We used Critter One to remove raccoons from our attic. We had seen their trucks in the neighborhood and decided to use Critter One's services. Their process was to seal up all access points cut a vent hole with a "one war out" so the varmint's left when hungry. It worked, the raccoon left and went to my neighbors house. This is a racquet and very unethical business practice. When calling to follow up and ask about the service that was provided the owner Daniel stated "he would deny the allegations" and refused to come out and talk to his customers about the process. Not good ... One thousand five hundred dollars for three rat traps and a can of foam.. First crew said it was a squirrel. They cut a hole right at the main entrance of our home to let the rodent out. No squirrel. Next crew said it was a rat. set three traps. still hear scratching at night in the attic. We put rat bait in the attic .. Two days later no rat. We ask them to patch the hole they cut by the front door properly. They said they would put a screen over it. We noted this is not a double wide we need it done right due to the location right at the front door and the amount we paid.. We ask for a $300 rebate for us to have the patch done properly. They said no but they would fix it right for $400 on top of the $1500. We are in our 70s and feel like we were taken advantage of. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. End of story .. read more

We called them to take a look in out attic for a raccoon. The initial home inspection was fine and they provided a detailed list of the things they "wanted" to do. We agreed on the ones we thought would actually be what we wanted and agreed to a deposit for services. They came out and unsealed the area I sealed off, never actually went into the attic to see that the raccoon had already left, and placed a trap outside by our garbage cans. They also put wiring on our roof causing one of our vents to stop working (charged $95.00 for this and did not do it from inside the attic as their plan said) and left a mess of wire clippings and screws on our roof. Then they charges my credit card for the full amount without authorization and before they completed their work (i.e. removal and spraying our attic). Then the repair and paint to match the area they made worse consisted of a thin metal piece screwed into the wood ($300 charge). So we paid $1285 for them to not trap anything, spend $50 bucks on the wiring mesh and another $50 bucks on the chimney patch even if you add in labor we were still WAY OVERCHARGED for what they actually did. Was expecting more for the money. I would recommend using another company that provides better service for the money you are spending. read more

We had a critter chewing through PEX plumbing. It was a nightmare trying to get this little critter or catch it. We had another company before them (Mayday pest) that I would steer clear of. Anyways the company came out and assessed the attic, listened to my feedback about everything that had happened (chewing through the plumbing, failed prior pest company, and everything I had tried), and gave a quote and recommendations. They recommended sealing the attic, installing a one-way exit point to allow the critter to leave and not come back, and setting traps with bait. Keith and Ramon came out to seal the attic and do everything. They were quick and professional. We haven't had any issues since they came! The company is really good with follow-up and communication. Do not use this company for armadillos. They will just throw a trap in the yard and bait it with tuna. You'll catch a cat, possum, raccoon, or skunk. Basically, you'll catch anything but an armadillo. Then, if you complain, they will rub the contract in your face and tell you to go find someone else. read more

