Jeff and his team are thorough, detail oriented, and communicate every step of the project. The best part is the quality of the repair...truly my house exterior is like new again! As a landlord living out of town, knowing from a distance that the repair will be done right is peace of mind! I have had my roof and gutters totaled twice, I also had garage door, siding, paint, deck, A/C condenser and other miscellaneous damage...they repaired every little thing and recommended small upgrades or changes that would help if this ever happened again. At the final walk through to check all the repairs Jeff is clearly proud of the work done, pays attention to every little detail, and will ensure you are satisfied with every aspect. I could not give Red Oak a higher endorsement! -John

Contacted Red Oak in November of 2025 for a roof replacement and siding work. Jeff and his team…read morewere pleasant to deal with, and seemed to honestly want to work hard, especially given pushback from insurance. However - their progress was slow, above and beyond the insurance issues. I would have to poke and prod them to follow up. Even then, I stuck with them, even if it took until June 2026 for them to actually schedule the work on the roof. They took the downpayment for supplies and then.... NOTHING. After a few weeks, with NO call, text or email, a team delivered the materials but despite 6 separate contact attempts (two texts, two emails, two phone calls) I heard nothing for over a month. I'm now stuck with repairs delayed by six months, rainy weather, having to find a NEW roofer who will have to redo the arguments with insurance, and having to require my funds and get their materials off my property. Honestly, I'm expecting I'll need a lawyer before long. I'm giving them two stars despite my frustrations because I suspect they've had something or someone collapse internally. So, as I said in my last contact attempt, they have my sympathy, but NOT my understanding.

Stay far away from them if you're not in a reasonable service area. They are an insurance claim chaser company and will step all over you to get at your payout. They sent different people out to inspect and provide quotes (gutter and soffits/fascia was the scope requested). I did not ask for a roof assessment but the gutter guy thought it might be eligible for an insurance replacement, so I said sure send the guy on out and let's see what happens. That's where it got really.... interesting. My first appointment was for a Friday. I asked for a specific time so I could manage my work schedule around the inspection. A time was agreed upon. Nobody showed up. I had to initiate contact to find out that they would not be coming that day due to the time/distance. We rescheduled and on the rescheduled date, I reached out early to confirm the time and was told the inspector would be 30min late. I readjusted my work calendar and was notified it would be an additional 15min. This turned out to very much work in my favor. The inspection was very thorough and took about 1.5hr. At the conclusion of the inspection I was told they can convince the insurance company to replace the roof. They showed me what ended up being a contract, but was not presented as such explicitly by name. I was asked to sign before they revealed the "fine print" on the back page - which involved having the insurance company sign the check over to Rex Roofing rather than me (I have USAA). This didn't sit well after discussing with several people and reviewing the fine print. I voided the contract within the 72 hour grace period so I can get a second opinion, gather additional quotes, and control my own insurance payout (if that happens). Instead of responding to me to confirm they received my email (always document in writing! With time stamps!) they forwarded it to the inspector who started texting me asking to "resolve" the situation. I explained, as I had in the email, that I would be taking my insurance payout myself and I requested a "cash price" quote from them. I was then told there was no way my insurance company would approve it without the inspector present, a number of wild assumptions and insinuations were made, and I was essentially berated by text by the salesman for exercising a legal right to void the contract. I had to block his number because he would not stop texting me to mansplain how I had no idea what I was doing as a homeowner and he was the only person who could convince my insurance adjuster to cover the roof. Turns out he was right - they talked me into opening a claim, the adjuster said the roof is perfectly fine and they would replace only one portion of one downspout that had hail damage. I can't tell you how the "value" of this company compares to others because they said they would do the work "for a price agreed upon with the insurance company" without providing a scope of work or any numbers of any kind in writing - so I guess they're not really interested in much besides doing the job for as much as they can squeeze out of the insurance company. I might not have made a USAA claim myself but everyone else in my family has.

He also helped guide us through the insurance claim process, keeping us informed at every step. Three years later we had a couple circuit breakers pop in the main panel, so I called them back to come check it out. They came right away and looked over the system. Turns out the plug overheated and since it was deemed (by them) to be related to their work three years prior, they waived all the labor cost because they fully guarantee their work. Quality, value, responsive, and honest! What more can you ask for? I HIGHLY recommend.

There were numerous issues - they initially told us our roof could handle solar.  The installers arrived and said there was an issue with the roof.  We had three different roofing companies inspect our roof - two when we purchased the house a few months prior to the solar being installed and one when Freedom Solar told us the roof had a problem.  NONE of the 3 roofing companies felt there was an issue.  Then Freedom had material issues.  We chose them because they told us they were a local company, which turns out they are not, and that parts were ALWAYS on hand. Finally the day arrives for the electrician and the panel installers to install the solar. The electrician did his work, unfortunately, the panel installers quit in the middle of the job. Why?  We have no clue.  We knew about the electrical boxes on the house because we could see them.  What angered us - the holes in our roof that were left behind by Freedom Solar. They neglected to tell us about the holes.  Had we not gone up to look at the roof, we would have discovered the problem only when the roof started leaking.   Fortunately, Proud American came to our rescue. They repaired the roof, as you can see in the photos.  They also did a fantastic job installing our solar. We did not have one problem with Proud American - we highly recommend them for solar!
