The store clerk ignored most of my questions, and continued doing whatever it was he was doing. It got to the point where he just wasn't even answering me. A wonderful FLGS: open and well-lit, well-stocked without being cluttered. I had a great conversation with the owner today when I stopped in with my wife for the first time - we've just moved to the area and I wanted to check out our gaming options; Critical Hit checked every box for us. We didn't make any purchases today but will absolutely be back. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about both the products in the store and the culture and history surrounding them - from Pokémon Cards to indie TTRPGs, Critical Hit doesn't miss. P.S. My husband and I have been meaning to check out Critical Hit Games for a while now, and last night we finally got the chance while we were in the area. The shop is a neat setup, where half is indeed a shop while the other half has tables set up to allow for gaming-along with a library of games for you to try as well. The variety of games is good as well! The shop owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the games, and was able to offer suggestions based on games I already enjoy playing. I also appreciated that, as a woman, I was not 'mansplained' regarding games, or treated like I didn't belong, as is often the case when I or female friends go to game stores. The store owner was polite, helpful, and had a fun sense of humor. The store is very clean and well lit, and the gaming area has a small stock of snacks and drinks available. When we arrived, there were a few young men there playing a game, and they seemed to be having a good time as well as good rapport with the shop owner. A last fun thing about the shop-the bathroom is an almost exact measurement scale of the Tardis from Doctor Who. Can't get much better than that! read more

This place just rocks! If you're highly nerdy or geeked out. Play games or want to learn to play games, DND. This is for sure the place for you. Grant is amazing and will teach you anything you want. Games from apples to apples to some really old school DND stuff. Don't take my word for it. Stop in and check them out. read more

We always try to stop in here whenever we're at the Melt on the corner, and they always seem to be open, even late. The store itself is pretty big, and although I've never participated in them myself I know they host game tournaments and other social events that seem pretty successful. I believe they even partnered with Fears Confections for one such event. We love this store because it's locally owned, it's bright and open and clean, and it always has a great selection. I have never left without picking up a new game or expansion (last time I got the Betrayal at House on the Hill: Widows Walk expansion, it was great!). I asked for a recommendation with a pretty specific set of parameters and these guy did not at all fail to deliver. It seems that they favor the Magic the Gathering and Pokemon continuous gaming crowds but they have a great selection of board games and card games for the casual gamer like me and my friends. They were quick to answer my questions and chat about future purchases and things I would like if I liked what I got. Very cool spot. Great place to find games! Aside from your standard Magic, Pokémon, and other card games, they also host RPGs, everything from shadow run to D&D and pathfinder and others. They also have an impressive collection of board games and a collection in the back that you can play test to decide if you like them before you buy! The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the games they carry and have played or watch others play just about everything they carry, so they can tell you about what gameplay is like and offer recommendations of you have an idea of what you might be looking for. I walked in with the intent of trading some cards for other cards/sealed product. I asked the gentleman behind the counter if they took trades and he said yes. So I went got my cards from my car came back in and set them on the counter in front of him and continued to browse. After about 10 mins of me being the only customer in the store he hadn't touched my trade ins nor said a word to me. I don't see this shop lasting long if they can't even help 1 person that came into their shop. read more

I love this place! They have this whole section of board and card games you can play for free. I think the idea is that you'll buy what you like, but there's no judgment if you just bring friends and play games. Melt and Pizza Bogo are practically next door, so it's easy to make it a regular gaming spot. They have Magic events all the time too. Best game store in town; staff/owners are very friendly and provide a great atmosphere because of it. They attract the right crowd of people for a friendly game night (you'll not find yourself at odds, even if you are new to playing a specific game--as other players are generally courteous and kind) whether your playing Magic the Gathering or others. This is an incredible store! I was trying to locate a game that was in heavy demand and sold out everywhere on-line. Copies were being sold on-line for over 3 times its retail price. Critical Hit Games had one copy left and sold it to me for their regular price minus their holiday discount. When I pointed out that this was in high demand and selling for much more than that, they told me that Critical Hit Games decided on a policy when they first opened the store: Even when an item is in heavy demand and could sell for much more, they will sell items for their excellent price (or at a discount). They simply refuse to take advantage of their customers! That's what I call an excellent store and excellent service! read more