"I was given a call back about a job application I submitted to Critter One. They informed me that I could come in for a working interview where I would be paid for my time." I should have knew something was up when I was the first one at the shop and all the guy were late. We had a full days work where we did multiple houses and which none of them were done correctly. It was horrible work only doing half of what the customer asked. On top of that they don't take the proper steps in to releasing the critters in to safe habitats away from traffic. The workers joked saying they sometimes dump them on the side of the roads. I have tried to contact them about pay. And have not heard a single word back. Absolute WORST experience I've had with a company. Joey Lopez, the salesman, initially came to my house to provide me the quote on Friday, gave me an itemized invoice with the price. We scheduled service for Monday and I paid it. Joey Lopez said if they were to find any areas in follow up services that weren't originally found, it would be covered and is part of their guarantee. Monday morning, the crew shows up late and Joey comes to my door about an hour later telling me even though he wrote 5 roof facets on the invoice, he did the math wrong and don't charge me correctly. I told him no, that they're on the invoice as well as the price agreed to that I've already paid and to call his manager so I could speak with him about it. He told me that I would have to pay for it or they wouldn't guarantee the service. He said it's only $195 and I need to pay it. I continued to ask him to call his manager and he just stood there arguing with me. Finally he called his manager, Fabian. I spoke with him and he agreed I wouldn't have to pay the extra since it was Joey's mistake and I already paid the agreed to prove on the invoice. Joey was incredibly unprofessional telling his manager they shouldn't have to guarantee their work since they waved the $195 due to JOEY'S mistake. He continued to speak over me, even calling me the wrong name after I had already corrected him & laughing about it. I ended up kicking him off my property after being disrespectful and unprofessional. The crew did an absolute SLOPPY job and then just left without letting me know or pointing out any work the supposedly did. They charged me $250 for the weather stripping on my garage door and did not even put it on!! (See photos). They also charged me $300 for feces removal & $225 for disinfectant - they never took any disinfectant up to the attic & they never brought any bags down as if they removed any feces! They DAMAGED my easement by cutting a HUGE whole and their shoddy work is SLOPPY to say the least!! The boys that were out here left sharp wire throughout my yard and didn't clean up after themselves. I sent Fabian a text on Friday asking when they would be back out because its still evident theres either squirrels or a raccoon in my ceiling and never got a response. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - they are shady as they come and SLOPPY!! I will be contacting the BBB on Monday and getting estimates for the damage they've done to my house. I called up Critter One and explained my situation regarding bats! Shortly after, Joseph came by and inspected my home and created a quote for me. I accepted the quote a few days later and Joseph called me within a few minutes of my acceptance. He advised he could have a crew out today. Chris and Keith arrived and got to work. All 3 of these gentlemen were professional, courteous, and explained everything they did to ensure I understood. They cleaned up all debris and gave me instructions on what to do for the "what ifs." I couldn't be more satisfied with the work done, the pricing, their efficiency, and professionalism Critter One provided me. This company advised they would check in around a 2 week timeframe. UPDATE!!!! I got a call from a woman, Nancy or Nicole I believe. I explained I have still seen and heard a few bats, but much less than before. STAY AWAY AND DONT USE THIS COMPANY Spend your money somewhere else. I was promised that my rodent issue would be solved, but I am still having issues with rats in my house. I shown them the rat feces near my sink, stove and cabinets. I still have activity going on in my ceiling but everytime they have come over, they don't want to go in. Don't know why since they don't answer my questions about it. All they can say is they don't know where they are coming from or how they are getting in. My dog has caught more rats than they have. They claim to have a "15 month warranty" where they advertise they GUARANTEE animals will not re-enter for 15 months or they will RETURN and SERVICE the problem for FREE. When speaking with the Operations Manager, Fabian (took 2 weeks for him to call me after I called him 5 different times and left him messages), he said they don't offer refunds and he didn't know what was offered or guaranteed. As if they aren't any notes in my file. He was not friendly and said if I have to call BBB or seek legal advice that's up to me. He also promised to call me back after speaking to the salesman who set up services with me. It's been a week and I have heard nothing. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY! They had to come to install a one-way exit cage to get racoons out of my walls and then mistakenly took it off a week later, only to have the same family of racoons move back in. They came back and reinstalled it.... Wrong. The one-way door was installed so it didn't swing and the opening to let the racoons back out was adjusted far too small. In addition, they used a ton of long nails and screws to adhere it to the hole, which would have done terrible damage to the animals if they tried to leave. Bottom line, the racoons are now heartbreakingly dying/starving in my walls and Critter One ended up doing the most damage possible with shoddy, irresponsible work. I would never, ever recommend them. It disgusts me just thinking about how careless they are. read more

I would NOT recommend Critter One! I scheduled and received their free inspection. The technician, Carson, was friendly and professional, and left me the estimate. This estimate included items that had nothing to do with the critter than I needed to be removed. This estimate was EXTREMELY padded with overkill and unnecessary items. A few weeks later, I called them back to schedule an appointment but let him know that I did not need all of the extraneous items. Carson chose to argue with me that the items were necessary and if I did not agree to 100% of the items they would not offer their 15 month guarantee. I told him that I only needed the items that pertained to the ringtail in my attic. He said they would not be doing my service. My attic was infested with a family of raccoons. Because I often listen to WOAI where Critter One advertises, I assumed the best. What a mistake. Maybe that was the first of three mistakes. I thought I was being told the truth by the man who came out to get the service started. Turned out that a lot of what he said was wrong. And I foolishly paid the entire amount upfront, rather than a portion. This may have incentivized them to give me the service that I signed up for. Apparently, Critter One thinks that a raccoon problem will be fully addressed in less than two weeks. When they agreed to put out a trap, five raccoons continued to be caught a month after they began. And the service person I would talk to on the phone always reminded me that it was over two weeks since they started. Apparently, they didn't coordinate with the raccoons. I asked about the collection of feces and disinfection that I paid for. I was "politely" told that it was done on the first day, while the raccoons continued to live up there. She finally agreed that this collection and disinfection should be done again - but more than two weeks later, still nothing. The last person who came out did not have everything he needed to repair the damage to my roof where the raccoons had dug through to get back in. He was supposed to return to complete that and remove the one-way exit that they installed on the eaves of the roof. Three weeks later, nothing. I got a text that they would come out today, but no one ever came out. I spend a day being available for a no show. This has been a terrible experience that no one should have to go through. read more

