I arranged to have Croft outfit my Honda CR-V to tow behind our motorhome and install a hitch receiver for a bike rack. Their quote seemed reasonable so I had them order the parts and left a down-payment. The two employees that I dealt with just didn't give me any sense of confidence that Croft would do a good job and it gnawed at me for days. We had to wait for the part; not their fault. but from when they got the part to getting by boat back, it was only 2 days! They even fixed a few things they noticed were needing to be fixed. TLDR; don't let them do any vehicle work, especially wiring. They installed a 7 pin to replace a 4 pin for me. Vehicle had issues with lights going out, returned it to them, they replaced the wiring and things worked again, for a while. Took it back, they replaced the plug, but it didn't work. They insisted they were not the cause. Took it to the dealership, who told me it was the "crappiest hack job splice" they had seen in a while as well as grounding to an aluminum surface (aka not grounding it at all). The dealership replaced all of their work and reground the vehicle, and it works. They refuse to take ownership of their lack of ability. They broke it and couldn't fix it, however the manager there was so insistent it wasn't them that I would not be surprised if they left it broke to not have to admit they did such a horrible job. So now $350 bucks later I have replaced their work and it all works fine. They may be fine for sales, but never let them do any electrical work on a vehicle. read more

This place is absolute garbage. I will not give them another dollar. I have several trailers and am constantly in need of their offerings yet I am continually misinformed about their capabilities, disappointed by their selection, or just absolutely appalled by the horrible customer service. They have everything they need to be a top notch trailer dealer with a monopoly on service and parts but I will not go back. Garbage garbage garbage. Buy your trailer from Cooper trailers in Oak Grove, they're outstanding. They are out of the way but we'll worth the drive. Need service? Take it to your local mechanic, chances are they are more than capable to repair your trailer, and they'll probably earn your money. Don't go to Croft! read more

I took my boat and trailer to get an estimate on getting the trailer hub spindle fixed. The rather brusk response I got was " I don't do parking lot estimates, you will have to BRING IT BACK and leave it to get an estimate". Really??? I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

Was concerned about adding a trailer hitch to my 2020 Volvo XC40. The Volvo dealer wanted over $1000 for the job. Called Croft and made an appointment after they ordered a hitch that fit my car. They said it would take about 2 hours. I was out of there after 1 hour and 25 minutes. Also, before they cut the rear bumper, they took me into the shop to show me what it would look like. I gave the go ahead and am very pleased with the job. I looks factory installed, and it cost me $325.00. The place is clean and the staff very friendly. read more

One of their trucks was impeding the left lane on 435 and appeared to deliberately hit a five gallon gas can in the road sending it flying into my hood and windshield. The driver refused to pull over, so I called the number on the truck. Molly promised that she would have the manager call me. The manager did not call. Molly again promised me the manager call me. Once again the manager did not call. I encourage everyone reading this article that believes in the power of social media to find another vender for their trailer supplies. I took my 20' trailer to Croft after a buddy of mine gave Croft Trailer a very positive review having taken his boat trailer to Croft (Smithville location) for the last 5 year. He had nothing but good things to say about service at Croft. Well...the Olathe location is NOT the same as the Smithville location. I took in my trailer and requested a full inspection including hubs, replacing a damaged fender, and inspecting an axle that appeared to be "bent". When I dropped off the trailer on a Saturday, they were extremely busy so I "killed them with kindness" and told them that I wasn't in a hurry and didn't need the trailer right away. The front desk girl (Sara) said that she was 2 to 3 days out on service and would call me in soon with an estimate. This is where the problems started. I did not receive a call back with an estimate "soon" as promised by Sara. Instead, after 4 days of not hearing back, I called Croft to get my estimate. When I called, the phone ran approximately 15 times before it rolled over to the warehouse. A guy in the warehouse answered and took a message and said he would have Sara call me back. Sara did call me back but the next day (day 5 since drop off). When Sara did call back she tried to give me a estimate for new lights and repack on my hubs and that was it! What about the fender repair? What about the bent axle? And I never asked for new lights as the ones that were on the trailer functioned just fine. Sara was confused and didn't know what to say other than to have the shop guys look at what I had originally asked them to. On the morning of day 6 Sara called me back and this time tried to give me an estimate of the repairs over the phone which honestly, she struggled to do. She never mentioned all of the line items of "nickle and dime" charges. All she ever did was tell me $35 per hub for repacking, and $130ish for a new axle including $150 for labor. She also quoted me approximately $60ish for a new fender and $120 for labor. More on this in a minute. I approved the work over the phone and Sara said my trailer would be ready the next afternoon. The next afternoon, I called and spoke to a completely worthless guy named Warren. I told Warren my first and last name and inquired if my trailer was ready. Warren said it was and to come get it. I showed up approximately 10 minutes later but much to my surprise, Sara and Warren both told me that there was a mistake and that my trailer wasn't ready after all. While Sara was apologetic about the mistake which I appreciated, Worthless Warren never even said, "I'm sorry for the mix up". Warren represents all that is wrong with millennials...a complete shirking of responsibility and no accountability. If Warren would have apologized and owned his mistake, that would have gone a long way towards recovering from his personal error. I asked when the trailer would actually be done and Sara told me, "later today, we will call you". Of course she never called. She didn't call the next day either. 2 working days after they said it would be ready, Sara called and said to come get it. When I arrived, I found an invoice that was 4 pages long and contained approximately 20 line items. All of this for hub repacking, axle replacement, and a new fender. This began a very frustrating argument about who was right. Some fat guy (also worthless) working at the counter next to Sara came up with a very offensive suggestion of "We can pull your trailer back into the shop and remove the bearings they replaced". This of course is no solution at all. Instead, it was just a snarky remark intended to offend me. After much back and forth, Croft removed the additional line item charges for repacking my hubs as those charges weren't properly communicated. Needless to say, this was a very frustrating experience especially considering that I was a first time Croft customer. I'm also a last time customer. I will NEVER take my trailer back to Croft again and I would strongly urge you to find a service provider who will live up to their commitments and respect the customer. Congratulations Croft...you just earned this 1 star rating. read more

