without additional procedures. I went through the "fitting" to find the right size for my frame, not too big but not too small....after all, we all want our moneys worth. After deciding on size, Dr. Ditesheim discussed at length (for over an hour) my concerns and fears...too many horror stories to read about on the internet...and I immediately felt at ease. Surgery day came and went and I was extremely pleased with the results. The follow up appointments were always thorough and left me knowing that I had indeed made the best decision in choosing my plastic surgeon. I even went back a year later to have two small lesions removed from my nose and that went perfect as well. As of today, I am almost two years out from my breast augmentation surgery and I could not be happier! I look fantastic naked again. Outstanding in every respect!!! As a male, I lived with puffy nipples my entire life (43 years), which developed into gynecomastia later in life after some poor choices in regards to supplements. I had consultations with other surgeons, but could never bring myself to go through with the procedure. Partly due to the amount of money, and partly due to some poor bedside manner on the part of other surgeons and their lack of personal interest in my case. Doctor Ditesheim was worth the wait. The aqua-sculpting procedure he uses drew my attention, so I went in for a consultation. His entire staff is friendly, involved, and accommodating. From the moment I walked in the door, they made me feel comfortable with the procedure and answered all of my questions in detail. Thanks to the aqua-sculpting, I was able to have the procedure on a Friday and return to work on a Monday - very important to me, as I'm active duty military and was not able to miss more than a day of work in my current job. After 3 months, the scars (two, 4 millimeter incisions in my armpits) are nearly invisible - you would have to be looking for them to find them, and even then, I have a hard time finding one. And the results are amazing. For the first time in my life, I can take my shirt off and not be embarrassed. The surgery actually came out better than I thought it could! His price for the surgery was extremely reasonable as well. Another "leading" surgeon in the Virginia area quoted me about $2,000 more, a longer recovery time, and said there would be visible scars. This procedure, and the results, were worth every penny. To finally be comfortable in your own skin after 4 decades is priceless. I would recommend Doctor Ditesheim to anyone - he, and his entire staff, are knowledgeable, friendly, thorough, professional, and go the extra mile to accommodate patients from out of the area and with demanding schedules that have very little flexibility. Five stars are not enough to award this doctor, Dr. Ditesheim, and his awesome, awesome staff. They are so nice and make you feel so welcomed. I recently went to Dr. Ditesheim for Fat Grafting to transfer some of my unwanted belly fat to my breast. A little secret, when Dr. Ditesheim asked me "now where do you want me to extract your fat" I thought to myself is he kidding? I'm sitting right here with my belly on my lap but then I thought how gifted and sensitive, how unassuming, he is asking me what do I think, and what do I want. You see, I am a ACE certified personal trainer, a yoga and group exercise instructor for the past 20 years. I have two lovely daughters who blessed me with four adorable grandsons. Now I find myself in my mid-sixties,(can't believe that), and despite all those years of exercising and teaching exercise classes, I realized that I needed outside professional help to minimize and maximize some of my body parts. (Let's keep this a secret, the gals in my class don't need to know that)... anyway, this is the doctor I was looking for. The surgery was under a couple hours, I only had local anesthesia, and frankly for me it wasn't that uncomfortable, (but to be fair, I have had my eyebrows and eyelids tattooed with a want-a-be pain deadener) anyway, I was back to work in less than a week. I am a Rwandese plastic surgeon practicing in Kigali, Rwanda (By the way, there is no option given to choose Rwanda as my country on my profile). 3 years later and I am still a happy camper!!! After having 2 kids back to back, my chest really suffered. I went from being pregnant, (big chest) to nursing, (huge chest) to pregnant for the second time, (big again) to nursing, (huge again) then once I stopped I was not prepared for what my breasts would look like. I got the full tummy tuck almost 2 months ago. Dr Ditesheim and his staff were amazing. The results came out just like Dr Ditesheim promised, or even better that what I was expecting. The surgery was as easy as possible, the recovery was longer that what I thought, but nothing that I could not handle. I am that person that literally is afraid of flu shots or anything else, but because I trusted Dr Ditesheim, I decided to take this step on my life. I have been seeing Dr. Ditesheim periodically for several years now. The majority of my visits have been for Botox treatments. I have been EXTREMELY impressed and satisfied each and every time as although these treatments are not the higher cost and more complicated surgical procedures he offers, he still takes time to assure that he talks to me about my concerns, he thoroughly explains how he will be handling the injections and why, and just truly is all about educating me and making me look the best I can. I never feel like he is rushing me nor pressuring me into additional procedures or treatments, which would absolutely turn me off. I am 6 weeks out from breast reduction surgery with Dr. Ditesheim and I couldn't be happier! I am 21 years old 5'2", was about 125 lbs pre-surgery, and wore a 32 DDD bra. I have been seeing Dr. Ditesheim for Botox for years, so when I started thinking about liposuction he was my first choice. I am a healthy weight and I exercise regularly, but I never felt good about my body shape in jeans. I am a 54 year old lady looking to get back into dating and needed some confidence! I had the aquashape /water shaping lipo. What a difference! I had several areas done: upper and lower abdomen, inner and outer tights, back and bra rolls. I did the procedure under local anesthesia only. I could have driven myself home, but because of distance I did not. Out of work two days (day of procedure and the next day) and back to work on the third (full day). Took pain medication the first two days and ibuprofen a few days after. Minimal bruising. After a week......some swelling but most of it is gone. I love the way I look now. I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ditesheim that I would like to share. For many years I have fought with a pooch around my mid-section.