Here are the reasons why you shouldn't hire this company: - Very overpriced. We paid $2,400 for a lousy job. Lousy I meant it didn't do anything. They put traps that they said should work for squirrels but no squirrels where caught. - MY dad actually caught 2 squirrels by himself and Critter1 promised us there should be no more leaks because of the "inspection" they did but lo and behold few days later more leaks from chewed pipes. - We called the company to see if they can comeback and check our house and the audacity of these people to tell us it's not going to be free even though in their contract "warranty for 15 months if critters comeback". The people that works in the office kept giving us attitude when we need their help. We paid $2,400 and we are really tired of the leaks and the damage on our house and for that amount of money these people should at least do their job. Long but I promise it will save you from hiring this knock off company and having to go through what my family did! First off I had asked the owners of the house we are renting not to go with this company. Others in my neighborhood had said how horrible they where. Now almost 3 months later the rodent was finally dead (not confirmed, just suspected), they stopped their once a week visit. The past two weeks I asked why they hadn't come. Finally today, the owners received a message back stating this... "Tenant at "address" is leaving the garage door open allowing rats into the messy garage. They're then chewing holes into the drywall granting them access to the home. We've asked several times to have the garage doors closed in order to restrict the rats but have been unsuccessful. What can we do? 14 trips for a rodent job had never happened. Typically 2-3 weeks or worst case 4-5 weeks and the issue is solved. Garage door needs to be closed or rats will continue to come." EVERYTHING is a complete lie. They showed up to do the work of whatever they stated they were going to do. I had just gotten out of the hospital from being sick. So my son was the only one really able to talk to them. I wasn't able to go over their work. Found out that they had only put two traps side-by-side on a tub in my attic. Mind you, there was no activity in the attic, it was all in the subfloors. I sent a message to the management company telling them that there were only the two traps and how in the world they were actually going to catch anything when there were tons of spaces and cracks that they could get in and out of around the house. After four weeks I contacted another pest control and they came out to look. I was informed that they missed many places when they were here to cover up, some of the holes that they covered looked so sloppy and disgusting, instead of putting the screens on the inside in some of the vents, they covered them from the outside and it was a complete eyesore. Then they found a huge hole in the dry wall that was never found because they didn't look through the garage and move things. The new company said it looked like a hole going in not out. We asked the owners to go with this new company instead so they could do the job right but they "critter one" refused to allow them not to pay. I was given the number to the manager/owner who then proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that their way was correct. That he has done x amount of home before and never had this problem. Then proceeded to treat me like a child telling me there was no way the hole in the garage was their before because his guys do it correctly. Yet they where coming back out to redo the sloppy inadequate job they did the first time??? Not to mention, they were finally putting traps in the subfloor. The garage was opened when they came because they were supposed to be coming on those days to check traps and inspect the garage. (Mind you they haven't been by in over two weeks now) At one point, because of the rodent, one of the water leaks was by the front door and the front door could no longer open. From that moment on, when they arrived I would tell them I would open the garage for them. Once gone I shut it. We have had lawn equipment and expensive tools almost stolen once from it being open so I'm very adamant on it staying closed. At first I did not want poison put anywhere because we have dogs and a cat. In the end though, I asked them to put only a couple in the subfloor. Had they explained that this might've worked faster and they could've kept it from getting near the animals, this might not have taken three months to finish. 8 weeks later I asked them to close up a few more spaces I found where they might be getting in and out of that they had originally missed even after the second time coming to redo it all. It wouldn't have taken this long had they done their job right the first time instead of having to come back out a month later to redo it all over again correctly. The fact that they are trying to pass blame for their shortcomings shows how bad this business is. It shouldn't have taken me and another company to show them their mistakes for them to finally do their job right! read more