I took my husband's truck in to have his hitch installed. They got the truck in right away. Plus, we were prepared for at least a 4-hour installation, but they had it done in 2, and they were short-staffed that day! Pretty impressive! read more

Have used croft several occasions and they have always been helpful. Helping a friend with a blown out hub on a trailer, so I went to Croft to get a new hub bearing etc. they had everything I needed except the castle nut which they happened to be out of. I called back the next day and they still hadn't received any nuts, but told me to come up and they would find me a used one for free. I know it's just $1.00 part but they didn't have to go find a used one , and my friend can now get his trailer back on the road. Thanks again !! read more

I purchased a receiver hitch for my Subaru Forrester at Croft Trailer and was pleased with the service. I had a couple questions since I was going to install it myself and they politely answered them. They do installs at Croft as well the price seemed reasonable but I figured I could handle this on my own. It took me about an hour and half to install the hitch and it will serve the purpose I need it for. Later needed a 2" to 1 1/4" adapter to use my bike rack and went to Croft and they had it in stock. I recommend them for anything trailer/hitch/towing related for your vehicle. read more

The most unprofessional experience I have ever had. That's the only way I can describe my recent experience with the Croft Trailer in Olathe, KS. This story starts with me calling to inquire about service to a boat trailer I have, a person answered and I simply asked if Croft would be the place to call if I needed to basically have my boat trailer reconditioned. The answer I got was "Yeah possibly but we are first come first serve so you gotta bring it by then we will get to it when we can" - Who says that to a customer? However I decided to bring up the trailer. I was greeted by an empty parking lot and after I got the trailer situated with no help from any employees I will in to find several employees standing around the front desk chatting it up. They couldn't careless that I was there to have service work done. After a few uncomfortable minutes of listening to there conversation one asked me if I needed help? No I came in for Pizza...... Really? At that time I asked who i could talk to about my trailer and about what work I would like done. I was greeted by a young man who walked with me out to the trailer and then began to take little notes about what I was talking about. I wanted the bearings repacked - yeah we can do that - I need the brake lines done - yeah we can do that - I would like to do an LED conversion kit - yeah I guess we can do that too. How about the bunks and carpet. Well we usually just have the customers get there own wood for those, its expensive with us. Really? This was just the beginning of this joke. For some reason I trusted this place to have just gotten off on the wrong foot and that the service would trump everything so far. I was wrong. Through several fumbling phone calls days later about what your establishment could do and couldn't do I was presented with an "estimate" of 1500 dollars but if I needed for you to get the wood it would be a "little" more. Why do you think I brought it there - I thought this is where I take trailers to have them redone or reconditioned - but apparently not. When I was called to be told that my trailer was done I was told that the final bill over $2,050.00 well over the estimated I had gotten. I thought to myself well if nothing else I bet the work is gonna be great. Wrong again. I arrive on a Saturday morning to again a ghost town of a parking lot - no one directing me where to go to pick up my trailer or any help for that matter. Once again I go inside and have to ask for help. What's your name? Nicholas Burton - yeah your all done. 2,050.00 please. Huh? no explanation of services done? no walk around to show me what you did? Not one damn person can fake that they give a shit about my service and wants to show me what I just wasted 2 Grand on? Nope not one bit. I then waited out front for the trailer to be "brought around". The Bunks are the shottest job I have ever seen. The paint that was done to the front of the trailer was done by someone who has never tried to match paint on something even once. Not one person cared to come out and show me all of the work done to make sure it was done right. I noticed a new piece of aluminum sticking out from the tongue with a chain - so i went back inside to see the employees once again chatting it up. i asked if someone could come help explain to me what it was. "I think its the emergency brake" was the answer I was given - Really? This is how you treat customers who just spent 2,000? The job done is sub-par at best. I could have hired the guys at the marina to do a better job on there spare time for a few hundred and a case of beer. The carpet is loosely attached, the light harness's are loose. The lights if they were even replaced are nothing special. Not sure if the tires and bearings even got touched. I will never do business with Croft again and I will make sure that everyone of the boat owners that I know never do so either. Your a complete joke of a business hiding behind a parts counter. I cant believe you treat new customers the way that you do. I was never greeted, never told thanks, never asked if i needed any explanation. Just a wham bam thank ya man, type of experience.
