I proceeded with the surgery. The cyst filled back up in the EXACT location as the previous cyst so during another procedure by qualified plastic surgeon I asked him to look at the new cyst. He told me, "it appears he did not get it all". I consulted with Dr. Nowicky to seek removal again. As I was questioning Dr. Nowicky how it had returned, it became clear he did not like being questioned. I explained I was just trying to get educated about the physiology of these cysts as I thought surgical removal was permanent. He then stated this was a new cyst (exactly under the scar of the previous cyst). I am not a doctor and cannot prove/disprove what he told me but wanted to understand what had happened. I took his explanation at face value but upon trying to reschedule the surgery I was refused. Lesson learned: Don't question Dr. Nowicky.

Being a young woman, I am sensitive and insecure about the skin on my face, it was not a pleasant experience to have a doctor take one look at me and tell me I have bad acne. I asked if we could go back to discuss the subject I came in for and he immediately shut me down saying he had gone over all the possibilities (I can understand if there's nothing that can be done, but I had not been given a chance to ask questions or discuss history, etc). After being told I had flaky skin and acne, Dr. Nowicky continued to talk down to me as if I was stupid and again did not let me discuss my current skin care routine or other practices. In fact, he WRONGLY assumed I was using "witch hazel, boutique skin care, essential oils, and aloe vera." He did not let me talk about my skin or voice concerns at all, and he was extremely condescending. Terrible bedside manner, I felt rushed and as if I was a stupid waste of his time. I am a 21 y/o female at the appointment by myself, I felt extremely patronized because of my age and gender. Flustered, I began to tear up and he showed absolutely no compassion as the tears rolled down my cheeks. I was given a generic skincare routine (again, NOT what I came for) and he left me in the room to "compose myself." The ONLY positive part of my experience was one of the nurses came in after to offer me comfort and advice. Furthermore, my prescription was never sent to the pharmacy.

I initially went to Dr. Gear for a breast reduction because I had had implants put in (many years ago) that were too big for my small frame. As time went by, they became cumbersome and unsightly. During the consultation I mentioned that I was also uncomfortable with a fold of skin that practically covered my belly button, as I wear a two-piece bathing suit and want to continue doing so for years to come. Dr. Gear explained that the procedure for that would be a tummy tuck but advised against it because my stomach was otherwise flat with little fat. He explained in detail the recovery that this procedure entails and the scar it creates. But ultimately left the decision to me. I went ahead with both procedures. I interviewed another top plastic surgeon in the area who didn't give me any of the innovative ideas that Dr. Capizzi recommended for the best outcome possible. These products include the Sientra / 'gummy bear' implants to replace my old silicone ones. These Sientra implants are the safest implants available on the market, and they have a 20-year and up to a lifetime guarantee. They have the least complications of any implant on the market, including for ruptures or capasculsr contraction and other complications. These Sientra implants have a more cohesive gel that does not leak like other typical implants (imagine cutting a gummy bear in half and you have two solid pieces that are still intact- this is what happens with this particular type of gel implant). Dr. Capizzi also inserted a dissolvable mesh support at the bottom of my breast to make sure that the stays in place and also to stops drooping due to gravity / aging, which hopefully, means that this will be my last surgery. I am a 54 years old and this will be my third implant revision and, hopefully, the last one! Although my breasts are still sore and tender and the scars are healing, I already feel much better at day 6 then I felt with the other two surgeries at 2 weeks! I told Dr. Capizzi that he had 'carte blanche' to do whatever was necessary on the operating table to achieve the best possible outcome, and I actually went down a size because the larger implants that were similar in size to what I had previously did not give him the desired results that he wanted- and that he knew that I wanted. It's a little fuller than the other available gummy bear implants, but they still feel nice and soft. Yes, there is some pain but it's mostly just tiny pinches and it only lasts a few seconds. I try to schedule my appointments either late in the day or on my day off in case there is any swelling. You can return to work the following day without your coworkers noticing you had something done (they just think you look refreshed).
