This place is AWESOME! We were visiting my in-laws in Missouri and driving back to Iowa and my dad's truck broke down along the side of the road. When we called AAA and the tow truck driver came he said he could take us to Sci-Tech Automotive and that the owner would give us a good deal and take care of us. When we dropped off the car we left a note saying that we were traveling back to Iowa to visit family and had to fly out in two days and asked him to call us first thing in the morning. The owner called us first thing in the morning and was honest with us and gave us a great deal. Our truck was done by noon and the owner drove over to the Hotel to pick up my husband and drove him back to the shop which was extremely nice of him to do. Long story short, this place is AWESOME! I took my mini-van in for an oil change and to check a vibration in the front end at highway speed. Out of balance tires were balanced to correct the vibration. It's always good to get a problem corrected. But one of my favorite things about Sci-tech automotive is the communication. I arrived two minutes late, due to a confusing direction error on my map app .. & was told to have a seat & wait for my 4:00 inspection appointment. I waited 58 minutes to find out i failed due to a leak in my exhaust pipe & a break light out. there was an obviously irritated gent sitting in the waiting room stirring the atmosphere all negatively with his continuous sighs of frustration. I wasn't so keen on the restless vibe. The $12 inspection was so very incredibly thorough .. & I was offered a $350 estimate to fix the issues that failed my passing. I got my pipe welded for thirty bucks elsewhere. They advised me the leak was so small & hard to find that the inspection must have been pretty anal ... & I fixed my half out break light so cheaply on my own. I had twenty days to return for free for my passing. & i did indeed return to pass on short notice, thanks to Ari. He chatted me up in the lobby while I waited just ten minutes for my re-inspected exhaust & break light .. he talked of personal matters that ruffled my feathers a little bit. I had a very bad experience at the Sci tech in Grandview nothing but a rip off place! Try to sell work that does not need to be done & should not be trusted. I went in for a Missouri state inspection Was told I needed tires & lower control arm bushings & the red brake light being on and had to be fixed to pass inspection not to mention got greasy hand prints all over the inside of the door panel I took the vehicle to the highway patrol in Lees Summit to get there input I was told did not need any of the work recommended to pass inspection other than the red brake could not be on, nothing wrong with the brakes I fixed the issue with the light being on (which was on due to issue with the ABS system which is not part of the of the state inspection) & still would not pass the vehicle cause the red brake light did not illuminate when turning the key on Nothing but total unethical business practices Total hypocrites ,they act like they go by the book and do everything in accordance to the inspection but on the flip side they recommend unneeded repairs It's not as matter you need the work done rather its a matter we need to generate business No telling how many people have been taken advantage of by doing unnecessary repairs Steve B. read more

My daughter brought her car in when she moved from California two weeks ago. The tech pointed out two lists of repair. One was a long list of items that could be addressed but not necessary to pass inspection and the second list was a burned out bulb and a leaky resonator. They offered to fix the items for $350 and thankfully she left. I replaced the bulb for $5 bucks and the leaky resonator amounted to a $30 spot weld on a car that only has 40k miles on it. Very disappointed in their attempt to extort money from my daughter and we will never go to Sci Tech again. The leak was so minuscule that I could barely find it on the stainless steel resonator. I'm guessing they saw a young woman and thought they could make a quick buck. read more

I have been taking my vehicles to Ari at Sci-Tech Automotive for close to 20 years now. Ari and his team always do the work for the price promised, at the time promised, while exceeding my customer service expectations. Just this week my car had severe enough issues that I couldn't get it over to the shop for repair. He researched to see if the quote I'd gotten from another shop (near where the car died) was fair, helped me assess my options (fix or sell), and then put in a call to a dealer friend of his to get me set up with a new ride. There was no sales opportunity for Sci-Tech in any of this, but Ari spent the time helping me the way you would help a friend. I can't think of a better person and place to work with. This automotive repair shop is HONEST, friendly, timely and simply in a class by themselves. Last week I took my Toyota Highlander to Molle Toyota and had the oil changed and tires rotated (had a coupon). They informed me that I needed a new water pump ($750). I decided to wait and call Sci-Tech to compare prices. Ari replied quickly with a very fair quote! I set an appointment for today. They began working on my car and realized that my water pump is just fine, no leaks or drips. They had me come into the shop and they showed me that everything looks great. Sci-Tech could have made over $700 today but instead they charged me NOTHING and sent me on my way! No Charge, HONEST and one to trust! It is so refreshing to have trustworthy auto repair. read more

I had my car towed there yesterday by AAA due to my car not starting John was fully aware because I called him before to let him know I was speaking on my cell when john presented me with the sheet to sign saying just sign here we will get your car looked at never told me it would cost upon signing the paper ...later to come back and tell me that they did a block test in my car and I have a bad heater core and a blown head gasket I went to two other shops in blue springs every shop had a different story but nothing severe as what John told me I was even given my money back from one shop because of incorrect diagnostic after realizing john tried to charge me 89.99 for looking at the paper never said what the price was I signed not paying attention I have always taken my car to them as well as my children and never felt like he would swindle me I refused to pay that amount he would not give me my car key. And I almost had that old man on his back he told me he would call the Raytown police if I didn't pay I said well you better call them he said how much you think you should pay I said half 40.00 which in reality I don't think that bastard should have been given a dime I am never ever going there again I Will never refer anyone there after speaking to my sister about the situation she advised me that her guy friend Aaron just recently filed a claim with the BBB on them and I will be doing the same because my car went from needing hoses replaced to a heater core and blown head gasket never ever go there they are absolutely the worst on top of that the receptionist was taking pictures of me with her phone which is against the privacy act im filing a law suit you have not seen the last of me john ...Jackie a very angry displeased customer my boyfriend witnessed everything!!!!! read more
