I purchased a GoldenDoodle from Crockett last year. She was born on February 28, 2025, and she has been a constant disappointment from the first day she arrived. She was sick when she got here -- vomiting and diarrhea, sometimes with blood in her stool. We took her to our vet, only to find that she had an intestinal parasite. Total cost to cure: over $500. She has also been a constant behavioral problem -- destroying furniture. Worst of all, she is afraid of almost everything -- from the first day she arrived. The Crockett trainer said she was shy -- hardly. It's as if she were traumatized as a very young puppy. She is the product of a Lancaster, PA puppy mill. The Crockett people should be driven out of business. We spent thousands of dollars for a dog that is a constant problem. read more

Although the initial developer of Crocket doodles was family run, undoubtedly they are not now. When my 9 month old Cavapoo failed to get potty trained after 5 weeks, I talked to a certified trainer. My dog would only poop in the kennel which means they were trained or left in their kennel without potty breaks so they became used to doing it the kennel. The trainer, who is training my puppy in person, trains service dogs and found puppies that were fed and kept in kennels were more apt to do their business in the kennel - they had been trained to do so. . What was even more depressing is that they give a bible with their goodie bag! I think the original owner had good intentions at first but they have strayed from their original agenda. Original review: Dishonest pricing. They will charge you the full $600 premium for a "mini to medium" doodle. Yet you are more than likely going to end up with a 60+ lbs doodle. They will claim it's a one off, however there are many owners with similar experience. Would you still love your dog? Absolutely! I would be very careful with this company. It is not a breeder. Do your research, know how breeders operate and industry standard practices, and what your rights are as a "buyer" of bred dogs. Consult vet expertise prior to depositing. This company uses common corporate marketing practices in order to confuse the consumer, preying on family's love and compassion for a new family member. The BBB describes Crockett Doodles as a dog breeding and marketing company. Breeders are typically compassionate for animal care rather than sales focused. Know what a puppy mill is, including how they impact a vulnerable dog's lifecycle, and ask yourself if any clues of mill practices pop up from this company while you learn about them. Confusing the consumer with lots of conflicting language, and expressing with flowery loving language, is a tactic. Their websites are deliberately misleading... and while pretty, their model is concerning. See screenshots. These are text messages exchanges with the "adoption coordinator"-- breeders do not use this language as it is deliberately manipulative. Know that the breeder you want to work with is transparent and interested in giving information about the genetic lineage especially the dog's mother. If a breeder does not want to share information on the dog's mother, they don't know the dog's mother. If there are no vet papers, there has not been a visit with a vet. Crockett Doodles and their affiliated departments (Crockett Pups, Bernalier Pups, etc) work to prove their reputation with BBB reviews, which is not indicative of humane treatment of such vulnerable souls. I browsed multiple sites on internet before I came across this one and you should go here first!!! The web page explains their process and will help you through at every step. We adopted a 8 week old Cavapoo (Alexander/ Archie). We signed up for 4 weeks of training and it is worth everything! Crockett Doodles was amazing to work with. I placed my deposit in Feb. of 2024 and could not buy a pup until July 2024. They kept in touch with me as I was not sure of the mixed breed that I wanted. I decided upon a Cavapoo but, I could not drive to South Carolina from N.H. and therefore they offered Pennsylvania as a pickup option. I also could not pick the pup up on a weekend and they were quite flexible giving me an option of a weekday. When you are a business; you must offer flexibility to the customer and they went above and beyond to help. I was given a bag of food to take with me when I picked up the pup as I had ordered some but, it was not going to get to my house in time. The exchange process was professionally reliable, friendly, and super easy. I have had my pup 2 weeks now and Crockett Doodles has followed up with me several times asking how things were going. They have now offered to cover the vet bills related to our pup's broken leg. They have also offered some other very helpful services to help care for our pup as he recovers. I am grateful for their response, and