I hired them for a pest inspection of a house I wanted to buy. They missed obvious termite damage…read morein the garage. We found the damage when we moved in and called them for an explanation. They have since done nothing but try to avoid any responsibility for their mistake. Today I spoke with Keith Nolan and his excuses morphed over the conversation but all were preposterous: "There was clutter in the garage so we couldn't see the damage" - untrue, the pictures I took that day show the damage was clearly visible when they inspected, they just missed it. "I have been doing this 32 years and can assure you that we bear no responsibility under North Carolina law for this" - surely they have a duty of care? "We saw the damage but we couldn't get close enough to determine the species causing it so we couldn't mention it in the report" - is there anyone that believes that can possibly be true? "We saw the damage but despite our many years of experience we couldn't be sure it was caused by insects - it might have been nail holes" - nails impersonating termites? Obviously up to you, but if they make a mistake, and everyone makes mistakes, this company will do everything to avoid taking any responsibility for its mistake. You can judge whether the excuses above are incompetent or dishonest. If you don't feel lucky, consider using another company.

Total ant invasion! Ugh! What to do?! Called Douglas! Rick ventured out and saved the day! For only…read more$90, our family received its 1st pest treatment! Although the office initially lost our paperwork and then the service technician Rick missed his scheduled appointment and did a no-show, we still used the company as our home's pest exterminators. Rick arrived professionally dressed and wearing a smile! He listened attentively as we described our ant problem then careful explained the best way to go about treating and resolving the problem. With no further delays, Rick immediately set to work. Our home was treated both internally and externally. Rick even crawled into the crawl space under the house and diligently researched all possible entry points to determine the best places to apply treatment. He was very thorough. After the initial treatment, 48 hrs later, the family had another ant invasion! Once again a call went out to Douglas Pest Control. Rick returned. Treatment was applied again, this time it was applied inside the residential walls through grout crevices. In addition, Rick rechecked external avenues, widening the treatment area. During the process, wasp nests were discovered! Even though he was there due to ants, Rick had all the equipment necessary to switch and handle the wasp nests. He sprayed all three nests then diligently researched the full perimeter of the patio looking in all nooks and crannies for other possible nests. Only when he was satisfied there where no others did he conclude his service for the day. Thanks Douglas Pest Control! The family chose to retain the company for quarterly treatments so Rick will be returning every 4 mons to retreat.

They wanted to reschedule for two days later, completely inconveniencing us for two days. I understand things can happen, but to not notify us the day before when the leak was discovered, was rude and not mindful of our time. Not only did they not have a spare part on hand, but they made a stupid decision not to borrow a hose from another job in order to close a 4 figure deal and contract. spoke to the manager and he was supposed call us back the same day and he never did.
