We hired Joaquin and Hines Landscaping to install artificial turf, a concrete patio and pad for a shed, a wood retaining wall, and angular edging rock. What they did was amazing. It turned out so well that I still stop and admire the work. Our backyard is exceptionally functional now, our dog loves the turf, and the neighbors have provided many compliments. Joaquin was great to work with and the whole Hines crew did a fantastic job, including leaving the front yard in better condition than it was before they left, since it had to get disturbed to get people and equipment into the backyard. And, finally, the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend Hines Landscaping and we will certainly be using them again if the need arises.

We have a new house with a lot that has great views and we needed a design that would make the most of it. The backyard was very sloped so they brought in 660 tons of fill so that we can walkout of our house without steps. They created a large patio with a large stone firepit, a dining area, raised planters, lots of garden areas, native grass with wildflowers, and a trail down the hill. We are now the neighborhood party house. They did all of this in Oct-Dec so don't be afraid to plant in the winter. They're very knowledgeable about which plants are drought resistant and good for our altitude in Gleneagle. They know what is resistant to being eaten by the deer. They have a designer on staff that is beyond amazing at yard layout. The designer was able to incorporate some concrete design into our house build so that our builder was able to pour the concrete to blend with the designer's vision for the front steps and sidewalk that swings around to the backyard. The work crew was so friendly and talented, hard working. It really is an outstanding company. A couple of plants didn't make it through the first winter, and they came out and replaced them without us even asking. They check up on the yard every once in a while just to make sure everything is taking root and growing. They also did all of the up-lighting on trees and lighting on the sidewalk. Also lighting around the gorgeous fire pit they built for us. Oh, did I mention our water feature?!!! And they did a rock river on our side yard where we had drainage issues dealing with runoff during rain storms. Works great! We have some Kentucky blue grass up around the house, but not much. We stuck to a lot of natural grasses and wildflowers which are more drought resistant. We had them put a beautiful waterfall under our bedroom window and listen to it in the summer when we go to sleep.

After an initial consultation and several bids, we opted for Eric And Bree. The reviews on several sites were all positive and after being left in bad situations with other vendors we proceeded cautiously. Bree and Eric were fantastic to deal with and Eric's team was courteous and professional. The team actually functioned as a high performing team. They rarely took breaks and they cleaned up the area throughout the process. We started initially with a small problem in terms of the area that I wanted turf. But it was never and issue, Eric went and purchased the additional turf and Bree quickly updated the quote which was still well under the other two bidders. The pictures say it all here and the transformation has been incredible. Everyone that comes over cannot believe how amazing the turf is. The attention to detail and making sure the turf was tailored around each rock and tree was great to watch. The team takes great pride in their work and Eric's leadership made the project a no worry event. The turf is easy to clean, my blower is my main tool getting the leaves and pine needles off. We have already had our first snow and no issues. Cannot wait to work with Eric and Bree next Spring on hopefully adding a putting green with a sand trap! For the investment, I could not be happier with the end result and think it will be a huge value when we decide to sell our home. Red flags started immediately when they demanded the cashier's check be written out to a personal name instead of the business. After taking our money, they missed our June start dates and ghosted us for weeks with endless excuses.When they finally showed up to lay the base, the crew tore out our old turf but refused to replace the urine-saturated base underneath, which was part of the job. The next day, owner Eric claimed they were "out of money" and refused to finish unless we handed over an additional $6,000 upfront before they would continue the work, plus another $2,000 after the job was completed. to fix a measurement mistake they made.When we refused to give them more money, they abandoned the job, leaving their tools and an illegally parked trailer in our cul-de-sac. They later returned under the guise of collecting their tools, but instead used it as an opportunity to steal back all of the pre-bought turf that had already been paid for and delivered to our yard.They left our yard completely destroyed. Worse of all, our dogs' paws are now cut up from the debris and rough base they left behind. We are left with no yard, stolen paid for turf. We are left with no yard that is usable for our four dogs because they couldn't even leave us the turf to put down. We were left with injured dogs no turf that we had before they started. We were left with nothing.

If the same effort that went into the public retaliatory response to my first review had been directed toward quality customer engagement, they might have had a happy customer and a great review instead. With that in mind, I was extremely impressed with Evergreen Ecoscape and Design. They helped us with a couple of landscape projects for our house in North Colorado Springs (Northgate area), and their services have been nothing short of exceptional. Our first project involved removing some sod in the front yard and replacing it with landscape rocks. This project not only enhanced the aesthetics of our yard but also promised to reduce water usage during the growing season and minimize the effort required for lawn maintenance (mowing, aeration). Evergreen, starting with Wesley, did a fantastic job of listening to our needs. Wesley came up with a proposal that met or exceeded all our expectations. They ordered the rock, installed the contractor-grade weed cloth, and hauled away the debris, making the entire process smooth and efficient. One thing to keep in mind is that many Colorado Springs landscape companies do not work in the winter. Evergreen is a notable exception. They worked around the weather and snow to ensure that the work was done professionally and not that busy winter time. Their commitment to their work is evident in their ability to adapt to challenging conditions without compromising quality. The second project involved building a dry creek bed, or arroyo, in the backyard. This project was designed to help with flood mitigation during summer storms. Tyler and Luke were phenomenal in executing this relatively complex project. As with most projects, we encountered some snags, but Tyler was able to adjust the plan to ensure that the water flowed correctly and made sure that the water gutters from the roofs had an unobstructed path to lower ground. Very important for the torrential down pours we sometime get in the Summer. I was very impressed with Evergreen's professionalism, communication, hard work, and ability to improvise to ensure that the project deliverables were met. They assured me that they would stay until the job was done right and correct, which they did. Our front yard is very small and we have an even smaller patch of turf that we wanted some help mowing/fertilizing. I was satisfied with their pricing structure but for the fact that they wanted to charge an insanely high hourly rate for hand pulling weeds. I called to talk to them about this and to point out that there weren't many weeds that were grown but a lot of fledgling weeds which was the whole reason we needed the help (we handpick / dig up more mature weeds all the time). We reached an agreement we were comfortable with and then when they sent us an upgraded bid, they still had a crazy high amount baked into the bid for handpicking weeds. I called to ask if they could get an eyes on the property before we approved that high amount (as I was comfortable with them spraying instead of handpicking) and they said they didn't have time to send anyone out and that the height of the weed will determine whether they spray or handpick, then they told me we could handpick the weeds that were taller ourselves if we wanted to, which was pretty upsetting. I felt very nickle and dimed by these folks given that our yard is not very big and the cost including the handpicking was the highest bid we received by far. We wanted to work with them but they were so concerned about a team of landscapers having to pick maybe 5-6 weeds, they set a very high price. I even sent them a picture of the yard and they even agreed there arent many weeds but still insisted on the high handpicking charge. Very disappointed.