feel confident based on my recent interactions that had a family decided they could not keep their pup due to an injury upon delivery, Crockett Doodles would have taken him back, cared for him, and found him a new loving home which is what you really want know a breeder would do. Next time, I'd encourage them to reach out proactively with solutions in this type of situation, which is unintentional but certainly challenging for everyone involved. Thank you to Crockett Doodles for helping to make a difficult situation better and for helping to bring Rocky into our lives. ****** We adopted a golden doodle from Crockett Doodles in April 2025. We paid Crockett Doodles to deliver our pup, which is a service they offer. Somewhere along the 3-hour drive to our home, the driver broke our puppy's leg, and didn't realize it until we pointed it out when they reached our home. They have no idea how it happened. We of course still accepted delivery of our pup, took him straight to the vet where he had a cast put on and painkillers prescribed. We had hoped Crockett Doodles would take responsibility for their negligence and pay for our pup's significant vet bills that continue to mount for his many months of treatment and care. Unfortunately, they view this as an "unforseen health issue" despite acknowledging their driver broke the pup's leg, and their "Health Guarantee" is limited only to the cost of the pup. They originally asked us to file an insurance claim with our pet insurance, and said they would only cover what insurance wouldn't, up to what we paid for the pup (not sure why my pet insurance has to pay for an injury they caused while the pup was in their care, before we took ownership of the pup). After some back and forth, they refunded us the cost of adoption (but not the delivery fees, funnily enough), which will not cover his medical costs. The rest we either pay ourselves or from our pet insurance, and if we file these claims, I expect our insurance premiums to rise. We also don't know what other medical issues may arise in the future due to this injury. I really wanted to like this breeder, but this experience has left us pretty horrified. I'm disappointed to have to post this review, but I feel others should be made aware of our experience as they consider potentially adopting a puppy from Crockett Doodles. read more

Sometime prior to our taking possession of our puppy she must have been abused. She is still shy when an adult comes by. I'm not saying that it happened with Crockett. It could very well have happened with the Trainer (Puppy Kindergarten) Crockett was associated with. It's my understanding that Crockett is no longer associated with them. If Puppy Kindergarten were smart, they have probably changed their name. As for Crockett, I would be serious concerned with there multi-breeder network. Buyer beware. Make sure they disclose all information upon delivery or pickup of your Crockett Doodle or sister company Crockett Pups. They did not disclose that they had treated my puppy 2 courses of medicine to resolve Giardia. She came with the parasite and it is very difficult to cure. Unmanageable and unreasonable to house break an innocent puppy that has to poop 8-10 times a day. She also eats her poop which is something from day one she did. This was either a learned behavior, left in slop and the need to clean herself, or she has a medical issue. I brought her to my vet, after getting her on a Wednesday afternoon, that following Friday. This required a standard poop culture, check up and shots. They received the culture back confirming the parasite. I picked up the medicine. No one tells you to pick up the poop that she does on the outside and use 1/2 solution of water to 1/2 solution of bleach to rid the live cysts that are still alive and will reinfect the dog. Especially if she's learned or needs to eat her poop. Ten days later on a Sunday eventing, after throwing up clear white foam, which then turned a brownish, I rushed her to the Vet ER. More tests, fluid administered subcutaneosly, more meds, and more $$$$. Back to the vet. More poop cultures looking for additional bacteria or parasites. THIS IS JUST NOT FAIR. IT IS CRUEL THAT THEY DIDN'T DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION AND YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH A PUPPY THAT IS JUST NOT RIGHT. THEY SHOULD HAVE CURED HER BEFORE THEY TOOK MY MONEY. IT IS SO UNCARING. AND BUYER BEWARE, READ THE FINE PRINT. THEY WILL ONLY GUARANTEE GOOD HEALTH OF THE DOG IF YOU BUY THEIR FOOD AND FEED THE PUPPY THAT FOR AT MINIMUM THE FIRST YEAR. A SLICK WAY TO MAKE ADDITIONAL MONEY AND REFUTE ANY CLAIMS REGARDING THE WELL BEING OF THE PUPPIES THEY SELL. I AM A DOG LOVER. HAVE BEEN SINCE A VERY YOUNG AGE. THIS IS A VERY SAD SITUATION. Our first family pet and we were so nervous to deal with a "broker" of doodles from SC when we live out in CA. I heard of referrals from a few people who knew of others that loved their Crockett Doodles so we took a chance. The refundable deposit already made us feel at ease since many breeders do not offer this. The prices were extremely reasonable considering the pandemic puppy competition and we had been looking for what seemed like a long while. The transparency and communication was what made me confident to go with this breeder. It is a HUGE investment considering we were adopting sight unseen. We got a Christmas puppy announcement in late November and got our first choice doodle (Mini Bernedoodle) but unfortunately, a weekend before we were to receive him, we were told that his last vet visit showed he had 2 luxating patella. We ended up passing on that first pup unfortunately but were grateful they worked hard to get us first pick on our third choice doodle (Maltipoo) and we received him 3 days before Christmas. We were so relieved that they were honest with us and that we were able to still receive our precious doodle. He is a dream family pet and we have adjusted as seamlessly as possible. Once we knew we were going to get him, I asked CD for more pics and they had the guardian parent start texting me with current pics and videos to show his wonderful personality. We received Fievel via flight nanny and he did so well! He came already crate trained and amazingly had/has the ability to sleep 8-10 hrs through the night despite being a 13 wk old, 4.5 lb puppy. I can't say all pups they raise have this ability, but we were pleasantly surprised considering the exhausting house-training experiences I heard from other families raising small breed puppies. He is very smart (already house-trained after less than a week!), has an incredibly sweet demeanor and is great with the kids (9 and 11). The vet said his exam came out great and we have had no health issues yet. We look forward to his last vaccination in a few weeks so we can freely take him for walks! They had been recommended to me by a close friend who got a goldendoodle from them about 2 years ago & now wants another! Our boy is a bernedoodle, not exactly sure what size he'll grow into but at 7 months he's happy, healthy & ~35#. He had giardia when we picked him up, but honestly, worms & giardia are incredibly common in puppies! He has a very sensitive stomach so we could not keep him in the recommended food and went thru several different kinds with the help of our vet. He's now on a raw diet and doing great. In communicating with other BD owners, this is not uncommon! He is the sweetest little guy and the overall experience was great. I've read the other reviews & complaints ... I disagree. Our GD is a puppy mill "rescue" and the experience with him from the get-go was incredibly different. I don't blame Crockett for protecting their breeders and clients - you can see why by just reading the reviews. Sure, I wish I had a little more information on his parents but honestly, a mixed breed dog like this is a crap shoot on size. Unless you get a multigenerational doodle crossed with another multigenerational doodle, you can't expect the size to be any more than a range. Be suspicious. I've always been told to "trust but verify." That is what lead me to cancel my puppy purchase last month with Crockett Doodles. (Take a look at the 175 hidden reviews linked at the bottom of this page) I found Crockett Doodles on social media and visited their website. I then applied for, selected, and paid a deposit for a mini bernedoodle. Pictures of my selected puppy were so cute! Asking price for the dog, $3600. Before booking a cross country flight to pick up the puppy, I requested standard breeding documentation e.g., registration papers for the dog's parents, vaccinations and health records, a video or FaceTime with the puppy and an image of the puppy with its mother. None of this documentation could or would be provided by Crockett Doodles. Without registration papers you are taking their word that the animal you are purchasing is in fact what they say it is. Without the papers stating the parents are pure bred (in this case a pure bread Bernese Mountain Dog mother and mini poodle sire). You are effectively taking a $3600 + expenses/10 year bet on their word. If you believe them and their website then take the chance. But their "policy" that they do NOT provide basic registration for their breeders is a huge red flag. They cite "privacy" which is not a legitimate reason. If they don't require registration papers from their breeders then they themselves can't guarantee the dog you're getting. (And before they respond to this thread - I'll say, no one at any point in time in this transaction was looking for a size or type of hair guarantee). Of course that is not possible and I wouldn't expect