Fantastic service. Very quick and reliable. I had heard some scratching up in the attic in the morning hours. Around 9am I called critter one and they were able to have a technician come out to my home to give a free estimate and see what exactly was the problem. Robert was on time and extremely helpful. He quickly diagnosed the issue and gave me a rough estimate. It is a lot of work and they make sure to do it right. However, due to me being a cadet in the fire academy I told Robert I could just not afford the full service that his company offered at this time. He easily understand and I'm stead of turning around and leaving he even gave me a few pointers so that I may try to resolve the issue myself temporarily. I mentioned that in the future I would be in a better financial situation to be able to do a full critter one service to resolve the issue if it persists. I had a racoon in my attic. I hired Critter One to remove it. It was very expensive at $1,928.50. They arrived very late on a December night. It was dark and I had to assume they did everything they quoted on the work order agreement. I paid the full amount in advance. Because they arrived late, the nocturnal animal had left my house, and they repaired the hole with a thin piece of metal patch, wood screws and caulk. They spray painted it to blend in with the house. They set some rat traps inside the attic and a cage trap outside. That was it. They came by once a week to check the traps. The outdoor cage trap was faulty, as the animal(s) would enter, take the bait and leave. They replaced it, and we ended up catching a skunk instead, no racoon. After a couple of weeks, Rick, the manager came and picked up their cage trap and said they were done. I was surprised since we had not caught the animal, but he assured me they would come back if needed. That's, also what the sales rep told me, and the technician that they would come back. When I signed the agreement, I was a bit hesitant because of the expense; but Joey Lopez, the sales rep, reassured me there was a 15-month guarantee, and if I had any problems during that time, they would come out and take care of any problems. Exactly 32 days after I signed the agreement and paid the full amount of $1,928.50, I called them because my dogs found a raccoon in my backyard. I spoke with Joanne, she said she would send out a trap for ONE MORE WEEK, because my warranty did not cover animals on the outside, only the inside; but nowhere in my paperwork does it say that. It seems like it should not be such a big deal to provide the traps for another 3 or 4 weeks in order to capture any racoons that come in my back yard. Remember, it's only been 32 days since I paid them. I'm good that the animals are no longer in my attic, and they finally caught one racoon, but I think there might be more. So, save yourself a lot of money! Kowing what I know now, I advise you go to Home Depot and buy some small pieces of sheet metal to cover the holes in the wall. Attach the patch with some wood screws and caulk. Set some rat traps in the attic. Deodorize the attic with some disinfectant. Purchase an outdoor cage trap to catch the animal yourself and set it free in a wooded area. That's what they did. Spend less than $200.00 and do it yourself. Today, I went to Home Depot and spent an additional $80.00 for a trap of my own to finish the job they started. I also would like to advise Critter One to be clear in their Work Order or Warranty, and actually state the warranty only applies to the interior of the house, not the exterior. More precise language would have been a prevention to my ill feelings towards this company. They should come back and finish what they started! read more

The salesman came out and got on the roof then looked around the outside of the house but never went into the attic to check. He came back with a $2,000.00 estimate to raccoon proof my house. I asked if he was going to check the attic to see if they were there and he said "they're there for sure". I hired this company to remove an animal under my mobile home. When I spoke to the woman on the phone I asked if they would go under the home to place the trap and she said yes and that they would seal it afterwards. I didn't know what she meant by seal it other than put the panel back in place. She quoted me a price of $325.00 payable upfront. The guy came out and walked around the house and quoted me a price of $3000.00 for the sealing. I said I didn't want that, just the animal removed. He placed a cage on the outside and I asked him to put it under the house. He said they don't do that. He then crumbled up 2 oatmeal cookies as bait took my money and left. The next day I called the woman and told her I didn't like the service and why. She was rude and said you didn't want the sealing so that's all they do. They were supposed to come back out and rebate the trap but not a word. My text to them was ignored. If you have $325.00 to throw away call them. She didn't care when I explained that the animal was doing damage and that I'm on a fixed income, just refused to give my money back and to continue the service promised.
