Perched atop a gorgeous hillside vineyard sprinkled with picnic tables and a lovely small stage for concerts, the scenery was breathtaking, peaceful, and absolutely amazing--even under an overcast sky after narrowly missing the rain. The hospitality matched the views, with a warm and friendly staff that made our personal tasting--shared alongside a lovely couple visiting from England--truly special. We explored the tasting options among three of us: Red Flight: Chosen by my father. White Flights: Enjoyed by both my sister and me. Sweet Selection: An alternative flight offering a mix of red and white options. Wine is wonderfully personal, and while I appreciated their selection overall, the whiskey-barrel-aged wines weren't quite to my taste, as I generally prefer wines aged in oak or stainless steel (especially whites). A Helpful Tip for Visitors: While there are handicap parking spaces, we found the walk up to the tasting room a bit challenging for our mother due to back issues. We later discovered a couple of parking spaces closer to the entrance, as well as a staircase. Thankfully, we were able to drive up the hill to pick her up afterward, sparing her the walk back down! After our tasting, we relaxed outside with a picnic lunch we brought ourselves. All in all, I truly enjoyed our visit and would love to return for one of their concerts. As a fun bonus, one of the co-owners is Kix Brooks from Brooks & Dunn! If you've never been to Arrington Vineyards, it is definitely worth a stop.

There were parking attendants on hand directing guests to available spots, which was really helpful since the property is quite large. Once parked, you can either walk up the hill to the winery and seating areas or hop on a complimentary golf cart for a ride. Since we were wearing wedges and heels, the golf cart was an easy decision! Once we made it to the top, I was pleasantly surprised by how much space there was for guests to spread out and relax. There are multiple areas throughout the property where you can enjoy live music, or if you're looking for something a little quieter, there are garden spaces away from the stages where you can sit and take in the scenery. We stopped inside the winery to browse the wine selection. You can purchase bottles to enjoy on-site or order a flight if you'd like to sample a few different varieties. They also offer snacks, water, and a selection of wine-themed merchandise for anyone looking to take home a souvenir. After making our selections, we headed outside to a picnic table with a beautiful view of the vineyard and the mountains in the distance. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous! Everywhere I looked, people were enjoying themselves. Some groups had elaborate picnics set up, others were dancing to the live music, and many were simply relaxing with friends and family. The atmosphere was such a vibe, and I loved every minute of it. After a couple of hours of wine, conversation, and beautiful views, we were ready to head out. One of the golf cart drivers was kind enough to give us a ride back down the hill to our car, which was the perfect ending to a relaxing afternoon. Overall, I had such a great experience at Arrington Vineyards. Between the gorgeous scenery, live music, wine, and laid-back atmosphere, it's the perfect place to spend a few hours with friends. Things got a little better and the two wines that are actually under their name/label were surprisingly delicious! Anyway, we were driving back to Louisville from Nashville and the Fella filled me with joy when he said we could stop at a couple wineries on the way. Not only is it a great way to break up the monotonous drive, but it allowed me to try more Kentucky wineries (like a Pokemon, I wanna try 'em all!). Cave Valley Winery was the right distance between the first place we stopped and getting home, so we decided this would be our final boozy-stop on the way. It is easy to get to, just a small loop off the highway at the Park City exit. It was a strange first impression when we got there, though. The winery isn't so much a winery, as it is a room inside an old hotel that also operates as the site's regular bar. They were also getting ready for a Ladies' Shooting competition to be held on the weekend, there were lots of gun signs and promotional booths and tents set up and sponsor banners. We weren't initially sure that we were at the right place...maybe some of the banners were covering the winery sign? Also...guns and alcohol...what could go wrong, amirite? It was strange. When we walked in to the bar, there were two people futzing around with the register iPad and a printer. It took a bit before we were greeted, and when we were, they both mentioned that they were not the tasting host and would go get her. While she was being retrieved, we were able to look over the wine list and the woman at the bar got us started with our first sample, though she admitted she didn't really know anything about the wines. Once the usual wine tasting host, Amber, came in we were ready to lock and load. (Get it...because of the gun range...no? Ok.) You get 5 samples for $5. But be aware, they only have TWO wines under their own label. The two they have are surprisingly delicious, if I do say so myself. As for the rest of the two-page wine list, they are all wines from Wight-Meyer, which is not one of my favorite places either. So that was a little disappointing. And they were out of a few of the wines I wanted to taste. Amber was pretty alright though, with some information on tasting notes. But she was minutes from the end of her shift and asked that we close out right away. Which was fine, we needed to get on the road again anyway. Overall, I am conflicted. It was a weird experience, but their wines are decent and once Amber got to our tasting, all was well. But temper your expectations if you are a winery-hopper like me. (If I was feeling more generous, I would give another star just for all the puppers roaming about....but really, 3 stars is where its at.)

The garden ceremony area was expansive with the sun shining over the fields. The setting made the perfect backdrop for the couple's photos, complete with wildlife in the background. After a lovely ceremony, we enjoyed cocktail hour and then moved into the reception space, which was exactly what this couple had dreamed of. The band played, and we danced the night away. Just note there's no air conditioning in the reception barn, but there are very large fans. Long Hollow Gardens & Vineyards was the perfect venue for this Bride and Grooms dream wedding. My…read morefriends and I had heard about this place via social media, and were pleasantly surprised that it lived up to all of our expectations! We bought General Entry tickets & wildflower picking tickets online a few weeks in advance. When we got to the gardens they asked for our names and directed us to park. Once inside we stopped over a the bar for a wine tasting - all of the wines are made in Tennessee on property - and bought 2 bottles for us to enjoy throughout the night. We also checked in for wildflower picking at the bar and were given glass jars to fill with flowers. The staff was very kind and helpful during that process. I also thoroughly enjoyed the free strawberry lemonade and regular lemonade that they provided guests, though some of my friends thought it was too sweet! Our one mistake was not going to pick flowers earlier in the night. We started when the sun was setting, but the area was so large that it was dark by the time we were finished. It was also the last week for wildflower picking, so there weren't as many left available as I imagine there is earlier in the month. We also ordered pasta from Pasta Gailfi, a food truck that was on site and enjoyed it at our table. If I were to do it over again, I would also bring our own food and a deck of cards or a board game for us to enjoy as well! The venue was stunning, and I imagine it acts as a beautiful wedding venue as well.