it. But if I know for certain the father is registered as a mini poodle vs. a standard or a mutt I have a much better idea of what I'm buying. There is a reason they don't provide papers. And if I had to bet it's because they have hundreds of "pets" who aren't certified supplying them with puppies and they are the middle man for selling the animals. I don't know this for a fact, but I do know there is a reason the language of Guardian Homes & Transition homes is used. There is a reason you can't see proper documentation. There is a reason you can't FaceTime with the puppies or get a photo of them with their mothers. My guess is that reason is they don't know exactly who their parents are, dogs are being shipped in from all over the country (check the location of their guardian homes online - not local) and they have too many puppies to do this for everyone who is buying one so they just make it their "standard business practice" - not to provide it. Then because demand for these dogs is so high they sell them to people who just "trust" them and give money back to the rest so they won't write a review. They sell their dogs to people who either don't know about the puppy industry so don't think to check, or people who want a puppy so much they are willing to look the other way and cross their fingers. Previous to this experience, I've had a Labrador, an English Bulldog, and a Saint Bernard and no breeder has ever pushed back on papers. It's industry standard. I've always seen the puppies with their mothers. Met the owners. Had full transparency into the process. Crockett Doodles does not do this, and I would challenge you to ask yourself why. I can get a dog from the shelter without papers. I've had a wonderful shelter dog name Marley - he was such a loving dog. But I now need a small low shedding dog which is why I'm willing to pay for one. Paying $3.6K for a bred animal comes with responsibility from the breeders. And this seller doesn't do it. It's that simple. Take a look at their team on LinkedIn. Take a close look at the complaints online. Know they can pay Yelp, BBB, and curate their Facebook reviews. I really encourage you to think from first principles the reason why they would lack transparency. Why is it their standard practice? Does that make sense? I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because they did refund my money when I pressed for answers and couldn't get a reason from them aside from "this is just what we decided to do." I was driving down Hwy 85 and saw a billboard for Crocket Doodles. It's been six years since I bought a labradoodle puppy from this breeder and it was one of the saddest and toughest experiences of my life. Seeing the advertisement brought back all the memories and I feel compelled to share my experience... All I wanted was a puppy of my own. I grew up with dogs my whole life. I love dogs more than anything and picking up my puppy from Crockett doodles was the happiest day of my life. I took her with me everywhere. She was constantly around other people and dogs. I took socializing and training her very seriously. Starting at about six months old, we started to notice odd behavior from the puppy. She also had several strange health issues (had to have surgery on her paw from a mass, had ear issues etc.). As she got older her odd behaviors turned to aggression. As she got closer to a year old, she had attacked several dogs totally unprovoked. Biting people soon followed. I contacted Nathan and Crockett Doodles several times over email and phone calls. After months of unanswered messages I finally got in touch with Nathan. I just wanted to get his opinion on the situation and see if this aggression had been something other owners had experienced. He was extremely dismissive and totally unsupportive. At this point we had also sought help from several dog trainers, vets etc. After months of trying different techniques with no success, we explained to him we felt extremely helpless. He offered no support at all and denied any aggression in his past litters. In the end, after so many scary incidents with children and other dogs, we were forced to seek another home for our precious girl. We loved her so much and it was the hardest thing we ever did. To this day the thing that upsets me most about the whole situation is that Crockett doodles didn't offer any help or admit to their dogs ever showing signs of aggression. Several months after we rehomed our baby, we kept researching this breeder to see if anyone else had a similar experience and to no ones surprise, we saw several reviews on BBB about Crockett Doddle puppies having aggression problems. I just checked the site and they are since gone. I share this because I never want anyone to go through the heartbreaking situation we experienced. Do your research. Meet the puppy's parents.
